paxil and numbness

Both the Paxil and the Klonopin cause numbness to occur. I recently detoxed from both meds. I was taking 40 mgs of Paxil a day and 1 mg 4x a day for over 8 years. Be thankful your body scared you the first time you took them!!! The month of February I was holed up in a room at my sister's house while she and my dad took care of me, every minute of every day. The next month, March 2016, I detoxed from Paxil. Needless to say, I am still having numbness and it is June.

I had to stop taking Paxil abruptly, 3 weeks ago. I have been suffering with numbness in my feet, finger tips, brain and face, and it is not getting any better. I am also vomiting, my speech is slow and sometimes slurred, my thoughts are random and I am dead tired on my feet. Can anyone tell me how long it will be before the numbness goes away? I can deal with everything else....but the numbness is horrible. Thank you.

Also I have had alot of body aches,weekness,numbness in my arms,hands,and fingers,and alot of trouble sleeping at night.I also wake up sweating sometimes and i have had frequent urination.I take 20mg of paxil a day and 20mg of prilosec a day.I have been tested for all STD's, my lungs because i smoke,my liver,my pancreas,my thyroid,and had a endoscopy,but everything is normal.Do you think this could be all in my head or something more serious.Please advise.

I have episodic numbness and pain in legs, but also have this problem in arms and hands too (numbness and slight tremor). I also have abdominal pains (mostly ULQ) and fluctuation in stool. I don't smoke or drink. I'm on paxil (mood), lisinopril and small dose of atenolol (hypertension). I have taken paxil and lisinopril for years. I had two ablations for SVT in 2006 - second one caused a PE which I took warfarin for 6 months. No clotting factors.

The additions included numbness on the right side of my face that seemed to increase with exertion/movement, and perhaps the two most prominent were a distinct borderline painful soreness and numbness in my quadriceps and calves-as if i had worked them out extensively-but i hadnt. This was acompanied my a stiffness and tightness of both hands.I also noticed weakness of the hands as well as dropping things alot.

ve been on several antidepressants, one in the tricyclic category and several ssris. Only one made me gain weight (Paxil). So there you go -- you never know.

I became numb all over my body, could not think straight, sensitive to sound, ears ringing, one pupil larger than the other, extreme depression, and extreme anxiety. The numbness was so bad that I could not even feel water in my mouth or feel things going down that I swallowed. I believe that everyone is different and symptoms will vary from person to person. I have been off of xanax for about 3-4 months and I am still slightly numb.

Also I have been diag. with depression, I have been on Paxil 40mg, hydroxyzine 50mg, and trazadone 100mg I had quit these meds about 2 months ago. I did not like how these meds made me feel.

ve been experiencing episodes of numbness and weakness on my right side of body from my face to my toes. Sometimes, but not every time, I get a really bad headache on the left side, prior and/or nausea too. I ended up in two different ER's with the first 2 (happened in 2 diff towns). Hi people, I have anxiety disorder and hypertension, this both diagnosed and treated. I have some control now with my panic attacks and extreme anxiety, but the problem is not that, I just tell you that just for you to know some priors, 3 days ago I started to experience some kind of numbness in my right hand fingers (the first 3 starting from the right).

so she prescribed me paxil..40mg dose..and i trusted that ..shes doctor =) went home the next morning ..took my paxil..and an hour later i was sick as a dog..all my sypmtoms were worse..on top of naseau..dizziness..and feeling like i want to vomit ...so i went to the ER..the next dum doc tells me ohh maam you wouldnt feel the effects of that paxil for two weeks..?? really then why do i feel this way!?? lol...sooo this ER doc gives me klonopin to balance the paxil...so i took it..

I take paxil 25 cr now and it is working pretty good. My doc upped me to 37.5 and I noticed no difference either so went back down to 25 without a problem. I think as long as you are taking paxil going down on dose is not an issue, it's if you go off all at once but my son who is 14 and has just developed panic attacks was put on zoloft 50 mgs and it has helped him. I took zoloft first but gave me gastro problems so doc wanted me to switch.

I have been confirmed to have Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy by Nerve Velocity and Conductance tests. I have numbness in my toes and the balls of my feet plus occasional shooting pains originating in my toes. I have general fatigue and balance problems and absolutely no stamina. I was originally diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth but a second Neurologist ruled it out since my legs aren't real skinny.

I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.

What happens if i find out im pregnant and am on Paxil? I hear that it is very bad to be on Paxil especially during the first trimester. I definately want to come off of it-but i cant do it cold turkey being that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. If, in the past, i missed a dose-I would begin feeling very dizzy and nauseaus. Im sure this affect or worse wouldnt be good for the baby either. If I ween myself off slowly-im still taking Paxil in my system during the first trimester.

He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.

Hello. Does anyone in this group take Paxil and crave alcohol? I do and never did before....I told my Dr. and he said Paxil doesn't cause alcohol cravings. He also wants to keep me on Paxil..I just want off it..

I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.

I have an anxeity disorder that triggers OCD and Paxil has worked very very well and given me a great life since being on it. I figure I should try something different to see if it helps the weight gain and if Zoloft doesn't work, or help me to lose the weight then I will have to cut off the wine and go back on Paxil. Suffering from Anxiety *****, but I would take the weight gain over feeling freaky all the time!

t heard much about doing it the other way around. And why Paxil and not Prozac or Lexapro? Lots of questions here. Sounds like your main problem, from the meds you're on, has been diagnosed as depression, not anxiety. True? If so, you might get better help on the depression forum.

I'm confused -- are you saying that you're on Effexor and Zoloft and Paxil at the same time? Or Prozac and Paxil at the same time? You can't do that unless you've tapered down slowly off the Paxil -- you can't take two drugs that target serotonin at the same time if you're still at a medicinal dose of the first one.

RA is that reacurring anxiety?? To answer your question only ur doctor will be able to say whether it will help YOU! but in theory it should help cause Paxil is used to control anxiety disorders as well as depression. 20 years to be on Paxil is a long time, you must of been put on the drug when it very first came onto the market. Also did you tapper off slowly or come off quick? it could be a rebound effect from not having the drug. Best to have a chat with your doc.
