Avatar f tn I have been on Zoloft for 3 months. Currently at 100 mg for 1 month. It isn't working well for me so my pdoc is having me wean off to try something else. Her schedule is 50 mg for a week then 25 mg for a week then stop. I told her I thought that seemed too quick and I wanted to do 75 then 50 then 25 then maybe even 12.5. She says Zoloft withdrawal is not a problem and this taper is fine.
Avatar m tn Hey my name is nick. I have been taking 6mgs of xanax 2mg 3x a day, and 40mg paxil one a day for about 3 years. Today I'm still waiting on walmart to fill them. Today is day 3 and I'm sweating, having crazy thoughts, and I feel like I'm dying. I'm quite shaky. Will this go away if they fill my scripts soon? I really don't know what is happening and I have a high fever.
Avatar f tn i was on paxil for many years and went off of it november of 08. i switched to an herbal alternative, 5-HTP, which works very well for me. but my doctors have taken me off of the 5-HTP now that i'm pregnant. i will admit it has been tough going through the anxiety of a new pregnancy following a m/c, without any pharmaceutical or herbal support!! (if you look at my posts you can kinda tell i have an anxiety issue. ;)) i honestly can't say which approach i think is "better".
Avatar f tn s anxiety, my gyno wrote me out a prescription for paxil but im not sure i want to take it yet. im still nursing my daughter and we are thinking about getting pregnant again soon so i really dont want to start getting on and off anti-depressants even though my doctor said it's entirely safe. i just have reservations about it. this is not my first circus ride with depression/anxiety. ive been suffering from it for 10 years now. ive had every physical and mental symptom in the world.
701313 tn?1228347713 My daughter, who is going to school for nursing suggested taking Advil just to see if it might interact with my brain waves. Nope, no help.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I'm looking for help and hope! I have been on lexapro and saphris for about 9 months, and was on paxil for about a year before that. I have always had insomnia with ssri's so that is why I take the Saphris....usually a 1/4 of a 5 mg tablet would put me to sleep within a 1/2 hour or so. I recently slowly weaned off lexapro over the last month, but when I got down to nothing I started having horrible insomnia (even with the Saphris).
10228675 tn?1423881456 I'm curious the best place to buy Nursing tanks from? Before pregnancy i was a 38F.. now that bra is way to small.. so im looking for a nursing tank that my boobs will actually fit in.
Avatar f tn what is the proper way to taper back to paxil? 3. How unsafe is paxil with pregnancy and what other options do I have? HELP! I feel like I am losing my mind!!!!
Avatar f tn Long story short I have had a very rough last 4 years. I started nursing school my kids dad passed away also lost several other loved ones that I havnt even had time to grieve for yet and I have 6 children. Needless to say I have an extremely stressful life. I've made it to last semester of nursing school and was hit with severe dabilitating depression and the first panic attacks and anxiety I have ever felt in my life.
Avatar f tn could be the cause of the sinus tachycardia so he recently switched me from Paxil to Lexapro. So the Paxil is now out of my system but I am still feeling the rapid heart beat. I know it's not dangerous since that is what the cardiologists have told me but I'm experiencing extreme anticipatory anxiety as to when my heart will speed up again and that something is going to happen to me, such as fainting or dying.
Avatar n tn Can I quit the paxil and take the klonopin 3 x a day as prescribed and safely get off Paxil. I am getting fat!
Avatar f tn When I turn 24 I began a career as a CNA in a busy Nursing Home and the weakness increased. I shook internally and my knees would give out, but still it was not at a level to worry about. 7 years ago I gave birth to my son and got postpartum hyperthyroidism which lasted 8 months and went a way. I would have tachycardia up to 199 bpm on a pulse ox.
467977 tn?1262714747 I take Paxil and buspar on a daily basis. I used to only take the paxil, but I still had terrible anxiety in the morning. My doctor then added the buspar 2x a day. It helped me almost immediately. It took away that horrible nausea and anxiety by 90 % in the morning. Some people say that buspar isn't effective, but it has been very effective for me. I take Klonopin only on an as needed basis. (Which is very rarely). Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Hi I have been on paxil for nine years.. I am currently 25 and feel like the paxil isnt working for me.. I also had tried stopping paxil for four months cold turkey.. it was HORRIBLE.... so i went back on 10 mgs.. now ive been on 10 mg for 3 years.. I just switched to zoloft over night.. as a doctor reccomended.. I am worried I will have paxil withdrawls symptons.. I really hope I dont.. I am taking 50 mg of zoloft.. i have felt ok since and its been four days... hopefully it will be fine..
Avatar n tn s a very tough drug to stop taking for most people. I will tell you I was on clonazepam and Paxil at the same time for years, but the Paxil was way more effective than the clonazepam. What may have happened is new challenges may have arisen in your life -- drugs don't cure anything, they just mitigate the symptoms but new challenges can override the effect.
Avatar m tn I am 3 weeks back on Paxil after a failed attempt to switch medications to Lexapro. I have read a lot that Paxil loses its effectiveness after the first time. I (stupidly) have started, stopped & restarted Paxil on several different occasions and it always has seemed to work. I was on paxil 20mg originally then stopped cold turkey and went back on at Paxil CR 12.5. Upped dose over time to Paxil CR 25mg.
Avatar m tn I would like information regarding the differences between Paxil and Prozac. I've used Paxil in the past, and the truth is that it is very hard to stop taking it. Right now I'm taking only 10mg (paxil) but I don't feel that is working anymore and have been thinking about switching to Prozac.
Avatar f tn My husband and I are trying to have kids. We have been trying for only a few month, however, we are not young anymore (35) and I don't want to wait a year before consulting with a doctor (as it usually recommended). So here is my question: My husband has been taking paxil for the past 13 years (10mg). From the research online I found out that paxil changes sperm DNA that reduces permeability and as a result reduces the chance for pregnancy.
Avatar n tn s no way to know if it will do what Paxil did. They are different drugs. You need to withdraw from the Paxil first, not add new side effects from a new drug, until you've withdrawn.
Avatar n tn I have been on 20 mg paxil for panic attacks for 7 years, I've tried to wean from paxil(felt like had no energy on paxil) many times, unsuccessfully. I've recently switched to 20 mg prozac, without a taper. After about 5 weeks, I started to feel lousey-nausea, diarrhea, no appetite, depressed. Still feeling lousey. Would it likely be better to increase prozac, or switch back to paxil. If switching back to paxil, what are the best ways to do this.
Avatar n tn Yea, Paxil is a bad one for weight gain. Fair warning... If any doctor tries to put you on Remeron and weight is a concern for you then SAY NO WAY. I have been on both at differnt times in the past. You want to talk about weight gain? OMG! Remeron makes Paxil look like a diet pill! Taking Remeron is like wanting to be fat.
Avatar n tn Getting off Paxil (if needed) is really no worse that stopping any other antidepressant. Paxil is the one SSRI that people report the most weight gain with. This doesn't mean you will gain weight on Paxil. Everyone is different, but yes Paxil is notorious for weight gain side effects.
Avatar f tn SHe told me to keep taking Paxil for just a week which she perscribed me cymbalta for 30 mg for a week with the paxil then she has me on 60 mg of Cymbalta and she told me to stop taking Paxil when i start taking 60mg. So is she weaning me off the Paxil along with the Cymbalta? And is this safe for a week of taking cymbalta 30mg and Paxil 20mg for a week?
