paxil and panic attacks

From therapy to Zoloft from that to Prozac that was the worst one than to paxil. I have been on paxil for 7 years now and lately i feel like when i take my paxil it makes my panic attacks worse,i don't know whats going on.Also before my period starts it gets really bad.My doctor wants me to take xanax but I'm not taking this stuff.

I am still weaning off of it but I started it mainly for depression, not panic attacks. I have had panic attacks in the past but never this often or severe. I agree with you. I think I do need to go a bit slower. I will talk to my doc about it but I am sure that is most likely the problem. Thanks so much for taking the time to give me some advice and help me out. I have had panic attacks as long as i can remember. I have been on paxil for almost 10 years now. I had gotten off of it for a year and was doing ok until some bad stuff happened all at once and i couldnt shake it. I am on 60 miligrrams now and when i got off of it i was sick and couldnt eat from the attacks. I went from 155lbs to 107lbs in three months. So im back on it now and my weight is at 150lbs. I gained the weight back almost instantly.

Thanks for the input, I was on prozac last spring, and had an awful reaction, it took a few doses of xanex and ativan to get me out of it, after hours in the ER.. I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks and have for over 20 years. I was on ZOloft for 14 or so years and it pooped out on me the fall of 2013 and ever since looking for the same wonder drug zoloft gave me...

I then weened off Xanax that had worked pretty well for many years then all of a sudden about six months ago I started getting panic attacks again. I am currently Still on Paxil 20mg and taking Xanax 0.25mg for a total of 2.75mg a day. I take 0.5mg at 12:00pm 0.5mg 3:00pm 0.5mg 6:00pm 0.5mg 9:00pm and .075 at bedtime. I have done a lot of reading and I am finding out that Klonopin is probably a better choice.

00am completely in the shakes panicing, cant stop shaking and nervous head to toe.... trying to make tea now and try and relax but what is going on with me????

But its for depression not panic attacks, if you are having panic attacks you need a benzo with it.. The paxil does help with some of my anxieties but not all of them, so thats why generally you get a combo.. When a panic attack comes on you can take the benzo to stop the attack..I've been dealing with this problem since I was a teenager so I've been on meds a long time and without them I just cant function properly at all... Good luck with finding the right medication for you..

You need to seek professional help with your anxiety either with therapy and/or medication. Medication will stop the panic attacks and to me that makes it worth it's weight in gold! You have choices and don't have to continue living like this. Seek help so you can get your life back!

hi there i was told i have panic attacks and gave me paxil and xenax. a lot of people tell me to work it out with out the drugs cus it will do me bad. im just want to know if its worth taking them and am i in this hell for ever????????????

I had insomnia and resulted in panic attacks. My shrink put me on Paxil (antidepressant) and Ambien (sleep pill) and Klonopin (anxiety). I was weaned off Ambien after 6 mos. but kept on Paxil and Klonopin (as needed). These really helped me through. But be careful on Paxil , because it is very hard to wean off. Talk to your psychiatrist and see what's best for you. Any antidepressant will have side effects.

I have been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks for about 12 years. I was on paxil with great success for 3 yrs and stopped due to pregnancy. i felt ok for 4 years and they came back so I started taking Lexapro which was ok but came off it after 1 year. Now I am having them again but am afraid to get on something and I don't know why. I acquired a phobia of feeling "altered" I guess. I can't even enjoy a drink anymore because I have an attack if I start feeling buzzed.

but overall I try all the newer and older antidepressants and so far, the Paxil is the only one who work for the panic disorder and it reduce a lot the chronic symptoms I have and stop completly the panic at 15 mg... Too bad, a PMM is not something I can have where I live... For the short inpatient, they call it a daytime hospital, you go there 3 hours by day and return at home everyday, you don't sleep there but you are follow by a PDoc...

T do it, cause PAXIL was really helping me for this disorder and more for panic attacks so I continue taking both meds, Paxil in the mourning and Xanax for sleep. Right now after like 5 months of being taking both I tried to go COLD TURKEY on Paxil but 5 days after that I started to feel this ZAPS inside my head and some strange electrical sensations all over my body, so I started again and feeling "well" back again.

I dont know what to do I just cant live like a prisoner in my home any more and thats what the panic attacks do. So dase anyone know if zolof is good for someone with really bad panic attacks and Anxiety? Thanks Danielle.

Since taking the Klonopin I seem to be more anxious and have distorted vision at times. I had a major panic attack while driving 2 days ago. I swore I was going to pass out. I have not had that happen to me in over 15 yrs. I am taking my xanax still in moderate amounts .25mg-.50 max a day. It seems to be the only thing that makes me comfortable. Please tell me can the Klonopin cause anxiety?

ve been having more and more panic attack lately due to the side affects of this pill but mostly at night and gotta wait to early today to be able to get refill of my other medicine to help cope better with this.

I was tapering off paxil because it stopped working after almost ten years the doctor stated me on zoloft an after two and a half weeks I started having the worst panic attacks. the doctoc said it was to stimulating. dose anyone have any suggestions on what will help for bad anxiety ???

About a year ago, I started to have anxiety symptoms and panic attacks again. While my panic attacks have subsided, I have been ruled by excessive worrying, especially about my health. I have been to the doctor several times (and put on Paxil), and I am healthy. I cannot seem to overcome this worrying. Anytime I have a strange pain, I worry that something could be seriously wrong. The worrying is becoming so overwhelming that I worry about worrying, as crazy as that may sound.

Panic attacks are happening more at night and depression hasn't lessen, once I hopefully get back on my old medicine which is xanax it should help with this a bit more but still take the paxil in full with it to see if that would help with paxil

This was my last and ONLY solution because nothing worked and these are non addictive but recommended to come off Zoloft slowly and it is much easier then Paxil but it also works great for panic attacks and anxiety... I saw people asking questions about how to get off Paxil and I wanted to share that advice because cutting back did not working and switching to other ssri meds did not work, but Zoloft did.

hello, my wellbutrin experience was horrible!! i had more panic attacks then i did before i started it, and also ended up having 2 terrible grand mal seizures because of it. i was on 300 mg a day. since then i have tried paxil, but because im pregnant they now switched me to zoloft. which is pretty good now. i dont' really have any expericnce with klonopin, but i do know that it helps my mom out alot.

I started to notice they were becoming few and far between. Pretty soon the panic attacks were gone and I just needed the 25mg of Paxil CR. Are you nervous all the time?

that lasted 8 days, i had the worst panic attacks and thought i was going to die. i went right back to paxil and saw a physciatrist who explained to me u can never cut paxil cold turkey. u have to ween urself off and that requires work, which right now im not strong enough for.

I have been experiencing panic attacks on and off for the past three years. of course they always seem worse when moneys tight or issues come up in my life. when things are good, the panic attacks go away, petty much completely. I have the up and down swings like I could be bi polar, but alot of the other symptoms don't exist.

Hello to everyone,i'm on cipralex several years diagnose with Ocd and anxiety disorder my dosage was initially 30mg now dicrease dosage 20mg,but these days are very bad i have again panic attacks every morning when wake up and i.m afraid that have some heart issue ,cause heart goes like crazy and start to shake and feel i will die ,and for this i take some xanax that distress me but i'm afraid if this happens again...

Hello. I started taking Paxil around mid December for frequent panic/anxiety attacks about my health, and when stepping into a public place or a crowd of people. I’ve had some of the side effects of Paxil, including dizziness, some nausea, and some tension-like headaches - nothing too bad just feels like a rubber band around my head sometimes. The biggest thing however, that scares me the most is sometimes when I’m reading something on my phone or focusing on something my eyes will jerk.
