Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis symptoms neck pain

pancreatitis

Avatar f tn I have abdominal distention, squeezing pain that starts in abdomen and moves up my body to my neck, drilling feeling behind lower left ribs, extreme fatigue, pain in abdomen, pain in joints, swelling, etc.. I have "a bunch" of Esophogeal Ulcurs and an inflamed stomach, this issue was addressed. I have been to several Dr.'s that don't seem to CARE about ME as a whole.
Avatar n tn Because the vet gave us muscle relaxants and rimadahl to give for pain management, his pancreatitis flared up again. Now he is in the hospital on intravenous fluids and pain med injections. I just want to know anyone's thoughts on this? I really believe if he didn't have problems with his neck, the pancreatitis would have been controllable. But b/c of his "slipped disk" in his neck steroids is usually the treatment, but he can't have steroids b/c of the pancreatitis.
Avatar f tn I fell ill the end of July beginning of August. My symptoms started out as headaches and extreme fatigue. Then I started to pass out unexpectedly. My dr. Had discovered that I was having problems with my thyroid and I also had pancreatitis. I have gone on a medicine for my thyroid finally and the pancreatitis has gone. But there are still complications. I have been passing out when I stand up sit up to drive or even lay down to take a nap except for today thank the Lord.
Avatar f tn i have also done research that back and neck pain have been known to come about from gallstones (which i always assumed from my period). i noticed this became more sever when i drank alcohol, i did some research and assumed i had an ulcer, so i called my family doctor and said what i thought was wrong and i went in and he gave me prevacid to see if it would help and i would have to go back in 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn In the absence of these findings its unlikely that you have chronic pancreatitis. The other causes for the pain could be infections of the bowel and bladder, prolapsed intervertebral disc or inflammatory diseases of the colon. So, if your symptoms persist discuss these options with your doctor. Regards.
Avatar m tn Hi Kelley. I'm so sorry to hear about your little boxer. Pancreatitis is a terrible disease for dogs (and people) to endure. If your vet hasn't yet performed an ultrasound, that will be the next step. They'll need to check to see how swollen the pancreas is, if there is something like a tumor or pseudo-cyst, or even a birth defect causing the trouble. It's even possible there is something blocking the pancreatitic or common bile duct at the root of the problem.
Avatar f tn Thought it might just be a crick in my neck. A week later pain still constant but than as suddenly pain in belly button appeared and pain in shoulder gone. Than horrible pain in middle of chest and back between both shoulder blades after drinking a margarita and eating fried chicken which I hardly ever do.

Avatar f tn and i did have pancreatitis last year and spent three days in the hospital. But the pain has only gotten worse. I hope they find out on the 30th so i can get some relief.
Avatar m tn I have the same pain in the same area. I have disc herniations in my neck that cause the shoulder blade pain as well as the radiation to the left arm. I would be shocked if the Dr's never considered this as the cause of your pain. Just a suggestion and would be worth asking your doc about it. Hope you figure it all out. Good luck!
Avatar m tn When this muscle shortens, this can press on brachial plexus (bundle of nerves and blood vessels in the armpit) and the subclavian artery and can compress or irritate these structures and cause symptoms such as abnormal sensation, cold extremity, spasms of pain, and lymphedema (swelling of lymph channels causing swelling of arm or leg) in the involved extremity. A chiropractor can help you with this.
Avatar f tn Plus, does your pain begin in the middle of your stomach and move around in either direction? Are you having any pain between your shoulder blades? Even just one Shoulder Blade. You neck at the nap, Stools which are colorless, or clay colored? Usually float on top of water? Have you tried curling up in the fetal position and this gives you "a pinch of comfort?
Avatar f tn Last year was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Am again suffering from similiar symptoms. Hospital told me not to eat till I saw family doctor. He told me not to eat for 3 days, drink water only. Symptoms got better starting eating carbs after that. 8months later and similiar symptoms, fatigue, bloating. Shall I assume the liquid diet for a few days? Not sure what the doctor or hospital will do other than tell me that and don't want to waste 12 hours in the ER again, let alone the cost.
Avatar n tn t know how she got it. Ever since the pancreatitis she has been in pain just about every day (and missing quite a bit of school). It doesn't seem to make a difference as to the types of food she eats. She has tried going without milk for 4-5 days and without wheat for about a week. She was tested for food allergies also, which came back negative. The most pain she has is in her abdomen area, running horizontally from side to side and it is tender to press on.
Avatar n tn Hi, I wonder if anyone can offer any advice at all? I am reluctant to go to my GP, as I am currently being treated and investigated for so many other issues (diabetes, Cushing's disease to name just two!) and I'm sure he's going to think I'm a moaning hypochondriac! I had my gallbladder removed 18 months ago, following NO symptoms of gallstones (despite being full of them), BUT following an attack of acute pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn Had my upper back and shoulders ache after drinking a glass of water quickly. Also had the back of my neck and back ache after eating. Sometimes the back pain is in the center and under both shoulder blades. I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist tomorrow.
Avatar m tn So he doesnt think that its Chronic Pancreatitis but feels its acid pain. Now my pain is on and off. When I eat oily or spicy food it recurs with mild to moderate pain.
Avatar n tn (We manage it very well with diet and Vetsulin but it takes dedication, a rigid feeding schedule and 2 shots a day.) Keep an eye out for the symptoms once your pal is well. Early symptoms include increased drinking, iurinating more (accidents may be a sign), weight loss, increased appetite, dehydration and sudden cataract formation.
19079998 tn?1472020580 Down to my abdomen up to back of my neck. Usually, I feel the pain everytime after having my meals sometimes or on times of mental stress. In kinda worried because we have family history of heart problem. Now my question is, could it be possible that at my early age I do have my angina? Thanks in advance & Godbless.
Avatar f tn Pancreatitis can, indeed, cause back pain: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pancreatitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20360227 Please return to your doctor sooner rather than later to discuss your new onset back pain.
Avatar m tn They had no idea why he had the pain nor why he has all these long-term symptoms. He still did not have pancreatitis - inflammation levels were non-existent. He was scanned and told the only thing looking abnormal was that his pancreas looked 'bulky', but doctors didn't see that as a problem and made no further investigation as to why it's 'bulky'. He was sent home after a few days.
Avatar n tn did they say what caused the pancreatitis?,,,alcohol?...ya,the pain could last SOME TIME...and if it was alcohol,,stop drinking!,,or youll soon get it again!
Avatar m tn What makes me now wonder about chronic pancreatitis is that in the weeks following the disappearance of the rash the back pain has been joined by a pain in the pit of my gut or just below the rib cage at the upper stomach after eating a bigger meal or at night. Again, it is not debilitating but usually takes an hour or so to subside. I'm not a big drinker, and in fact have had no alcohol (or any other vice) for probably 5 months in effort to lose weight.
Avatar f tn Fluid therapy, regular blood work (sometimes several times a day), pain meds or a patch for pain and antibiotics are often used. This is a very painful condition. In pancreatitis, nutrients the dog needs are passed out in the feces, thus probably the reason for the weight loss (and that is quite a bit). Has he been checked for diabetes?
