Avatar n tn s a very tough drug to stop taking for most people. I will tell you I was on clonazepam and Paxil at the same time for years, but the Paxil was way more effective than the clonazepam. What may have happened is new challenges may have arisen in your life -- drugs don't cure anything, they just mitigate the symptoms but new challenges can override the effect.
Avatar f tn I've been prescribed clonazepam for anxiety and I worry about taking it I have tried other medicines as well do not work for me is this medicine helpful has it helped anyone out there.
Avatar m tn Thank you , I had the unsteady gait before the clonazepam, but now it is different, like lightheadedness too. I quit the paxil. I do not like drugs and they do not like me. I feel weirdest like 4 hours after I take the clonazepam now, but sometimes there seems to be no trigger, and I start tripping over stuff ,walking into doorways, and when I run feel like I am not smooth but have to really focus so I do not fall. Oddly, I have never fallen, but feel like I will. It is so strange.
Avatar m tn I also take Clonazepam 1mg at night to help me sleep due to the paxil. And I take Clonazepam .25mg dissolvable tablets during the day as needed for anxiety. Well now that you know all the medicines... I took the mix last night and within 40 minutes was out like a light. When the alarm clock went off this morning my wife was pissed at me and stated "you don't remember last night?" Supposedly she stated I was acting like a drunk. Trying to talk to me and I would just mumble.
Avatar m tn For the better part of 10 years my issue was controlled through paxil or paxil cr and a little bit of Clonazepam. Over the past year, my anxiety has gotten much worse and paxil doesn't seem to work anymore like it did. Over the past 5 months I have come off of paxil, switched to Lexapro, switched back to Paxil CR upping my dose (50mg) to see if that would work. Clonazepam was increased to 1mg at night and .25mg in the morning and afternoon. Still the anxiety came...
Avatar m tn Just looking for somebody who has been in the same boat as me and could offer up some advice/support... Last January I had a rough anxiety bout and started back on a combination of Paxil CR 25mg and Clonazepam .5mg. Everything was going smooth, but after a couple of months I noticed my anxiety was getting worse so the doc upped the clonazepam to 1mg. Ok for a couple of months, but after a while anxiety still crept up on me.
1321537 tn?1274470517 What other medication are you on? Sometimes anti-depressants are taken for anxiety also--like the SSRI's. I take Paxil for my anxiety...and when I was getting used to it (usually takes about a month) I took clonazepam, so I have some experience with it. I originally went on medication after the birth of my 3rd child. I was having some severe post-partum anxiety with panic attacks. First we tried cipralex, and it never actually started working for me...
Avatar f tn 5) and will go up on that while coming down off Paxil. I will still take the .25 Clonazepam until I am done with my transition and hopefully get off Clonaz. when I am all settled. Anyone else have this side effect with clonazepam / klonopin?
Avatar f tn I will assume she is expecting you to stop the use of both the diazepam and the clonazepam once the Paxil has reached it's full efficacy. But you ask us "does this sound right?" It sounds right to me that she would give you something to help you through the waiting period.
Avatar m tn I am currently taking Paxil, Clonazepam and Remeron. I sleep good at night because the Remeron (30mg) knocks me out, but I awake to a low level anxiety every day. I have reduced my Paxil from 50 mgs to 12.5mgs over the past 4 months. I have reduced my Clonazepam from 1.5mgs a day to .75mgs a day as well. I want to focus on getting the Clonazepam out first. I was originally given it to help with sleep, but now since I have the remeron I don't feel it is necesarry.
Avatar m tn She agreed and upped my dose on Lexapro to 15mgs and told me to cut my Clonazepam down to .5mgs in a few days. I did and felt decent for 4-5 days. Days 6-8 felt like I was hit by a truck. I didn't want to get out of bed, severe anxiety, depressed, all the above. I called the Dr back and they told me to go back up to my 1mg of Clonazepam for now until I am stable and we can slowly withdrawal later.
Avatar f tn My doctor switching me to paxil and clonazepam at night two days ago. The first night I only took .25 of the clonazepam and there was no difference. Last night I tried .5 and seemed to sleep a little better. I only work up at 4:30, took a xanax and feel back to sleep until 6:45 am. Usually once I am up at 4 I am up the rest of the morning in a pretty hard panic. I am trying to feel hopefully, but not too hopeful. I just wanted to say "Yeahh!" when I saw the clock.
Avatar n tn Hi all, I'm trying to taper off a 1 mg daily dose of Clonazepam. Also currently taking 25mg of Paxil. I've been working with this combination for a little over two years and have, I believe, generally benefited from the process. Previous to taking the medication, I'd been dealing with what felt like a non-stop anxiety attack for a little over 15 years (basically, as long as I can remember).
Avatar f tn He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.
Avatar f tn Ive been on paxil and clonazepam for 12 years and have been great every since.
Avatar n tn Technically you shouldn't. But I will speak only from my own experience. I've been on Prozac and Xanax (a benzo), and now Lexapro and Xanax for about 4 years now, and I've had the occasional drink (or 2) with no problems at all. The only thing is that the meds make the alcohol more "effective." That is 1 drink will feel like 2 drinks. So definitely don't binge drink, but a glass of wine or a cocktail here and there is not likely to cause any problems.
Avatar f tn 1.5 morning and night, along with a whole host of other tablets. Too many to name. I am a walking medicine chest. Getting hooked, well, happens, to longer term users. I would imagine they will take you off it once you make your switch over from one tablet to the other. In other words you won't be on it that long. So don't worry yourself. I've been hooked once before on xanax and no doubt some day I will have to come off this too. I will face that problem when the day arrives.
1091149 tn?1396349503 25mg 3 times a day and it doesnt do anything but I am scared to increase it because I know I will just get use to that and then its to increase it again and again....they finally put me on paxil 3 weeks ago and I have already tried it 3 times before and have tried over 25 different anti-depressants for the last 5 years only to feel worse than before....I am on my 4th week starting tomorrow and everyday that passes i feel worse and worse....
1252901 tn?1271131868 I'm supposed to be taking 1 .5mg clonazepam (or is it 5mg?) twice daily, but if I take one it makes me really tired and sometimes depressed or irritable. Will this go away after I take it for a while? I keep trying different anxiety meds but they all make me really tired. I know buspirone doesn't do that, but I overdosed on it once, and I don't want to take it again. So will the sedative side effect go away, or should I just take less or try something else?
704329 tn?1518523098 Hi all, Ive been taking a mixture of medications for the past 6 months that has included Xanax, Ativan, Paxil and Clonazepam for Anxiety. I had to stop taking the Xanax and Ativan because I felt myself becoming dependent on these medications to sleep at night. So the Doctor had prescribed me Paxil (10mg for 2 months and now 20mg since) and Clonazepam (just 1mg before bed) instead which I have been taking for about 5 months now.
Avatar m tn should i take a chance and call physician on call? would they give me paxil at the ER? i dread going to mental health crisis because i fear they might make me an inpatient against my will. in a mental health inpatient unit thats when the hell really starts. these stupid shrinks thinks everyone that is admitted must be put on a torture drug, i.e. an antipsychotic(neuroleptic). those drugs should not even be given to crazy people they are so inhumane.
Avatar f tn i take paxil and clonazepam every day but i been noticeing that my hands will shake out of no where and was woundering if that was a side affect from one of them. i have looked both up but found nothing about hands shaking. its starting to drive me nuts so i wanted to see if anyone has any info on this.
Avatar f tn Obviously the Paxil and Wellbutrin aren't working, but Paxil is a hard one to stop. But there you have it -- if you feel this way while taking these meds they just aren't working.
2102085 tn?1350866645 With that thought, I went to my p-doc yesterday to explain my findings, and she suggested that I wean off Lexapro and immediately switch to Paxil. She put me on a plan where i decrease my Lexapro and slowly add Paxil. I am currently on only 5mg of Lexapro. My nausea has decreased but still miserable and now it is mixed with Lexapro withdrawl symptoms, which as you may know, is a nightmare. I am seriously considering not starting the Paxil and just getting off SSRIs all together.
Avatar f tn I have plenty of people to talk to, but nothing seems to help. I have been diagnosed Zoloft and Clonazepam to help with my panic attacks that are starting to happen several times a week. Has anyone taken these or have any thoughts to share? I do not react well to medicine and am worried about taking these medications. On a side note, I am very much in love with my boyfriend who is very close to proposing. I try not to trouble him with my issues because he lives a very stressful life.
