This past friday at 1:20am I was rushed to the ER from sudden back pain that was unbearable I was so scared for my baby.. Came to the conclusion it's kidney stones and I became more terrified because there's not many pain killers they could give me other than tylenol and morphine, so about the last one I asked if it was ok for my baby, first they said not sure!!
With 4 larger ones, 2 in each kidney. I also have nephrocalcinosis. The left kidney has the larger stones and a cyst but only hurts occasionally, if I am passing a stone and sometimes if feels like the larger one gets stuck somewhere. The right kidney however I live with chronic pain, which we have connected to a chronic infection and a narrowing that makes them more painful when the little ones pass! So I would rule out infection first.

If you only had one stone, slight discomfort after passing it is possible, but that discomfort should not last very long. 3 mm stones normally do not cause me any discomfort after they pass. It's usually the ones bigger than 3 mm that cause me what I call "aftershocks", or discomfort for a little while after I pass a stone. That discomfort certainly doesn't last more than one day either and is very off and on and not steady discomfort.
Hello, sorry to hear your pain. I'm going thru the same thing. I've been having discomfort on my left lower back, it comes and goes. I had an CT Scan and nothing came out. The only thing is I have trace of blood on my urine. Today i went to an urgent care and still found trace of blood, but this time it was less then the other 3 visits. Also, i found debri or crystals in my urine which dissolved like sand.
My urologist says both my kidneys are full of stones. He said all but one are small enough to pass on my own. I want to get this over with! haha it's been 2 months since I was told I have many stones but I haven't noticed any stones passing. How do I get them to come out? I drink about 1.5-2 liters of water a day but hardly pee at all (i did two 24hr urine collections, 1st only had 0.9 liters of urine and the 2nd one only had 0.
i am used to the pain and can deal with it, what scares me is the kidney pain. normally i dont get kidney pain with the stones. i had to have only one stone removed surgically, it was stuck in the lining of my urethra, total pain on that episode before and after! Does anyone have any knowledge on preventing calcium oxalate stones that i havent tried already? i cant take diuretics because of a sulfa allergy, the potassium citrate does nothing, and i have slowed down on tea and cheese.
Hi all, I had lithotripsy2 weeks ago wendesday and the dr was able to break up all the stones in my kidney. I had a 10 mm stone in my renal pelvis, multiple stones in the lower portion of the kidney largest of which was 6mm and 3 stones in the ureter largest measuring 4 mm. I had a stent in for a week and in that time passed maybe 5 or 6 tiny little pieces, since the stent was removed Ive counted just 1 tiny piece passed.
Each time at the ER I am prescribed pain meds and anti nausea pills and sent home. I am passing stones again and last trip to ER after cat scan I was told I have so many stones in both kidneys they didn't even bother counting. I finally have a appt with a urologist today at 2:30. My questions are....for the past 3 days I have been on a all liquids diet. Always two gallons of water by my bed to suck down. I have not drank anything but water.
Hello everyone,I was hoping someone could help me out.I went to the ER last Monday,I was having lower abdomen pain as well as some lower back pain and painful urination.The doctor seemed to think it was kidney stones so he did a ct scan.He said he couldn't see any stones but they could have been vry small and in my ureter{not sure of spelling} he also said he saw some diverticulitis in my colon and to make appointment with family doctor.
