Avatar m tn “Many, if not all, of the large AIDS organizations are in bed with the pharmaceutical industry. The executives of these non-profit organizations may get very handsome salaries, or other benefits, from Big Pharma. These organizations persecute and lie about effective treatments for AIDS so that Big Pharma can make many billions of dollars from the insurance of AIDS patients. A similar situation exists in the cancer industry.
Avatar n tn 3) Do a search on the Internet for various non-profit groups (gay and lesbian community organizations, Volunteers of America, HIV/AIDS community organizations) that offer free testing. Such groups often have the 20-minute rapid test, so you know even sooner. A simple Internet search is usually enough to give you several testing options. It's not even necessary to do it at your doctor's office.
Avatar f tn The results of the CT scan showed a double aortic arch. He referred us to a pediatric cardiologist, our appointment is next week. I have been reading article after article on the Internet, and this seems to be a dangerous situation for my son. I've heard about kids going into cardiac arrest, is this possible, something I should worry about? Or is this a simple fix with the surgery the ENT specialist discussed.

1054665 tn?1305508455 If you are not able to have your hearing aid repaired, I recommend you contact some of your local organizations such as the American Legion, The VFW, The Elks, the Rotary Club, etc. Some have programs that cover the costs of purchasing new hearing aids (you do not need to be a member or even know one, it is a benefit they provide for the community).
Avatar m tn Please do explore some of the low-vision training and aids which are available. I have an aunt who lost one eye in a car accident and is legally blind in the other (she is CF in the remaining eye from a retina detachment and cornea damage in the same car crash). She has done wonderfully with training from a group called Lighthouse for the Blind (this is in the US but there are similar organizations in other countries).
Avatar n tn I questioned her information, and she showed me the same information written on a card from the Maryland AIDS Administration. The local news here had cited the same statistics from the Virginia agency. Both of these organizations are headed by MDs and (I’m almost sure) receive Federal funding from CDC. They must receive money from the State taxpayers.
Avatar n tn The American Academy of Pediatrics also listed physicians and specialists– might be a place to start for a cardiologist. I mention these because perhaps these organizations have educational resources or could support you in finding doctors, local services, etc. There's a great article from Cincinnati's Children's hospital titled "My Child Was Diagnosed with a Heart Defect – Now What?". I can't post the link here but it'll come up if you google.
Avatar f tn The guidelines we go by at MedHelp are the recommendations of some of the worlds most well known and respected HIV/AIDS experts. We recommend the 4th generation DUO test 28 days post exposure and a confirmatory test at 12 weeks for a 100% conclusive result. Your doctor goes by different guidelines. Perhaps you should ask him why he thinks so many experts are wrong.
Avatar m tn Are there any organizations doing research on HIV negative AIDS? Can you advise any further tests for me? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I had a recent encounter with an escort abroad. The actual date was 8th July, I left back home the next morning. The act involved her doing an Oral act on me using a condom. While she was withdrawing the condom slipped of, however the head of my penis, Urethra were all still with in the condom. Then I took of the condom and wiped clean. Then I used a new condom and had sex with her..
Avatar n tn Check with your local dental society in regards to any services that may be available to your son in regards to his missing teeth. They may be able to refer you to further resources that are either public or private. The usual process I would imagine is to maintain the teeth that he has to continue to have a cosmetic smile and something functional.
372366 tn?1284403873 Organizations (governments and businesses around the world) continually prepare for pandemics. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Various influenza virus strains could be the eventual culprits. Currently, there are 4 anti-virals that are FDA approved for stockpiling; amanatdine, rimantidine, zanamivir and oseltamivir ( Note: Copyman, I think we have a rhyme for teleprivir now). Ribavirin is not one of those listed.
4455258 tn?1354834496 Your child has pathologic progressive high myopia. At age five her vision should be easily quantifiable by how far down the chart she can read with glasses on. It is not possible to tell her vision from the glasses RX just as its not possible to tell a person's weight or height from knowing their shoe size. She needs to be under the care of a pediatric "team" as she likely will need to see a pediatric ophthalmologist and periodically a pediatric retina specialist.
Avatar n tn Tell it to the CDC & Aids educators that say this to people man...i'm jut listening to the official findings to be safe man-sorry, but i respectfully disagree with you on this & unprotected oral, let's leave it at that. He can decide for himself, either way...

373367 tn?1246402035 I know most of you have more problems with your eyes than ears, but does anybody know much about low frequency hearing loss. My neurologist has told me from day 1 not to tell him that my ears ring, because "everybody's ears ring." I have been having painful ringing and just pain in my ears in the last month. I went to a hearing aid place and got my ears tested and they found moderate low frequency hearing loss.
