11970398 tn?1443134602 Well I was on omeprazol and my OB took me off because it wasn't super safe and tested during pregnancy! But the doctor that confirmed my pregnancy told me it was fine. I think that there are some medications that are on the edge (like zofran) and had many different opinions. I always choose the natural route during my pregnancy though and I've suffered with GERD or acid reflux my entire life!
Avatar f tn I’m a 24 year old female, have been healthy all my life, delivered a healthy baby in January 2018, then became pregnant in 2020 again. During this pregnancy, I ate a lot, gained 70lbs which brought me to 219lbs and I’m 5’7. During the labor and delivery, I had a placental abruption, lost a good amount of blood but overall was fine and delivered a healthy baby. Exactly seven days later I had a perforated duodenal ulcer and emergency surgery. Afterwards I was put on pantoprazole 40mg, once a day.
Avatar f tn Originally had Bowel obstruction surgery 7 yrs. agao. Bad doctor from emergency room referral, no antibiotics before during or after. Contracted acute sepsis, jaundice then ARDS. On ventelator in coma for several weeks. Upon awakening had hole in my stomach size of a football. Several failed mesh surgeries, finally flapped and repaired by reputable nationally known surgeon. Still have adhesions requiring decompression sometim es, etc.
Avatar f tn You should start to feel better within 2 to 3 days. It may take up to 4 weeks for pantoprazole to work properly so you may still have some symptoms during this time.
Avatar f tn I do have a confirmed Hiatal Hernia which produces acid reflux sometimes during the daytime and almost always if I nap during the day whilst sitting up. I do not have this problem at night like most people because I have sleep apnea and wear a cpap mask all night, the forced air not only keeps my throat open but also appears to prevent reflux for which I am grateful because the situation would be impossible with a mask on.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your physician. It can probably be handled with a telephone call.
Avatar n tn I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
Avatar f tn I had an endoscopy two weeks ago and the GI Dr found severe inflammation in my esophagus and stomach and short segment Barrett's. I was prescribed Pantoprazole and in the last few days I have developed bladder pain and urgency. No burning during urination. I know this is not a UTI because I've had several in my life. The only time this kind of pain has happened is when I've been on another med that had this side effect. I'm also so very tired and weak.
20922415 tn?1661860103 During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which thicken the lining of the uterus called the endometrium.
1140169 tn?1370185076 The gastro report says they biopsied a polyp in my stomach which was benign, and they found my stomach acid is too high in my osophogis (sp). I am to continue taking 2 pantoprazole per day and repeat the gastroscopy in a year. I just thought I'd post my results because I had posted that I had these proceedures done.
Avatar m tn We had black, tarry/watery diarrhea for a number of days. I went to the ER for massive pain in the Solar Plexus region during the time when I was basically over the diarrhea and getting back to normal again. I have had an MRI and contrast CT scan. Appendicitis and Pancreatitis was ruled out by various doctors. They scanned every organ in my abdomen. Nothing. The ER said to go see a Gastroenterologist. A couple of weeks ago I had an Upper Endoscopy of the stomach and duodenum.
Avatar f tn Doctors prescribed to many antibiotics which led to my acid reflux. Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
4842016 tn?1372039067 so I thought I've been having heartburn this whole pregnancy, and while I get it occasionally it's not what I've been getting daily. I just figured out that it's acid reflux and I think I've had it since before I got pregnant cuz I could go through a bottle of tums in no time but it's just getting worse. had anyone else had this problem, if so what did your doctor do fur you?
1210142 tn?1266077031 I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole. Please, let me know what your opinion is and have you heard about any interaction between those two? I don’t need an additional heart attack.
Avatar m tn Hi I am nineteen yrs old and for the past six months I've had pain while urinating and just a month ago foamy urine development. The urinalysis was normal. A renal ultrasound performed was also normal as was the results of a prostate exam. The urologist said not to worry about it. I also have hyperacidity and black stools from time to time as well as a constant (more or less) pain on my upper right stomach. Probably an ulcer. I'm taking pantoprazole for it now.
Avatar n tn I was having the nausea problem and my doctor put me on an anti-ulcer/heartburn (even though I did not have heartburn) medication (pantoprazole). After a week the nausea went away. Yes, stress could make this worse. Do get it checked out.
Avatar f tn I just had a pneumonia almost 2 months ago and i had ulcer last November but already been cured by pantoprazole domperidone. Now i feel like my ulcer reoccured again coz im having heartburn, stomach pain and bloating and nauseous. My question is can i take pantoprazole again even though i just had pneumonia and still having shortness of breath and chest pain? Pls help coz i dont know what really is the cause of my difficulty in breathing is it from having pneumonia or my ulcer.
Avatar f tn I should also mention that I had a clear colonoscopy which is great. However, the pain never really seemed to be lower- it's between my navel and rib cage often radiating to my back. The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.
Avatar f tn I suffered with heartburn almost all my pregnancy...I'm so upset I didn't tell my Dr sooner because I thought he would tell me tums or zantac..but he prescribed a medication named pantoprazole sod 40 mg. Girl every since I started it I have had no heartburn at all, not even that gassy bloated feeling I also had...so talk to your Dr about the medication and see what he says. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Tecta (which from my research, I believe is Pantoprazole) is a PPI and Zantac is a H2 blocker, so the answer most likely is that, yes you can take both of these together, but I would still recommend checking this out with your doctor.
Avatar m tn I was down with Chikungunya in August 2016 and have abnormal burping since then. I was taking pantoprazole 40mg twice a day along with Antacid but nothing worked. In Jan 2017, I started having pain in lower abdominal and was given Normaxin for approx 20 days - twice a day. No more pain until August 2017. Gradually it started getting better after couple of months and I stopped taking antacid but was taking pantoprazole regularly.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! From your profile I see that you are a teenager and I assume you live in the US. I would guess that this is anxiety, which I see that you also have from your profile. Pantoprazole (Protonix) is only by perscription and treats GERD which I don't think you have and Domperidone is not FDA approved in the US so I would not recommend either of these suggestion.
Avatar f tn t work for everyone, but gosh.. I plan on stocking up for my next pregnancy! I slept with them on my nightstand, carried them in my purse, and ate them for dessert! lol my heartburn was no joke.. congrats & good luck!
Avatar f tn My doctor has prescribed mylan-pantoprazole(40mg) to take once a day first thing in the morning. This is for acid-reflux but i am worried that my other symptoms make this a bigger issue. I have anxiety issues nowadays as well, I am constantly worried about my kids, my family, my life...everything. including worrying about people dying including myself at this point with this sickness i am terrified that something is seriously wrong and i will end up dying from this.
Avatar m tn Then I started having stomach pains and I was put on the antacid pantoprazole and a stool softener for constipation. After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it. I still don't know what initially caused the bloating, why it ramped up to GERD so quickly off the medication, and how damaged my LES is now.
Avatar f tn Had endoscopy week ago. Still have nausea. Taking Pantoprazole for week. All tests/biopsy negative. Thanks.
