280736 tn?1294198374 Long story short.. I keep seeing blood in my urine more and more frequently. I have no pain, could this blood in urine have anything to do with the hep C? Thank you all.
Avatar m tn Causes can be divided according to the affected organ and they are Kidney conditions (infection, pyelonephritis, kidney stones, polycystic kidney disease), Bladder conditions (cystitis, bladder polyp, bladder tumor), Urethral conditions (Sexually transmitted diseases, urethral injury) and certain bleeding disorders. When the blood in the urine is at the beginning of urination, it most likely comes from the urethra, (the tube from the bladder to the outside).
Avatar m tn I have a long history of stones, yet have never had blood in my urine especially as much as I was passing. The kidney stones eventually did pass (w/in 6mths) w/out any surgery. So I was grateful This could be the same for you. It can take a yr for a kidney stone to pass & you could have pain, no pain or w/ blood in urine or w/out. An X-ray can easily rule out kidney stones.
231903 tn?1281482584 Stones in the urinary tract can cause blood in urine in form of clots. What was diagnostic laproscopy done for? Stones? In that case maybe there is a bleeding point inside bladder or kidney or ureter that is resulting in clots. It could also be due to polyps in bladder. What was the result of laproscopy. It is difficult to comment beyond this without further details. Please discuss this with your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

It is looking like every thing is going back to the square one. Do I need to go for further treatments?
Avatar n tn m not going to be 100% positive on it, but if your son drank cranberry juice (lots of it) check into the effects of the oxalates(in cranberries) and the calcium(in your urine) building up to possibly form kidney stones, the last question on the linked page will be helpful if that's the case. http://www.uti-cleanse.com/faqs.php If not, the doctors could be just concerning about kidney infection due to the bladder infection which can get very serious.
Avatar m tn As kidney stone develops, they can also cause hematuria or blood in the urine. Hematuria can be 1)microhematuria which is blood detection on urinalysis and not by the naked eye or 2)gross hematuria as the stone passes through the urinary tract. There may be some degree of hematuria at any stage when a stone is in the urinary tract, and even after passing the stone due to the local damage caused by passage of the stone.
Avatar f tn Your doctor may prescribe allopurinol (Zyloprim, Aloprim) to reduce uric acid levels in your blood and urine and a medicine to keep your urine alkaline. In some cases, allopurinol and an alkalinizing agent may dissolve the uric acid stones. * Struvite stones. To prevent struvite stones, your doctor may recommend strategies to keep your urine free of bacteria that cause infection. Long-term use of antibiotics in small doses may be useful to achieve this goal. * Cystine stones.

Avatar n tn hi brandy, based on your description, you might be having kidney stones. the best way to check that is to have your urine tested. once you have your test results, there might be additional imaging tests like xrays and ultrasounds to measure the size of these stones (if ever there are) keep us posted. good luck!
Avatar m tn Hey all, I have had three kidney stones in my life, and occasionally, say thrice a year -- my kidney(s) (usually one at a time) will ache, and I get a nasty stinging in the end of my genital area. I have no blood in my urine, and was wondering if this was maybe a minor kidney infection. The stinging does not occur when urinating, but rather when I'm just sitting idly. I was also wondering if maybe the stinging was cause by very tiny kidney stones passing?
1962386 tn?1325356133 I am 17 years old and for the past 3 years ive had every test done possible to me to determine the reason for severe pain in the kidney area and blood in my urine. I had a urinalysis and they determined that the blood was coming from each kidney and there where no other abnormalities. They tell me that it can be one of two things, loin pain syndrome of the kidneys or berger's disease.
1534233 tn?1523388856 Sine this afternoon my urine had a red/ping tint to it. I and my wife both think its blood. I've had kidney stones before and when I passed then there was a little blood but this could be seen in the urine clearly, today it seems all mixed. Its the bank holiday and no doctors for another 4 days, I'm not going to A&E but wonder if I should visit the local walk in center or not.
Avatar n tn If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain as well as blood may appear in the urine. Your symptoms highly suggest kidney stones but I recommend that you have this evaluated further by your doctor. Diagnosis is through an x ray or ultrasound. The results of these tests help determine the proper treatment. Furthermore, the chance of recurring stones is high. That is why it is also important to determine which type of stone is formed to prevent the formation.
Avatar f tn The last surgery I had was in 2006. I also have had/have kidney stones in my left kidney, I passed a 13mm one in June 2006. In the past year I have not had any reoccuring problems with my obstuction and stones, although I still have 6mm stone in my left kidney. This past week, I did however urinate large amount of blood, my urine was cola colored. With my history I decided to go to the emergency room cause I was very concerned.
Avatar n tn Calcium oxalate crystals in the urine are the most common constituent of human kidney stones. Also, blood in the urine can be caused by a lot of things. Some are serious, including cancers, trauma, stones, infections, and obstructions of the urinary tract. Others are less important and may require no treatment. These may include viral infections, nonspecific inflammations of the kidney, medications and benign prostate enlargement. As kidney stone develops, they can also cause hematuria.
