pancreatitis

Avatar n tn I had acute pancreatitis in 2017 which landed me in the hospital for a week. They removed part of my pancreas due to a large stone being logged and waited for liver to resume functioning to remove my gallbladder. I have been on a liquid diet since leading to malabsorption. I am always in pain,I look 9 months pregnant and vomit acid regularly as well as watery bowls.
756668 tn?1287228987 Even though it was laproscopic, gallbladder surgery is Major surgery. I know that I did not really realize the extent of this until I went on youtube and watched a few of the surgeries. If you stay nauseated and it doesn't get better, then you HAVE to call the surgeon for some follow up tests. Epsecially to make sure you don't have any stones in the biliary tract, etc. Also to make sure you haven't developed any infection. If anyone else has any comments I myself would love to hear.
Avatar f tn I have considered everything, from thyroid disease(runs in the family) to chronic pancreatitis, to gall bladder disease. I don't know. and I can't afford to go to the doctors and do a bunch of unnecessary test.

Avatar f tn I have autoimmune pernicious anaemia (unable to absorb vitamin B12 through the gut). Symptoms occur in the "normal" range. The B12 reference range is far too low in most countries. In Japan, a deficiency is found in levels under 550 pg/ml (400pmol/L). When I corrected my B12 my folate increased as well. Besides autoimmune pernicious anaemia I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis, alopecia areata, vitiligo and joint hypermobility syndrome.

Avatar n tn So this isn't actually new. I've had this off and on for a while, I want to say 6 months, but it might be longer. I'm actually hesitant to call it a pain as that's not really accurate. It's almost a "pressure" or "presence" I feel no lump, no swelling, nothing like that. Not that I can see anyway. It comes and goes, sometimes it is a very mild pain, maybe a 1.5/10 if that. about 3 nights ago when I got into bed it kinda shot up to maybe a 4.
Avatar f tn Amylase & Lipase are indicators in reference to your pancreas.. Do you also have pancreatitis? Usually a viral load that bounces within that range over many years would not be treated with interferon/riboviran therapy. Did your hepatologist recommend therapy? Even if he/she did you should get a second opinion.
Avatar f tn I would recommend the reading of a book by Dr. David Williams, Fat Belly, in case you have not read it yet. Also watch his videos on YouTube. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I refused an ERCP because I am an RN and have seen to many patients develop pancreatitis from the ERCP. I am currently taking bile salts and a digestive enzyme. I just started the supplements a few days ago I will update on how they help! Any input is greatly appreciated. These are just my thoughts after much research. Doctors are not miracle workers, we have to help them when we can. Write down what triggers it, when it's worse, what helps.
Avatar f tn So that's why the approach is to just watch and wait, before considering a biopsy which in itself carries some risk. Pancreatitis, by the way, can cause vomiting.
3227046 tn?1458317076 I have an awful feeling that it won't solve my inability to function and/or I will need further procedure which could also be unsuccessful in restoring my vitality. It's been P.S. I had sepsis and pancreatitis with blocked common duct before getting my gall bladder removed four years ago. I don't know if that matters, but I've only gone downhill. ..slowly at first, then the last year just progressively useless. I take armour thyroid 60mg and no one really cares about my thyroid.
Avatar f tn I had given her fluids at home and the next day when I brought her for an ultrasound of her abdomen, they thought from an xray that she had possible pancreatitis and had given her more meds for that, she had a large bruise at the site of the fluids. That day her dvm told me she was severely anemic and she thought Angie was dying... the dvm was very upset- she was crying. I took Angie to a speciality hospital where she was given iv fluids, pain killers and tested.
Avatar n tn Ultrasounds, bloodwork, etc. and we confirmed megacolon, chronic pancreatitis and now hepatic lipidosis (because he stopped eating for several days.) Also suspected IBD, which is tough to diagnose (basically you rule most everything else out.) To spare the long story, we've now ruled our intestinal lymphoma, and are 90% sure he has either IBD or some kind of small intestine inflammation. Why I'm posting: he flared up again this week.
Avatar m tn Your potassium levels are in low normal range. You could try potassium supplements if available (no OTC potassium supplements in Australia) although if you have kidney problems you have to be careful with magnesium and potassium supplements. My kidneys are not up to scratch (likely due to damage from chronic insulin resistance) and taking magnesium supplements to correct my magnesium deficiency caused subacute kidney failure/metabolic acidosis.
Avatar m tn Finally, after suffering with this pain, I went to the er the next day and was admitted for acute pancreatitis. Needless to say, I don't advocate the use of Victoza. The only plus of using the medication was the weight loss, although, I'm not sure it was worth all the pain.
Avatar f tn There are lots of places to order hcg, most overseas. If you google it on youtube you will find great advice on where to buy (I use all day chemist). I've just started round 3, I only do short 23 day rounds, but I'm now at a total of 50 pounds lost! I still have a ways to go, but I can't say enough good things about the hcg protocol. It is a great way to kick start your weight loss and give you confidence and immediate results. It's not a diet for everyone, just like no diet is.

Avatar n tn Researching on the internet has my mind racing and has me a bit panicky as I'm reading about horrible things like bowel cancer and pancreatitis. Anyway, the pain is a dull achy feeling that is just under the edge of my left ribcage. Is this just an upset stomach from drinking too much when I normally don't? Even 3 days later? My stool has been normal, and my appetite is still intact, so those are good signs. Maybe I'm just aging and my body is taking longer to recover from drinking.

Avatar f tn I found this site while getting information on my Mini Schnauzer who has kidney failure and is having a bout with Pancreatitis. I will share my story at a later time. I just want you to know that you did everything possible for your Cissy and she is no longer suffering. I had a dog die in my arms 20 years ago and have had to put down 2 since. They are like your babies and they can never be replaced.
Avatar n tn Pain under the left shoulder blade can be a signal that there is a problem with the stomach or other abdominal structures (ulcers, pancreatitis, ectopic pregnancy) or in the chest (myocardial infarction [heart attack], pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, aortic dissection)." Has anyone been given a diagnosis related to internal organs are opposed to muscular pain?
