I am aware of Protonix generic Pantoprazole. I have now been advised by a Pharmacist that Prevacid will help me. Will it?? Is this a Beta Blocker only or more? Are there ANY Proton pump Inhibitors out there other than Protonix and generic?. Is there a hospital injection of medicine that can be given? I will anxiously await any and all replys. I am living on Pepcid now with little relief. My Pharmacy puts Protonix at $737. for 180 40mg.tabs of Protonix and $570 for Pantoprazole.

As far as cost - if you have insurance once it's generic it usually goes on the cheaper generic copay list if you have that sort of insurance. so for instance if with your insurance you pay $30 for non-generic drugs on the approved list and $10 for generics on the approved list - you'd be paying $20 less/month for your valtrex. Is anyone out there taking Teva's version of Nexium? I'm to the point now where I can't get the brand. I was astonished to see that this generic version's co-pay through my insurance is so high! $80 for 90 days. I could understand this price for the brand, but for generic? Hi Grace, I just wanted to point out that a lot of us here in the US are uninsured and don't have a "provider". therefore it's the cost and means of getting the prescription itself that is the big hurdle to getting the Acyclovir treatment. Generics are just a name change only, from high cost brands name medicines to low cost brand name medicines. Just like all other products sold here in the US: Toilet paper, clothing, clothes soaps, and foods, etc., etc., etc. I buy a lot of generic products, which are made by brand name companies, with the same ingredients. Its the advertising of the "Brand Name" products that is where the high cost comes from.

If a person has an issue with the cost of the medication it would make sense for them to ask their psychiatrist for the generic form as its basically the same medication but not being the brand form would be far less expensive (the generic would be called olanzapine).
