i am on paxil 30 mg once a day and i have noticed that i can not get off when my husband and i have sex- is this a side affect to paxil - also i have been getting headaches is this a side affect also - also is weight gain a side affect also please let me know if not getting off with my husband during sex is normal thanks kevkry

SHe told me to keep taking Paxil for just a week which she perscribed me cymbalta for 30 mg for a week with the paxil then she has me on 60 mg of Cymbalta and she told me to stop taking Paxil when i start taking 60mg. So is she weaning me off the Paxil along with the Cymbalta? And is this safe for a week of taking cymbalta 30mg and Paxil 20mg for a week?

Hi, I'm a 41 yo female and was on 20 mg Paxil for at least 2 yrs. It did the trick, but I didn't like that it took away my interest in the bedroom scene, and I started seeing a psychiatrist Jan 2012 to start the taper process. We are doing: 10 mg x 14 days, 5 mg x 10 days, (liquid)- 2.5 mg x 10 days, 2 mg x 10 days, 1.5 mg x 10 days, then stop. I don't remember how long I've been on the 10 mg, but just before I switched, I had a hot flash out of nowhere.

He cut his paxil by 25% each week and a week and a half ago he was started wellbutrin taking 300 mg and only 15 mg of paxil. 7 days ago he stopped paxikl completely.

I went home and continued experiencing these symptoms and finally went back to the doctor and told him I want to be put back on Paxil. This time he had me cut back down to 50 mg of Sertraline for 2 days and then jump to Paxil 25 mg for two days and then up to my usual 50. This was around 2 weeks ago and those symptoms are still sticking around.

I made my first appointment with psychiatrist. So told me to take 12.5 mg paxil for a week and added 5 mg lexparo, I felt like myself again. after a week i stop taking the paxil and i was just taking 5 mg lexapro . I was not feeling right after 5 days, so doctor increased lexapro to 10 mg. for 4 days i have terrible panic attacts and felt that i was dying. Called gain to doctor and she decreased dosage to 5 mg lexapro and added clonazapen to help with panic attacts. This is my 4 day.

5 Paxil Cr to 100 mg Zoloft. Paxil increased my weight and blood pressure. I was on it in varied doses for 5 years. I am 2 wks into switch over, cutting back paxil weekly. I am really tired, mind is racing more. Hope this goes okay, and my weight and blood pressure come down. Anyone else?

I took paxil at 40 mg per for about 8 years and it worked great for anxiety and depression. Six months ago I tapered off it, but now have nasty anxiety problems that don't seem to respond to any of the other ssri's. My doc suggested I get back on paxil and I agreed. I had no side effects when I first started taking the drug 8 years ago. Should I expect a similar experience starting it up again? Thanks in advance for the information!

I have just taken it 5 mg for 5 days then 10 mg for two days then, 5 mg for 1 day, 2.5 mg for 1 day then quit. I am having the worst anxiety. My counselor tells me that this was such a small dose for such a small time I should not be having any reactions, but I cannot pull out of the anxiety. I tried .50 mg melatonin last night, and am worse. Anyone had such a goofy reaction for such short-time taking? I don't know what to do. Thanks for any help you can give me.

With recently starting ADHD stimulant therapy, I have calmed WAY down. I was on 75 mg, down to 50 mg to 25 mg a day. I know coming off it totally is hard, so make sure you work with your doctor if you decide to go off it. I know there are others here who can give you some good advice regarding the process of getting off it. What ever you decide, know that you have support here!

really really depressed...I just got insurance, went right to the Dr..he put me on 20 mg paxil..things felt a little better even in the beginning..now i feel like I have some of the same old feelings..depressed, anxiety bad..etc..I go to my Dr in 10 days, do you think its too soon to see Paxil should be increased? I currently still have axiety pretty bad, usually daily..told my Dr..and he perscribed xanex as needed ( on the script 1 a day) .

I was recently on paxil for anxiety until I realized all of the side effects that I was getting including gaining weight. I talked to my doctor and he said I could wean myself off. I was taking 20 mg. He said 10 mg for 2 weeks and then 5mg for 2 weeks, after start wellbutrin. However, I didn't make it that far. Just by one week of going Down to 10 mg I was vomiting, running to the bathroom. Nervousness, dizzy, brain zap and a fuzzy feeling in my head, sweating, VERY emotional.

I have been on Paxil for over 10 years, Paxil CR 25 mg and decided to try to get off of them. Now my doctor has prescribed 10 mg. of Paxil but I am hesitant to take it since drug interaction warnings and my pharmacist say it could lower my blood pressure too much. I do not want to return to the emergency room or experience the bad side effects again. Any advice? Is it true that SSRIs and beta blockers are not a wise combination? Is there an SSRI that works well with metoprolol tartrate? I do not have a history of high blood pressure, but I do have a history of anxiety.

I would talk to your pharmacist or doctor about the combination of paxil and buspar. Perhaps you can time when you are taking them better. As far as withdrawel, that is easily remedied with all ssri's. You titrate back down. If you were on 25 mg, you'd cut back by 5 or 10 mg over the course of a few weeks. With all ssri's---- never stop cold turkey. (but there isn't a big difference in 20 mg of paxil vs 25 . . .) I think 20 mg is the usual dose of paxil, however.

I was still having some depression/anxiety issues so I saw a psychiatrist who changed me to wellbutrin 200mg twice a day and weaning off the paxil. I have been taking 10 mg of paxil for the last month and now am taking it every other day to wean off. I started the Zoloft on 25 mg for the first week and went down to 10 mg of the Paxil the same week, then 50 mg Zoloft the next week and 5mg Paxil, the following week I stayed at the same 50 mg Zoloft and went to 2.5 paxil. I have been on 20 mg paxil for panic attacks for 7 years, I've tried to wean from paxil(felt like had no energy on paxil) many times, unsuccessfully. I've recently switched to 20 mg prozac, without a taper. After about 5 weeks, I started to feel lousey-nausea, diarrhea, no appetite, depressed. Still feeling lousey. I really need to start again a SSRI for my extreme panic disorder and I want to know if the Celexa will work to stop the panic disorder, since I took it for my social phobia at 60 mg/day back in 1999 for 6 months and it did nothing for the social anxiety and my anxiety level didn't improve on it?

I have been weaning off Paxil from Paxil CR 25 mg, now on Paxil 10 mg (to avoid withdrawal) because I have been on for probably 10 years now. Unfortunately, after about 3 weeks on the lower dose I feel my lack of motivation, melancholy feelings, being less able to handle frustration with work etc all coming back. I really do not want to go back up on my dose of Paxil since it has such severe withdrawal effects if I ever go off it again.

The Paxil is 25mg and the Zolpidem is 5 mg. I have on them since March of this year. The doctor told me to take the Paxil every other day for 2 weeks then quit. The Zolpidiem to take as needed.
