Avatar m tn They also found out that he had very severe acute pancreatitis. Additionally as they scanned him, they found he had a cyst on his pancreas. He was in hospital for a couple of weeks and got better gradually. Doctors established that he had acute pancreatitis and secondary diabetes. The cyst was drained.
Avatar f tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pancreatitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20360227 It's my understanding that sometimes in severe scaring cases they will do surgery or use nerve blocks to help. But more information would be beneficial for more discussion.
Avatar n tn I have read that gallbladder surgery is dangerous in the presence of pancreatitis and that the pancreatitis can also cause gallbladder disease or vice versa. Anyone had similar question?
Avatar n tn Doctor says it could be Pancreatitis but my symptoms are not exactly of Pancreatitis, although pain is severe and it radiates to back but eating (although I eat very little) doesnt particularly increases the pain. Pain moves around upper middle and upper left stomach. It is unbearable and has disabled me I cant do anything and from the past 5 months I am bed ridden. Anybody has any idea what it is? could it be pancreatitis?
Avatar m tn I had severe case of acute pancreatitis this past spring. (Docs have no idea what caused it.) My digestion has changed in a strange way. If I get too hungry or wait too long between meals, sometimes my epigastric center will hurt. It stops immediately if I eat (not drink). Anything. I'm assuming this is some sort of GERD. Never, ever had any kind of GERD issues or digestives. before. Of note, I do have a "low functioning" gallbladder.
Avatar m tn My boxer was hospitalized today with severe pancreatitis. Her pancreatic enzymes are off the charts, it is so severe. This was an acute case and she hasn't had it before. She absolutely NEVER eats anything othet than her commercial dog kibble, especially due to multiple food allergies. She's my service dog (in training) so she is always with us, so we know she didn't eat something she shouldn't have. The vet has no idea what could make her so critically ill.
Avatar m tn Dr, Choi, I have the following symptoms, but have had mixed opinions from my doctors. My family doc thinks I have GERDS, while my Gastro believes I may have chronic pancreatitis. Here are my symptoms: Nearly constant central, upper abdominal pain since August 6, 2010. Pain is gnawing, burning, like heartburn or severe hunger pains. Pain is entirely absent at night while sleeping, and absent first thing in the morning. I sleep well.
936335 tn?1246412231 Your symptoms could be SO many things including microscopic sludge/stones in the common bile duct, gallbladder problems, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction, Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth, acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, autoimmune pancreatitis, mininal change chronic pancreatitis, etc., etc., etc. Pancreatic and ductal pain is among the most horrendous pain there is. If you cannot manage your pain, talk to your primary care physician and ask for some medication!
Avatar n tn What would cause this? I have no other symptoms of pancreatitis and am able to eat just fine. However, they did find I am constipated pretty badly.
Avatar f tn ve ever had is a (drum roll please)...................CRAMP????? Hahahahaha, dipshit! All my symptoms point to Pancreatitis. I am going to my regular GI Doc on Tues, excited to maybe get some answers. I also "googled" the results of my Transvaginal Ultrasound, ha! I seem to have a "Complex" cyst on my left ovary. Those are the kind that have to be evaluated right away and removed, they are not good!
Avatar f tn 3 weeks on life support followed by two more operations for necrosis of colon due to adhesions from gynaecological surgery many years ago. I now have upper stomach pain, severe back pain at same level, fever, headaches and itching. Could this be pancreatitis?
Avatar m tn m not a big drinker, and in fact have had no alcohol (or any other vice) for probably 5 months in effort to lose weight. The symptoms are making me think chronic pancreatitis based on what I have read though I have had no symptoms like this prior to the initial event. Over the course of a few months, the symptoms do not seem to be worsening, which is good, but also not getting better.
Avatar n tn However these symptoms are new and some are acute, others not. What would cause severe acute constipation, dry eyes, fatigue and flushed face? Had to visit ER with possible impaction. Acute dramatically painful, drop to the floor pain but ct didn't show impact. They did say it could be there but not show up. Did check for kidney stones. After episode took several stool softener, lax and an enema. Finally broke it loose. Been fatigued, dry eyes and flushed.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm also a 22 yrs old patient who is having upper left abodominal pain for like a year, I had CTscan, abdominal ultrasound, Barium enema, Sigmoidoscopy and everything turned out to be normal.
Avatar f tn my dog has had pancreatitis 2 times he is 8 yrs old and he hasnt shown symptoms in 2 yrs. we got a kitten over the weekend and the dog ended up eating the cat food a couple of times. now he has diahrea and i have seen a couple blood drops by the poop. Is there something i can do for him other then take him to the vet. It is the same exact symtoms as last time so i really dont need to pay a couple hunred dollars for them to tell me what i already know.
Avatar f tn edu/a_to_z/chronic-pancreatitis-a-to-z I do not blame you one bit for trying to find other avenues to explore besides chronic pancreatitis. The treatent for that is just managing symptoms. Does your husband journal food intake to get a handle on any triggers to avoid?
Avatar f tn I have the same symptoms but I havent been diagnosed with pancreatitis. My uncle and aunt both told me at different times to drink cabbage juice and or aloe juice.... Now all I've done is cut the cabbage in quarters and put it in the juicer with an apple and carrot to sweeten it up. Unless it's in my mind, it seems to be helping... As for the aloe juice, I usually get it from my local grocery store, it even comes in mango flavor and they're both pretty tasty.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with mild pancreatitis over 4 years ago it is on going. I currently still am experiencing slight pain on my right side. I have been seen by a GI doctor and a CT Scan, Ultra sound, MRCP have been performed. No issues have been found, I asked if it could be cancer and was told no tumors or cist we found wehn reviewing the xrays. We then tried to stop my BP meds thinking they could be the cause, but I could not stay off of them long enough to make a determination.
Avatar n tn I have had chronic pancreatitis for 18 years so I feel like I have a handle on what the symptoms are! I had my first pancreatitis attack after an ERCP in 1990. The pain is in the epigastric region and is a pain like you have never felt before. Completely debilitating! A full blown attack hits you instantly with very sharp intense pain in the epigastric region that goes straight through to your back. With each of these attacks, I would start vomiting and would be vomiting bile.
Avatar n tn From the vague symptoms ic ould be anything ranging from bad gas t pancreatitis.. the stomache, pancrease and intestines are on the left side of your body, an exacerbation of any of those areas could contribute to your problem ..
Avatar m tn I have had pancreatitis before and this does feel very similar. Fortunately, this time it went away but pancreatitis is extremely painful and doesn't go away. I was kept in the hospital for 7 days, no food, no water, intravenous fluids and strong pain medication every 2 to 4 hours as needed! I NEVER want to experience that again but I can't help but fear that I will. My pancreas was damaged by both the diabetes and by the pancreatitis so my chances are high of having this reoccur.
Avatar f tn How is it possible ...can the High Lipase results mean something else ? Doc so sure he dx me with Severe Pancreatitis ... and everyone where I work ( a surgery center ) came to me to see if I was okay and wanted to go home ... I was okay ??? Please is there anyone who can give me some understanding on this ...or am I just being spared the pain ?? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/231860'>pancreatitis vs crohns-how can you tell?!?
Avatar f tn I believe there are some reports of pancreatits when using this medication, however, if you only took them a half hour before being taken to the hospital, I don't believe the med could be the cause of the issue. You may want to consider looking for other causes.
