Avatar f tn Hello, this will be a long one because I want to provide any info that may be important. I’m a 24 year old female, have been healthy all my life, delivered a healthy baby in January 2018, then became pregnant in 2020 again. During this pregnancy, I ate a lot, gained 70lbs which brought me to 219lbs and I’m 5’7. During the labor and delivery, I had a placental abruption, lost a good amount of blood but overall was fine and delivered a healthy baby.
Avatar m tn Then I started having stomach pains and I was put on the antacid pantoprazole and a stool softener for constipation. After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it. I still don't know what initially caused the bloating, why it ramped up to GERD so quickly off the medication, and how damaged my LES is now.
1210142 tn?1266077031 I have seen studies (contrary to most) that actually put the Pantoprazole at 39% reduction in Plavix efficacy. In my layman's opinion, Pantoprazole has (at least, for me) had what I consider a life-threatening interaction with Plavix, and I recommend that everyone re-consider their choice of gastroesophageal meds. I have an echo scheduled for 2/22 with a cardiologist followup in March. If there's any interest, I'll keep you posted.
Avatar m tn I'm on Pantoprazole 40mg twice a day. It just started about 5 days ago with the shaking all over, dizzy feeling in my head and also having "shakes" in my abdomen area. My GI doc said the stomach shakes....his patients have told him about them, but he didn't give a reasoning really as to why.
Avatar f tn I should also mention that I had a clear colonoscopy which is great. However, the pain never really seemed to be lower- it's between my navel and rib cage often radiating to my back. The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing heaviness in left chest with mild pain which rotates and remain there for 4-5 minutes. All the reports like ECG,Echo, chest X-ray are clear, but the problem remains. Can anyone help??
Avatar n tn My wife 55years age has pain under the left breast on the rib and in upper stomach f0r last 2months.She has burning sensation, depression, stress, and energy loss. She is taking paracetamol+ibuprofen as a pain killer which gives temporary relief only. She is also taking ofloxacin200mg 01BD for the last 15 days and also one capsule daily of Pantoprazole +domperidone combination. But all this is of no avail. Avatar f tn The even after eating stomach-friendly food it got worse, especially in cold temperatures. When I went to urgent care I got omeprazole for acid int my stomach. This diagnosis was just based on the explanation of my symptoms. I got severe muscle cramps as side effects from that and went back to the urgent care and they gave me zantac instead. Still the same dosis of 2 /day. It all started end of June 2015.
Avatar f tn I had an endoscopy two weeks ago and the GI Dr found severe inflammation in my esophagus and stomach and short segment Barrett's. I was prescribed Pantoprazole and in the last few days I have developed bladder pain and urgency. No burning during urination. I know this is not a UTI because I've had several in my life. The only time this kind of pain has happened is when I've been on another med that had this side effect. I'm also so very tired and weak.
Avatar f tn I am having GERD flare right now and take Gaviscon every night(almost) Have started Pantoprazole today. Yesterday I had grilled pork steak . I also eat about 50grms of dark chocolate every day.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been having recurrent GI bleeding episodes since 2001. The doctors have rules out H.Pylori, NSAIDS. Everytime the ulcer is at upper duodenum. In the first episode although H.Pylori was ruled out they gave antibiotics and Nexium for couple of weeks. When it happened again after few years they put me on Nexium permanently and then even on Nexium I started getting pains for the past 8-9months and they did a series of tests again and couldn't find anything.
Avatar f tn You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried. Many a times a persisting H pylori infection can be the cause behind acidity not responding to treatment.
Avatar m tn I am having a burning sensation in my esophagus. It is more so evident when I am working nights. There is a rare reflux coming up to mouth, no food, only acid taste. It is not there after breakfast and lunch (maybe rarely). But it is certainly almost on a daily basis when I stay awake late night. Any suggestion how I could avoid this? I do have belching more often than flatus.
Avatar m tn I have have had severe GERD for almost 22 years--my surgeon tried to tell me I needed surgery 16 years ago. I was being treated with a PPI and still having breakthrough symptoms. When things would get better, I would quit taking the meds---i really fought taking them. My surgeon told me it was just a matter of time and I would have to have the surgery. I have had to have my esophagus dilated 4 times now, 3 of them have been the last 3 years in a row.
Avatar n tn I have not been sexually active for a long time, and never knew I had herpes and it just began occurring. I had horrible GI problems and sever GI bleeding off and on for 8 years, I had surgery and thank God I am healed, but all of a sudden I started having herpes. I never had it before, as far as I know, could this have cause all the GI bleeding, and diverticulitis?
Avatar n tn You can also take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals or H-2 blocker such as ranitidine for complete relief. However, please consult a doctor before starting these. Apart from this your doctor may do barium meals X-rays, endoscopy, carbon urea breath test (to rule out H pylori infection), celiac test, etc to reach a diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Hi, My GI Dr. Did an endoscopy & said I have Gastritis & had H-pylori & gave me a very heavy duty antibiotic which got rid of that, also gave me Dexalant for the burping, which I had to stop taking because it gave me diarrhea, then she gave me a prescription for pantoprazole sodium Dr. 40mg instead, which I have been taking for a few weeks & that hasn't helped either. The burping is constant, even during the night when I get up to go to the bathroom.
Avatar m tn m 38 years old had an unprotected sex with a girl ,my symptoms are first after 2 weeks a had cramps abdominal pain 2 times a day bowel movement i made a normal blood test and my leukocytes was 12,500 normal avarage was (4000-10,000) after that i was treated with antibiotic ciprol 7 days and for 10 day i was back to normal, then after 5 day a had abdominal burning lot of gases burping than my doctor told me to do a helicobacteria test that showed i was positive in helicobacteria from blood test,
Avatar f tn Tenderness in the back on bowel movement - would you say this tenderness is in the spine area, or on the sides? Does tenderness goes away after bm or not? Do you feel any burning at urination or you need to urinate freequently? 2. Have you had diarrhea lately, or changed stool color? 3. Anemia - when you had it - was confirmed with a blood work? What kind of anemia it was? Kidney infection was confirmed? Was it treated with antibiotics? 4. How much weight have you lost and in what time? 5.
Avatar n tn I agree! Blood in the stool implies bleeding somewhere in the GI Tract. Red or maroon colored blood is usually rectal bleeding (lowest part of the colon). Add in the pain, and you need to see a doctor ASAP. You don't want to delay treatment for a GI bleed.
Avatar n tn My gastroenterologist did an upper gi endoscopy which only showed mild gastritis. I was put on pantoprazole for a couple months. This slightly helped with the heartburn, but produced full blown nausea everyday. It's important to mention at this point that I have pretty bad anxiety and also have emetophobia. The thought of vomiting sends me into a full blown panic attack. I'm able to control it so I do not vomit, just have severe nausea for long periods of time.
5051252 tn?1362970368 First thing, see your doctor. Anytime you have GI bleeding, it's a good idea to get it checked out. It's probably something simple though so try not to worry. The blood is loose and in clots so that means it's source is likely close to your rectum - hemiriods, etc? Also, you seemed to pass it quickly followed by normal stool which is good as well. If the bleeding is upstream, the blood will be in the stool and the stool can become black in color.
Avatar n tn t an oral hygiene problem, then this should be followed up on with your doctor. This could be upper GI bleeding due to your Gerd which is currently untreated. I do understand about Zantac and would say you also need to talk to your doctor about an alternative medication. I would call your doctor today to be seen!
