paxil

Avatar f tn Yup, those are common side effects of Paxil :( I've been told they subside after a few weeks (4-6) but the sexual side effects...well, that will take some time!
Avatar n tn ve take Paxil 10mg for three days now and I would like to quit, I have headaches and nausea now. My headaches are not relieved with the Tylenol. Will there be serious side effects just taking the medication for three days?

Avatar n tn It could be that your having headaches this 2nd time around b/c of the Paxil. The first time I was on Paxil I had no side effects but that was at age 24. I'm 29 now and I feel the side effects definately this time around.
Avatar n tn Take it real solw and ask your doctor about taking Remeron to help take the edge of off the Paxil side effects. Did a great job for me! Lets you get to sleep at night and really helps with the anixety. However, it did keep me in a fog for a few days until my body adjusted.
2044839 tn?1331255841 I was recently tried on Zoloft and I thought the side effects I was having were withdrawls from my Effexor and new side effects from the Zoloft ... but it turned out I am allergic to the Zoloft and was having a reaction to it!
Avatar n tn I have been on Paxil for over 10 years and have been thinking about getting off of it. What are the side effects of being on Paxil for such a long time? After reading some of the side effects of trying to get off Paxil, I am wondering if I should continue to take it for the rest of my life. Has anyone out there been on Paxil for as long as I have?
Avatar f tn However, I have taken other SSRIs and SNRIs, and while the withdrawal effects can be really unsettling and uncomfortable, they do decrease in severity and eventually go away with time. I wonder whether the tremors are a side effect from starting Paxil, or a withdrawal symptom from weaning off the Cymbalta, or both?
Avatar m tn I’ve had some of the side effects of Paxil, including dizziness, some nausea, and some tension-like headaches - nothing too bad just feels like a rubber band around my head sometimes. The biggest thing however, that scares me the most is sometimes when I’m reading something on my phone or focusing on something my eyes will jerk.
1722607 tn?1335747858 I am not sure if anyone is taking Paxil. One advantage the antidepressants have is that depression can be a side effect of the Hep C treatment (Interferon). Many people are placed on antidepressants before they even start treatment. Either of these drugs (Paxil or Zoloft) could be used for anxiety and either could be used for depression. I know there are more but without researching I cannot remember the names.
Avatar f tn I was recently on paxil for anxiety until I realized all of the side effects that I was getting including gaining weight. I talked to my doctor and he said I could wean myself off. I was taking 20 mg. He said 10 mg for 2 weeks and then 5mg for 2 weeks, after start wellbutrin. However, I didn't make it that far. Just by one week of going Down to 10 mg I was vomiting, running to the bathroom. Nervousness, dizzy, brain zap and a fuzzy feeling in my head, sweating, VERY emotional.
Avatar n tn Definitely talkto your doctor...it is possible its side effects from going off the meds, I had the terrible side effects from coming off effexor and they told me to wait it out, 6 weeks Ispent in the house, lost my job and everything, finally i put yself back on it and the side effects went away......you might be very sensitive to the pills like me and have to wean off more slowly...how did you wean off?
Avatar n tn Almost as if I have trouble maintaining blood glucose levels. My question is I am approaching the 2 week mark and I keep thinking these nasty side effects will all go away now. How long do these side effects take to completely be free from your body? I know I should just be positive and realize I was on this medicine for two years, it just might not dissappear in two weeks. I am mostly concerned with the dizziness , nausea, and blood sugar drops? I am 35 years old .
20632981 tn?1503687567 s also another class, an older class, called tricyclics -- easier to stop taking, but they do have some common annoying side effects such as headaches and constipation and dry mouth but not so much the weight gain and sexual problems and trouble stopping them. Lots of things to try, including therapy. Good luck.
983155 tn?1248700406 re in Paxil withdrawal and, because you started another drug at the same time that has a completely different mechanism of action, you have the side effects of starting another drug that may not even be an appropriate substitute for Paxil. What you should do is, if you just started the wellbutrin, stop it, go back on the Paxil, and taper off slowly, as slowly as it takes because you aren't anyone else. What you have are classic Paxil withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn My daughter is currently taking a combination of depakote, lamictal, and abilify for a mood disorder. However, her doctor feels the overwhelming problem with her is an anxiety disorder that is not being addressed by the current meds. The doctor wants to ween her off the lamictal completely and start her on klonopin wafers. I am concerned about the "drowsiness" side effects. Do these eventually go away?
Avatar f tn This 10 mg of paxil is kicking my butt...side effects of headaches, more anxiety, tight chest pains, dizziness, visual problems,diahreea,nausea....I know everyone says it takes 1 to 2 weeks to get in your system but I am staying so sick...I have only been on it for 6 days and I have already lost 5 pounds and my anxiety is worse now than before....I am still on klonipin and have been for 5 years but it doesnt even seem to be helping....
Avatar f tn I know there is side effects for anti-depressants but how long do they last and should I call my dr and tell them....my vision is off also and so dizzy....I am always in the house cause I never feel good enough to get out much...I have dealt with this for 5 years now and I am on disability for it....I just wish I could get a little bit of my life back....I am 54 and never go anywhere anymore cause of being so sick and dizzy all the time....
Avatar f tn and have lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks. I was not aware of the side effects from trying to get off this stuff. Any suggestions besides the usual? Lots of water- meditate- naps???? I'm pretty miserable but I think I am close to 'making the turn' and want to see this through....
Avatar f tn Just to add, it usually take about a month before you start to feel any benefit from Paxil. And plenty of people have negative side-effects during that first month of use. I was one of the lucky ones and didn't have any noticeable side-effects from it during my first month. But if Paxil isn't helping after a month and the side-effects are too great - there are other antidepressants out there that will probably help.
Avatar m tn I also take Paxil for a sleep disorder (depression-related insomnia) and have for 11+ years. It works wonderously, but I gained 30+ lbs when I started the medication and have tried for years to lose it, unsuccessfully. I will lose some weight - and believe me, it takes an enormous amount of exercise and effort - but inevitably gain it back because Paxil makes my appetite so strong.
Avatar f tn You will need to gradually decrease the dose by half every 2 weeks and this could take about 1 to 2 months before you finally stop. Some side effects of weaning off could be dizziness, flu-like symptoms, headaches, and seizures.
944223 tn?1245869858 t taper of SSRIs like Paxil there can be unwanted side effects to include what you are describing in my opinion. That is why it is essential not to quit these medications cold turkey. For me, tapering slowly minimized these side effects and they will go away...keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Lexapro and Buspar are totally different medications. Buspar is an anti-anxiety medication (I take that along with paxil) Lexapro is an anti depressant. You shouldn't have the same side effects. However, it will take a few weeks for the medication to work. You may have some side effects from that but everyone is different. However, you need to find the right med for you. Sometimes it is on the first shot, other times it may take a few. Hang in there and don't lose hope!
