paxil high blood pressure

I take Toprol for high blood pressure and I checked some drug interaction websites and they advise that Paxil and Toprol can have some kind of interaction with your heart so I'm thinking I have to use a different anxiety/anti-depressant medication or else switch my high blood pressure medication. I have a call into my doctor about the BP meds but I was wondering if anyone has any good experiences or recommendations as to a good anxiety medication.

I have been taking a very HIGH 120-150 mg Paxil which is twice the recommended dose. I came off cold turkey but immediately took Zoloft which is for anxiety also. I was taking 1000 mg just to feel half normal. I was still jumpy and jittery and had the worse migraine that you could ever know. It was excruciating!!! I mean my temp was up, I thought my brain was about to explode. My heart was racing. I was told that if I did not have the Zoloft that I would of died.

Even I took Pindolol which reduces Blood pressure (Beta Blocker) 10 mg and 20 mg of valium in the morning for anxiety and IT NEVER HELPED and my blood pressure was still high. Now I read Paxil withdrawal narrows Blood Vessels and it increases or releases cholesterol and can do many dangerous things to cardiovascular system and can be deadly. What the HEK DO I DO ????

I was on a high dose of Paxil. The only ache I had was a massive headache 24/7. Massive!! I went back on Paxil for two weeks and I'm off again but it's odd that I have no headache but I have the most horrible back pain. I never had this before starting Paxil. Last time coming off Paxil I nearly had a heart attack, I was admitted to the ER and given Benzos along with meds to reduce blood pressure and heart rate. I was only there 3 days but when I got home the withdrawal continued.

I have never done paxil but from what I understand there is anxiety involved.. I do have high blood pressure and I have had that sensation when mine was up.. I wish you well..

I do not have a history of high blood pressure, but I do have a history of anxiety. I used Paxil in the past but stopped due to the numb feeling. I think I also had weight gain on the Paxil.

I think right now thinking about my blood pressure is making it higher. I guess also whether your blood pressure is high from stress and anxiety or not it's still bad for your heart right? So, I have been thinking I should go on something like clonidine, which could also possibly help with my tourette's and eventual withdrawal from ativan. Hi Joyce, You don't say whether your vertigo came back when you went off the Paxil. Did it? If it didn't, then problem solved, you don't need to take the drug, and your blood sugar will be more stable. Not that I know if Paxil causes blood-sugar issues-- I'm the mom of a diabetic, not a pharmacologist.

Hi there, I suffer of anxiety attacks and this was increasing my blood pressure very high, I went to see a cardiologist and he gave me XANAX for anxiety cause I wanted to know if this was the main cause of my high blood pressure episodes... At the same time my General Doctor gave me PAXIL for the same thing, telling me that this med was less addictive and will help me for panic attacks and anxiety long term.

How do u feel from that?? What is the Klonipine for High blood pressure?? Are you detoxing or is it for deppresion? Is the Paxil for anxiety? Did the dr, give you this or is this a packet u put together?

I was on tramadol for 6 years and then I quit, it leave me some serotonin low levels, after I quit tramadol I started to have high blood pressure issues with severe panic attacks and anxiety. Any advices???

I’ve also suffered from, nausea, headaches, Severe and constant chest pain, low blood pressure, and high heart rate. Usually my heart rate is around 110 while laying down and will rise to190 while walking around. Things have gotten really bad. I’ve been out of school for almost 4 weeks now. My doctor has no clue what to do because none of the medicines have made any difference, I drink 100 ozs of water a day, I eat healthy, I have my salt, nothing is changing!

If you have no prior history of high blood pressure i would think theres a very good chance as these meds do crazy stuff....... I have read here where those with high BP before tx saw it go down while on treatment...... Good luck going forward.

Your bottom number is a little high but not horrible! I am 35w3d and I have had constant high blood pressure since 26 weeks. Its always around 165/94. Since its been constantly high, I see my doctor every thursday for an ultrasound to check the babies heartbeat and fluid, a non-stress test, and a chat with my doctor! I also go in every wednesday to do blood work to check for preeclampsia. This week will be my 4th time doing it.

I get high blood pressure when pregnant (this is my second pregnancy) it just happens. I'm fit and healthy and continue this during pregnancy and have hardly any salt in my diet.

cervix is still close which is fine with me no hurry lol but dr informed me that my blood pressure was high so he restricted me from work nn put me to rest...but I'm wondering if this means I'm getting induce?
