Avatar f tn This also causes a loss of appetite; as such this is accompanied by weight loss. So, record your temperatures, on a two hourly basis to detect an evening rise of temperature. Please check with your doctor to rule out this condition. Regards.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Tecta (which from my research, I believe is Pantoprazole) is a PPI and Zantac is a H2 blocker, so the answer most likely is that, yes you can take both of these together, but I would still recommend checking this out with your doctor.
Avatar f tn Exactly seven days later I had a perforated duodenal ulcer and emergency surgery. Afterwards I was put on pantoprazole 40mg, once a day. I was on this for three months then my prescription was over. During my time off of pantoprazole I noticed sharp abdominal pains, nausea, bloating, and a general unwell feeling. I saw a GI who didn’t offer much insight but scheduled a colonoscopy/endoscopy and put me back on pantoprazole 40mg.
Avatar m tn Yes I agree there must be a cause of this painful urination. When I pee in a cup the foam is not there as much, only in the water. The GP said it doesn't mean anything and since the urinalysis detected no protein in the urine I doubt it is of much concern except that it started recently and although it seems harmless I suspect it is directly related to my painful urination. I was worried taking pantoprazole would harm my body. I've been having hyperacidity for the last year.
Avatar m tn Well, that's true that weight loss would improve a lot of his symptoms, but you are right that there are a lot of issues going on here. One thing to remember though, is medically, even without the alcohol or the extra weight, it has gotten to a certain point where your father has medical issues that are irreversible. But what the optimal thing to do now is try to help improve his quality of life and focus on relief of symptoms. It sounds like pain is a big issue.
Avatar f tn I have suffered stomach problems for over two years, recently the pain has been getting a lot worse on these flare ups. Ive not had a week free of symptoms. I take Pantoprazole only one a day but have took two. I also take Gaviscon but I just do not get any relief. I wish it would just go. I am waiting for the results of a ph monitoring test and may be getting the Nissen fundoplication op. What Im worried about is not getting the op,what then?
Avatar n tn My condition would worsen to include swollen lymph nodes behind my right ear, muscle ache in my lower back, sudden and drastic weight loss, complete and prolonged loss of appetite (took weeks to recover), severe malaise, night sweats, exhaustion, an oral ulcer, rash on my left arm and swelling in the left side of my abdomen. Three weeks after the incident (now back in Canada), my GP sent me for an HIV test (4th gen duo), which returned non-reactive.
Avatar m tn I am 28 yr old lean, underweight guy and the main purpose of joining the club is to increase my body weight and get toned. This was my first ever experience of weight training exercises and on the first day I tried almost everything I could, on my own, since no instructor was present that day. It was alright until I did a round of "Sit Ups" when I experienced a sudden sharp pain somewhere between my neck and right shoulder. I didn't go to gym on the next day.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your physician. It can probably be handled with a telephone call.
Avatar n tn I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
1140169 tn?1370185076 The gastro report says they biopsied a polyp in my stomach which was benign, and they found my stomach acid is too high in my osophogis (sp). I am to continue taking 2 pantoprazole per day and repeat the gastroscopy in a year. I just thought I'd post my results because I had posted that I had these proceedures done.
Avatar f tn I have always had some issues with nausea and cramps but not severe, and there was an episode of long-lasting nausea in high school (2016) after I had a case of the stomach flu and then food poisoning that was practically resolved after a short amount of time on domperidone and pantoprazole. For a while I was fine, until university when the nausea returned and I suddenly stopped feeling hungry and I couldn't attend classes.
Avatar f tn Doctors prescribed to many antibiotics which led to my acid reflux. Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
20210291 tn?1492541285 A few weeks later the symptoms kept getting worse, without any reason I now had lost 5kg of weight in 2 weeks and it kept dropping, I now got headaches, felt dizzy, generally weak, my joints and muscles hurt, an unpleasant strong pulse felt in my entire body(even when lying down) and slight trouble breathing. One evening I ate something that irritated the for some reason sensitive mucous membranes in my mouth, it left several open sores, one of them becoming infected.
1210142 tn?1266077031 I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole. Please, let me know what your opinion is and have you heard about any interaction between those two? I don’t need an additional heart attack.

Avatar f tn The right side of my abdomen is now swollen, it is apparent that is is swollen due to the fact that the other side is sunken in severely after all the weight loss. I am beginning to worry and each day I feel weaker. If anyone has any idea what might be wrong, I would very much appreciate the input.
Avatar m tn fast weight loss is most of the time lost water and muscles. Fat takes ages to go away. Third: Think of a diet as something permanent. Crash diets just help you gain weight faster once they are over. So, pick some simple rules of a balanced and healthy diet, and follow them. Don't sweat it if you crave for something "bad", to a balanced diet belongs the bad side, too. If you give in now to a small piece of chocolate, it is much better than to eat two whole packages later.
Avatar f tn Yes please talk to your dr, there are many things that could cause rapid or excessive weight loss and some of them can be serious. In addition to Thyroid and GI testing maybe ask about diabetes. It seems odd, but it can cause weight loss.
