Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis ultrasound video

pancreatitis

Avatar f tn I am really worried that this was liver disease and/or acute pancreatitis. GI doctor says that based on ultrasound, CT scan, endoscopy and MRCP, there is no way that this abdominal pain is related to liver disease and/or pancreatitis. My job requires a lot of travel and entertaining (i.e. social drinking). GI doctor said that there is "no risk" from social drinking, and I am safe to get back to "work". Does this sound right?
Avatar n tn Barely sleeps, significant weight loss, and constipation. Ultrasound came back clear, fatty liver. Endoscopy negative. Blood work normal except this last check the included the CA 19-9, came back at 473. Ct had shown mild pancreatitis with pancreatic duct dilation. EUS procedure was scheduled and now canceled due to coronavirus. Do we have reason to worry is this most likely just pancreatitis.
20820562 tn?1524877846 She was constipated and vomiting. The vet took blood work that showed she had pancreatitis and kidney disease. Her BUN was 76 and creatinine 5.6. Her pancreatic function numbers were (Am) 2148 and (LP) 2792. She was on IV fluids overnight and her numbers barely changed for her kidneys but her pancreas function numbers were (Am) 441 and (LP)550.
Avatar n tn I recently was hospitalized for acute pancreatitis. An ultrasound was done of my gallbladder and it was normal as was the CT scan of my pancreas. My doctor still thinks I have gallbladder disease and ordered a HITA scan done. I have no symptoms of gallbladder problems, but the scan from what I could see and from comments by the technician indicated almost no contraction, a large gallbladder, and from what I could see no emptying of the gallbladder.
Avatar f tn In the last month my cousin has had gall bladder pancreatitis, their gall bladder removed and for about the last 10 days they have been getting very little sleep due to a burning/tingling sensation in the top of their legs. The legs are numb/dull sensation when touched. They can live with the numbness/dull sensation but not the pain/burning. They are on pain killers but that is not treating the source of the problem. We have noticed in the last couple of days that their thighs are very swollen.
Avatar n tn I recently had a bout of acute pancreatitis that resolved in about 2-3 days. I had been eating a pretty high fat diet for a few days and was taking tylenol 3 for a dental procedure. AP was verified via CT w/contrast but my panc enzymes remained normal throughout the attack. I am concerened that the attack may be a sign of a cronic conditon due to my previous history of alchohol. The CT scan did not show anything other than the hazy pancreas, impression pancreatitis.
Avatar f tn Elevated lipase, especially when more than 3x the reference range, is suspicious for pancreatitis (difficult to see on ultrasound). Differential diagnosis of pancreatic cyst includes pseudocyst (in the setting of pancreatitis), sidebranch IPMN, or serous or mucinous cystic neoplasm. MRI/MRCP, as suggested by your GI doc, can help to further characterize.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor and my blood tests were normal as well as an abdominal ultrasound. It eventually stopped for a few months but now has been back for the last three months and pretty much every day now. The pain is not extremely intense but is very noticeable and at times strong. My labs were normal for the most part except for elevated alkaline phosphatase and an ultrasound this time showed slight calcium deposits in the tail of the pancreas but did not show up on an abdominal xray.
Avatar f tn I recently had an ultrasound that said I had a borderline enlarged pancreatic duct (4.2 mm). I do not have pancreatitis. I am wondering about causes, if there are any besides cancer or pancreatitis. That is all I have found on this subject. Am scared.
Avatar f tn If it is the bile ducts you can have stents put in. Bile duct problems can cause pancreatitis or vice versa. I am a long time sufferer from pancreatitis and sod. If you have problems with backed up bile ducts it could certainly have caused the sepsis you had. IT will push toxins in to the blood stream and make you sick. An ultrasound will be better in finding a blockage in your duct. But the best way is an ercp.
Avatar n tn I agree with crambone check it out.
Avatar m tn cyclopam or meftal - spas, then we take her to hospital, they admitted her n done blood tests, ultrasound, abodomen x-rays and CT scan too. as she stated complaining severe backache too. in her CT scan doctors found her pencreas head size is bit bulky, they called it as Pencreas mild infection. but for secrure side they did MRCP too. everything was normal, only that infection they found. after this doctors stopped her food n water even. Daily her Blood tests done(Lipase n Amylase).
Avatar f tn I have been having bad upper stomach and mid chest pains for about 2 and a half weeks, which is coming from the pancreatitis diagnoses i got a couple or 3 years ago. The last couple of bowel movements I had looked weird. They looked like a whole lot of pieces glued together, really ragged, not smooth as they normally are. Does anybody know if that's a normal part of pancreatits?
Avatar n tn Door, autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is an unusual form of pancreatitis that has only recently been recognized as a distinct disorder. AIP is an unusual form of chronic pancreatitis. The immune system mistakenly attacks healthy pancreas tissue, causing inflammation and hardening. Symptoms closely mimic pancreatic cancer (pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma), but the disease process is different. It can be a multisystem disorder in which the disease can affect other parts of the body.
Avatar m tn My boxer was hospitalized today with severe pancreatitis. Her pancreatic enzymes are off the charts, it is so severe. This was an acute case and she hasn't had it before. She absolutely NEVER eats anything othet than her commercial dog kibble, especially due to multiple food allergies. She's my service dog (in training) so she is always with us, so we know she didn't eat something she shouldn't have. The vet has no idea what could make her so critically ill.
Avatar f tn My son is 10 years old. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis on March 7. Follow up CT showed less inflammation of the pancreas. An MRCP was normal. Through all of this, his lipase and amylase are still very elevated. They have decreased some since his hospitalization, but they are far from normal (last blood work had lipase at 14 times normal and amylase was 4 times normal). He does not have any pain. He is eating an extremely low fat diet and has restrictions on his activites.
8531206 tn?1400096419 has anyone gotten a HdLive ultrasound? I want to know if it's worth the extra money or should I get a regular 3d.
Avatar m tn For the last few months I have had a constant gnawing achy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I have had labs for liver enzymes all normal, cholesterol all normal (trigs are 224 non fasting), all CMP labs within normal range. I had a complete abdominal ultrasound which was completely normal, (unable to view pancreas due to bowel gas). My doctor started me on kapidex which caused the symptoms to get worse. Dr says it's GERD, but it just constantly aches in the upper quadrants both of them.
Avatar n tn ve had 3 more of these since and have since develped pancreatitis. If the ER did not do an ultrasound of the gallbladder, have your family physician order it. If this is normal, you need to see a gastroenterologist. Good Luck.
Avatar n tn (I dont drink or smoke though) I had normal lipase amalyse and normal ultrasound but doctor suspects pancreatitis and asking me to do CTEC which I dont want to do because of radiation and other risks. Why it has not settled in these 5 months? I always thought antibiotics cause lower stomach pain but pain is in the upper stomach and is very severe.
Avatar f tn My chocolate lab "Skip" is about 10 years old and developed pancreatitis for the first time. We took him to the doctor he never vomited or diahrea until the day after he got to the vets office. His amalyse was high like 8000 and his glucose and white blood count low but we got an ultrasound to make sure not cancer. He started to show improvements with the IV and antibiotic. Now a week later he is starting to decline and the vet has tried everything.
Avatar m tn I am a 22 year old male and the doctors think i have pancreatitis. I was admitted to the hospital due to high amalyse and lipase levels and they are still high 3 weeks later. I had an MRCP and Ultrasound and they came back normal. The MRCP found inflammation in my pancreas, and i still have pale stools and high blood levels. What do I have? What are the chances i have pancreatic cancer?
Avatar m tn I have had pancreatitis before and this does feel very similar. Fortunately, this time it went away but pancreatitis is extremely painful and doesn't go away. I was kept in the hospital for 7 days, no food, no water, intravenous fluids and strong pain medication every 2 to 4 hours as needed! I NEVER want to experience that again but I can't help but fear that I will. My pancreas was damaged by both the diabetes and by the pancreatitis so my chances are high of having this reoccur.
328927 tn?1227761840 Finally figured out how to save still photos from the DVD video of ultrasounds, and posted the ones from today's visit. I wish ya'll could see the video, b/c the twins are poking, prodding, kicking, punching each other (doc calls it "exploring") through the membrane that separates them! It's hilarious. Babies are doing great: Henry weighs 13 oz. and Cadence weighs 12 oz. The average weight at this stage is 9 oz., so these guys are BIG!
Avatar n tn The doctors have been reluctant to do another ERCP, I concurred, because of an attack of acute pancreatitis after the manometry/ERCP, but I have had many CAT scans, several MRIs, and one internal abdominal ultrasound in 2001. My most recent CAT scan was spring of 2007. It was normal. The only abnormal finding was seen during the ultrasound and it was attributed to aging. Despite normal results I continue to have intermittent pain and now my burning pain has extended to the groin area.
