Avatar f tn Hiatel hernia, GERD Acid Reflux and Larynix tumors are some of my long term problems now. Both from losing some of stomache, Esophageal damage and throat damage, from intubing along with lung damage from ARDS. I am now high maintainence. My Part D plan only allows certain generics during donut hole. My husband is also on a transplant list. Medical costs for us both are extensive. We do not qualify for any help since we always worked and saved for retirement. That nest egg has all but gone. Q.
Avatar n tn Sure enough, cut my asthma med Symbicort to 1 puff once a day from 4 puffs and at half the dose. This is a good thing because long term use does cause bone loss and I m a 65 year old very active female. Last year I broke a bone in my ankle walking on a flat surface so bone loss is an issue for me. For this reason I stopped cold turkey the omepazole and all hell broke loose with reflux, burning stomach, burping and gas.
Avatar n tn I really hope you find a cure for your situation. I know ppis are the worst to be on long term but in my case, it was necessary to heal the inflammation in my stomach.
Avatar f tn Hi, pretty well everything you wrote rings a bell, I have been on Pantoprazole sold under Protium Brand in the UK for 12 years despite the fact that most leaflets state 8 weeks max and not tested for long term use, I also use lots of Gaviscon. I do have a confirmed Hiatal Hernia which produces acid reflux sometimes during the daytime and almost always if I nap during the day whilst sitting up.
Avatar f tn I told my doctor that i really need something that is not over the counter . ask about pantoprazole 20mg .. When i do get heartburn and take one it takes a little while to kick in but then no sign of heartburn for the rest of the day . watch what you eat and one pill may last two days.
1210142 tn?1266077031 No assimilation of Calcium, Vitamin Bs, Magnesium (which can affect your heart), increased broken hips... In summary, I would not worry for the interaction with Plavix, since probably you no longer need it, I would be very worry for taking them without a clear diagnostic or reason. If you have got a gastroscopy and they did not see the reason of your pain, chances are that you will get nothing from PPIs. If you have not got the gastroscopy, I would get it before going on PPIs for life.
Avatar m tn Yes, this (Pantoprazole 40 mgs, Clarithromycin 500 mgs and amoxillin 500 mgs) is one possible H. pylori treatment regime (two weeks, I guess). Someone reported bad nausea with Clarithromycin some time ago here on the forum, so, you can't expect feeling better during this regime, but only after it.
177337 tn?1310059899 Make sure you have your doctor check your magnesium levels while taking these drugs long term, as they have been associated with sometimes severe hypomagnesemia, which could cause PVCs and other heart rhythm problems.
Avatar f tn Hello, this will be a long one because I want to provide any info that may be important. I’m a 24 year old female, have been healthy all my life, delivered a healthy baby in January 2018, then became pregnant in 2020 again. During this pregnancy, I ate a lot, gained 70lbs which brought me to 219lbs and I’m 5’7. During the labor and delivery, I had a placental abruption, lost a good amount of blood but overall was fine and delivered a healthy baby.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your physician. It can probably be handled with a telephone call.
Avatar m tn How long will I have to take pantoprazole 40mg/day for my acid reflux? Will I ever be cured from acid reflux hence no more medicine OR this is a life time thing which means continued use of daily medicine?
Avatar n tn I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
Avatar m tn Around February 1, I got a stomach bug (all 3 of us in the household did) and I ended up having long lasting symptoms for some reason. Three of us had diarrhea and one had with with vomiting. Everyone else got better from it. I never had vomiting, just diarrhea. We had black, tarry/watery diarrhea for a number of days. I went to the ER for massive pain in the Solar Plexus region during the time when I was basically over the diarrhea and getting back to normal again.
Avatar f tn But nothing was done about that. I got pantoprazole after that procedure. But no instructions were given on how to proceed after that. After the pantoprazole was finished i was fine for about 2-3 months (feb 2016 to may 2016). But then the symptoms came back. Not the sharp pain but discomfort. So I started taking zantac again. As soon as it got better I reduced the dosis to no medicine.
1140169 tn?1370185076 The gastro report says they biopsied a polyp in my stomach which was benign, and they found my stomach acid is too high in my osophogis (sp). I am to continue taking 2 pantoprazole per day and repeat the gastroscopy in a year. I just thought I'd post my results because I had posted that I had these proceedures done.
Avatar f tn Now I was taking 2x1 40mg Pantoprazole for 14 days, then starting yesterday 1x1 in the morning 40mg for additional 1 month, and at same time I have to take sucralfate just before sleep.
Avatar f tn Doctors prescribed to many antibiotics which led to my acid reflux. Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
Avatar n tn Hello, I have had heartburn and stomach problems for over 30 years. I'm 67 yrs.old and have tried all the different perscription medications. I have been taking protonix for about 5 years now and I'm concerned about long term use of protonix and all the other heartburn medications I have been taking for 30 years. I still suffer from heartburn daily. I have had 4 Endoscopy's done at different times and my Dr.
Avatar f tn I had physical symptoms that sound similar to yours!!! I ended up with a hole in my septum but no other long term effects. I would try not to worry too much until you see the ENT! Its great that you have stopped for a month now! Have your physical symptoms gotten any better now that you arent using? Stay off of it now that you have a month!!! Its a dangerous drug that psychologically just wants to keep pilling you back in!! Keep posting and let us know how you are getting on!!!
