Common Questions and Answers about Paxil cr missed dose

paxil

Avatar f tn Hi all, Just wondering, is there any 1 out there that has had a positive experience with Paxil CR. I read alot of horror stories and am just wondering if it has actually helped anyone. You see, I have had panic disorder my whole life. I am 51 now. I was put on Paxil CR a few years ago and I thought it was a miracle drug. Totally got rid of my panic attacks. Still have some anxiety but am menopausal also.
Avatar m tn Im confused. I have been on SSRI's (Paxil & Paxil CR) in the past and they worked and I have come off on several occations, but currently I tried to swith to another SSRI which didn't work. Now I have been switched back to Paxil CR and I am currently on a new high of 37.5 milligrams for a week and a half and still don't feel that great. Is it usual to have a set back at every dose increase before it gets better?
Avatar m tn I am starting week #5 of paxil cr (week 1 = paxil cr 12.5, week 2 = paxil cr 25, week 3- current = paxil 37.5) Everywhere I read its just "keep waiting it out. It will get better." My doc wants me to raise to paxil cr 50mg on Monday if I don't start feeling any better. That is double the old dose I was at that worked for so long! It just scares me to keep going up. I recently tried Lexapro and it was a disaster. I just need some positive feedback.
Avatar m tn I was on paxil 20mg originally then stopped cold turkey and went back on at Paxil CR 12.5. Upped dose over time to Paxil CR 25mg. Recently that didn't work so I tried switching to Lexapro to try out a different drug (which didn't work) so I am back to paxil. Started Paxil CR 12.5 3 weeks ago and have increased each week by 12.5 to where I am currently at now on Paxil CR 37.5. Should the dose increase work? Has anybody had success with this?
Avatar n tn thanks to you for your insight. I ended up switching from Paxil CR 25 to Paxil 20 (gneric),which surprisingly my insurance pays for. I made the switch today with no adverse things happening, although I know it could be delayed. The goal at this point is to taper off the paxil 20, then get onto prozac. Although maybe I will just stay on the paxil if it keeps going well. The Paxil Cr has been great for me, but inusrance doesn't pay any of it, not even for generic.

Avatar m tn had set in with Paxil CR. I was on Paxil CR 25mg and now it looks like once I get the last bit of Lexapro 5mg out of my system I will probably be bumped up to Paxil CR 37.5. My question is, what constitutes a "poop out"? I hear that term a lot and really don't know what it means. Does that mean that when trying to go up in a dose it still didn't help?
Avatar m tn Does anyone else have HORRIBLE nausea from taking Paxil CR? I am on 25 mgs. and it is helping greatly with the depression. BUT the nausea is insane. I take it at bedtime with a snack and I am sick for half of the next day. Ginger tea, gingerale, Coke, oatmeal. Totally bland diet. It is one heck of a diet plan. Please help.
Avatar m tn Now I am on paxil cr( paroxetine cr ) 37.5 mg. still I am feeling social Anxiety. So I consulted My psychiatrist. He stopped paxil and prescribed zoloft (sertraline) 150 mg a day. morning dose 50 mg and night dose 100 mg for 15 days. what will he prescribe after 15 days that's I don't know but I want to know that can suddenly dose be changed like this?
Avatar f tn I have been weaning off Paxil from Paxil CR 25 mg, now on Paxil 10 mg (to avoid withdrawal) because I have been on for probably 10 years now. Unfortunately, after about 3 weeks on the lower dose I feel my lack of motivation, melancholy feelings, being less able to handle frustration with work etc all coming back. I really do not want to go back up on my dose of Paxil since it has such severe withdrawal effects if I ever go off it again.
Avatar n tn I have been taking 37.5 mg/day of Paxil CR for several years and because my panic attacks were interfering with my ability to work, my medical doctor and psychologist suggested that I switch to 50 mg/day of Zoloft. I am now on day 5 of Zoloft and can NOT stop crying. I'm also dizzy and nauseaous. I feel like I'm losing my mind and want to know if this is "normal" during transitioning from one SSRI to another and if so, WHEN WILL THIS END?
Avatar m tn After a failed attempt to fix my anxiety and subsequent depression that has come from it over the last 14 weeks with Lexapro and Paxil, my psych is switching me too Remeron (Mirtazapine) 30mgs. I started my first dose last night and already started my taper down of Paxil CR 50mg to Paxil CR 37.5 and hold there for a week. I also take Clonazepam 1mg at night to help me sleep due to the paxil. And I take Clonazepam .25mg dissolvable tablets during the day as needed for anxiety.
467977 tn?1262714747 Starting off at 10 mg is asking for trouble, as a rule of thumb SSRIS you should ideally start off at 1/4 of the therapeutic dose, especially since it not uncommon for anxiety suffers to have an increase in anxiety and agitation when starting an SSRI, usually these side effects will subside after a few weeks. Ideally one can start off at 5mg(1/4 of therapeutic dose) daily and increase your dose by 5 mg per week until you reach the therapeutic dose .
Avatar n tn I have been on and off Paxil for 5 years now. I started on CR low dose, now at 30mg no cr. My body is used to it... and it doesnt help me very much anymore-although it is better than being with out any medication at all. Soon I will be getting re-evaluated and I know they're going to ask me to wean off it. I am really scared, because I know the few times I have lapsed in dose, it has been absolutely horrible. Any advice? Any info? Everything I find online is abstract and not really helpful.
Avatar n tn He also prescribed 1mg of Ativan, which I only take when needed (about twice a week). I was either going to ask him to decrease the dose of Paxil or try a different medicine. One therapist told me that after a few years your body chemistry changes and a medicine such as Paxil may no longer be effective. I just don't see the point in taking 60mg when 20mg seemed to do the same thing. Neither really helps with the panic attacks though.
Avatar m tn Just looking for somebody who has been in the same boat as me and could offer up some advice/support... Last January I had a rough anxiety bout and started back on a combination of Paxil CR 25mg and Clonazepam .5mg. Everything was going smooth, but after a couple of months I noticed my anxiety was getting worse so the doc upped the clonazepam to 1mg. Ok for a couple of months, but after a while anxiety still crept up on me.
Avatar f tn t work you take them once a day , otherwise you get only the morning dose working and top that up with the night dose.
Avatar m tn Over the past 5 months I have come off of paxil, switched to Lexapro, switched back to Paxil CR upping my dose (50mg) to see if that would work. Clonazepam was increased to 1mg at night and .25mg in the morning and afternoon. Still the anxiety came... About 2-3 months ago my psychiatrist started me on Remeron which almost helped immediately. After a month I started to come down on the medication I had went up in. Currently I am on Remeron (30mg), Paxil CR (12.5mg) and Clonazepam (.
467977 tn?1262714747 Hi! Well, I still feel nervousness after taking my Paxil. I'm in week 6. They say what, 6-8 weeks? Will the nervousness "just go away like that?" or am I doomed, lol... :( I am wondering....should I switch to Paxil CR? I wonder if that would help any?
Avatar m tn I need to get myself back to normal, if there is such an thing, I might have break down and go on paxil cr or try something else. I was on paxil cr for a year or so, but when I was feeling good, I slowly winged myself off, that week or so when I fianally stopped, it was HELL, withdrawal symptoms were a nightmare! Ty guys for responding !
Avatar f tn I stopped taking my Paxil CR 25mg approx 3 weeks ago due to loss of insurance and job. I had been taking them for over 2 years and before that I took other anti-depressants for several years. Since stopping the pills I have been experiencing insomnia and "dizzy spells". The spells last about 1 second, can occur when I take a deep breath, or move my eyes fast, among other reasons, and happen 50+ times per day. I feel this is a direct effect from stopping the pills.
Avatar m tn Please i need help on how to undesstand on how to quit Klonopin 1.mg and Paxil Cr 12.5. I feel that these medications are destroyng my life and my brain each day, I have been on Knlonopin for 6 years and every time i try to quit i have horrible withdrwal effects t, the worst is insonmia.
Avatar m tn The doctor thought I may not have enough Paxil in my system so he put me on 25mg Paxil CR twice daily and it made me feel even worse. I felt like I had the flu and very achy. Very bad withdrawal effects. I was then put on regular paxil 40 mg daily and I constantly had the eye zaps and strong depersonalization feelings like I was in a constant withdrawal. I was then switched to Lexapro 20 mg.
Avatar f tn I have taken 12.5 mg of Paxil cr for almost a year. I am not liking it or feeling better. My doc just switched me today from that to 5 mg of lexapro for two weeks then up to 10 mg of it. Said I can just switch cold turkey. I have read mostly people being tapered off slowly to switch. Has anyone here successfully switched immediately or should I wean somehow??
704329 tn?1518523098 One symptom of withdrawal is insomnia. If you a miss a dose, you should take the missed dose as soon as possible, but if it is close to the time that you usually take the medication you should skip the missed dose and restart your usual routine. You should be fine as long as you get the prescription refilled and continue with your normal routine the next day.
