Avatar f tn Wikipedia lists potential causes of Panniculitis. Panniculitis can also be classified based on the presence or absence of systemic symptoms: Panniculitis without systemic disease can be a result of trauma or cold;[5] Panniculitis with systemic disease can be caused...
Avatar f tn Three years ago I was remodeling a house(tearing down walls, mouse droppings, mold, etc) and got an infection that didn't go away. The first symptoms were general flu like with an erratic pulse that would wake me at night and continued throughout the day. Since then I've not been able to breathe the same but recently it's become much worse.
Avatar n tn I can be tired after 12 hours sleep! Can I be suffering symptoms from my thallassemia. Does any one else feel the same way that I do? This is a little bit hard for me, but I don't want to complain.
Avatar n tn I think the stool you are talking about is something called Steatorrhea. Wikipedia lists the causes of Steatorrhea very well and covers everything you need to know: Steatorrhea is from excess fat. Stools can float if there is excess lipid. They can appear oily and may smell especially foul. Oily anal leakage and/or fecal incontinence are possible. Steatorrhea is the key! There are a number of things that can cause it and you've got to narrow it down based on your other symptoms.
Avatar m tn I have read the following online in regards to double-balloon enteroscopy: "Common side-effects after a DBE include: • Sore throat • Abdominal bloating • Nausea • Minor bleeding These are usually mild and resolve within 12 to 24 hours.
Avatar m tn But of course there could be any number of reasons for your symptoms. Check on Wikipedia for the numerous causes of peripheral neuropathy. From B12 awareness: "What are the Causes of B12 Deficiency?
Avatar m tn Prednisone mainly acts to speed up the aging process of the body. Hence, hardening of the arteries will accelerate, cholesterol is higher, osteoporosis is faster and more severe, the blood sugar is higher, cataracts form, muscles atrophy and lose strength, fat forms around the abdomen, the legs thin, and the skin thins. In general, think of any aging effect that you see on any organ and prednisone will accelerate this effect.
Avatar f tn I'll tell you what I know. Women are half as likely to have PSC than men. I don't know what "asks" is. I do know that auto-antibodies are usually present. I found this at Wikipedia: "Diagnosis The diagnosis is by imaging of the bile duct, usually in the setting of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP, endoscopy of the bile duct and pancreas), which shows "beading" (both strictures and dilation) of the intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts.
Avatar f tn I don't know whether these are due to overmedication (Thyroid Erfa) or undermedication. I am hypercalcemic. The neck muscles are also weak and stiff when I have those other symptoms. Ihave also a slightly enlarged lymph nodule(?) in the neck. The parathyroids were not seen in MRI scannin for parathyroids. I have a lung tumour (not specified what it is). Yesterday I saw a neurologist. He prescribed a MRI of the neck region of the vertebral column. The neurological tests were normal.

Avatar n tn I get how distraught you are based on what you are saying about these symptoms so I am not trying to dismiss what is happening and I have no doubt that was already considered but again it was the first thing that entered my pea sized brain. I couldn't imagine going through what you are going through, especially having kids! Good luck and keep us posted!
Avatar m tn I have problems with my nose and have too much mucous in the throat, and these symptoms (and PATM also) is most strongly when I sweat. My PATM worse if I stressed too. Reading last posts at this forum, I also think that Serratia Marcescens is the main reason of PATM. I read that this bacteria feed carbs. Few weeks ago I was on diet with no carbs. After about 5 days my allergy (and my PATM) decreased (and also my tongue become healthy, before this it was white).
1932256 tn?1327949940 It's used off-label (meaning it hasn't been studied for this purpose) to help withdrawal symptoms. Blood pressure skyrockets during detox so that's one reason this medication helps. You need an addiction doctor to prescribe it since it's use for withdrawal isn't listed in the medical literature. Some ER doctors will dispense it too. I applaud your son's efforts to detox but I agree with gnarly - he's tapering so fast that he's making himself physically ill.
Avatar n tn There has got to be something to this and I'm thinking it would be a great thesis paper for a graduating medical student! I'm 30 and have experienced these symptoms throughout my 'drinking life' every time I consume the slightest amount of alcohol. I don't drink beer as I can't take the taste but prefer wine coolers or grain alcohol drinks. I drink rarely, about every other month or two, but when I do it doesn't take long for crippling shoulder pain, yawning, and fatigue to result.
1358341 tn?1282213443 Renal failure usually is not caught till the cat starts showing symptoms like Excessive water intake, frequent urination, vomiting, constipation, Diarrhea, loss of appetite, etc. Sometimes if a cat is dehydrated or has an infection their bun and creatine levels can go up and then come down after treatment.. That's all I know, I also am not a vet but a pet owner who has also lost one of her cats due to a four year battle with CRF...
Avatar n tn this subject has come up several times recently, check the threads dated 12/14 by doubledose(SVRs, post tx....), 12/13 by Layla(post tx...) and 12/11 by Jonihs(for those who finished....). There might be some mention within other threads of post tx sides, but the threads mentioned might give you a good headstart of other svrs that have checked in and commented already, while you wait for answers here.
Avatar n tn The major withdrawal symptoms lasted just over one week but I still feel that I am experiencing some mild symptoms. Could I be right? I have a question... has anyone heard of phantom pain after withdrawal? I have pains that I'm not sure there are a physiological reason for. I would love to hear from anyone who needs support or has answers to my questions.
Avatar n tn ) type symptoms for HOURS until they subside...sometimes hycosamine will work...sometimes 4 tums...and once and a while nothing but time cures it.....I have been told IBS....and intestinal intussusuption (found on two CT scans)diverticulitis...then I started to read up on Sphinter of Oddi syndrome...and it was like I was reading stories NOT from others suffering from it...but like I had written them myself....
Avatar n tn I saw another post about atrial fibrillation and stomach gas possible association or connection. I too have the same thing so it may not be all in your head if your suspect this to be the case. Most dr.'s think your crazy or never heard of this when you even suggest it. Thats whats wrong with most dr's atleast in my experience in that they don't think outside the box enough possibly because this is what they learned.
Avatar n tn When I put my head underwater in the tub there is a disturbing noise. I have not had any fibers but my other symptoms match with Morgellans disease the fiber producing disease. I have been able to see a lot of very tiny fly residue by the ceiling light fixture. I can clean it out and more reappears. This living in an air-conditioned house with windows closed. The other rooms don't get this, just the one I sleep in. The medical community has not diagnosed this problem.
Avatar n tn The paralysis is one of the symptoms. The mind is still in a state of sleep where physical movements are prevented so one doesn't act out dreams and cause injury while sleeping. I currently take Provigil (daytime) and Celexa (nightime). I also have trouble staying awake w/o Provigil. For years my sleepiness, irritability, etc. were blamed on depression. It has been a valid diagnosis as far as I can tell. I can function fairly well now. I am a 48 yr. old male. Hope this helps.
