Avatar n tn I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM THOSE WITH PANCREATITIS AND SOD, I WILL BE HAVING MY 6TH ERCP SINCE OCT TO REMOVE A STENT IN MY PANCREATIC DUCT, THIS TIME THEY WILL DO A SPINCTERECTOMY IN THE DUCT. ALSO, IF ANYONE HAS USED PANCREATIC ENZYMES..
1453931 tn?1285188953 Sorry to hear about your pancreatitis. Just a question how did you know you had chronic pancreatitis? I had my GB removed just like you in 2008. I had a bile leak and when they preformed a ERCP I got acute pancreatitis. It is a risk associated with the ERCP. Anyway after my amylase and lipase went down to normal I was checked out of the hospital. However since then I have had horrible nocturnal abdominal pain and it also happens when on an empty stomach longer than 4 hours.
902019 tn?1249865014 The other thing you may want to ask about is a comment I saw on the Mayo Clinic site that said that Imuran can cause or contribute to Pancreatitis. I'd love to know what he/she says on both counts.
Avatar n tn My husband and I told him our concerns about the possibility of my having pancreatitis, as I had the exact same symptoms. My doctor quickly dismissed it and sent me home with phenergan saying I more than likely had a virus and it would pass. After vomiting 14 days straight, I was back at my doctor's office... again, phenergan and go home.
Avatar n tn Other than that her symptoms go more with pancreatitis. Pain above her left ribcage that goes to her back - pain about her shoulder blades. When we saw the Dr.he had a complete blood work report in his hand and it showed raised amylase (131) and lipase levels (718) which I always thought showed pancreatitis. When I questioned him he said some people just have high levels and it is normal for them. I don't buy that.
Avatar m tn Was originally told transplant but then was informed that his liver enzymes are still functioning well at times to prevent us from being placed on liver transplant list and they just don't know why he is hurting so much - they refer us to a pain management center.
571337 tn?1233261897 I live with Chronic Pancreatitis. It took me ten yrs to find a doctor. Finally, after loosing so much weight, my internest, (reg doctor) referred me to Indianapolis, North side Gastroenterology. Well, the two procedures were, one to place a stent in bile duct. That one was not suppose to have made me have pancreatitis, but it was one in a million. I guess I was that ONE>\\ The next? Just 13 days ago? I had a celiac block done. In which they burn the nerves around the pancreas.
Avatar f tn I'm also experiencing an increase in numbness in my extremeties. Is all this normal? Why would my Sjogren's symptoms all of a sudden start worsening? I guess this is what they mean by a "flare up.
Avatar f tn Three years ago I was remodeling a house(tearing down walls, mouse droppings, mold, etc) and got an infection that didn't go away. The first symptoms were general flu like with an erratic pulse that would wake me at night and continued throughout the day. Since then I've not been able to breathe the same but recently it's become much worse.
Avatar n tn DO YOU THINK THAT MY SYMPTOMS ARE GALLBLADDER OR SOMETHING ELSE?
Avatar n tn I was only out of work for 2 weeks and during that time was somewhat out and about. Symptoms of a new illness presented in March, starting with a canker sore, and progressing to flu like symptoms. I noticed greenish/brown mucus and tooth pain and went to doctor for an anti-biotic (I think Bactrim). I took the antibiotic which seemed to clear up what I thought was a sinus infection but I still wasn't feeling better and my glands were very swollen (they still are too a degree).
Avatar n tn I can be tired after 12 hours sleep! Can I be suffering symptoms from my thallassemia. Does any one else feel the same way that I do? This is a little bit hard for me, but I don't want to complain.
418182 tn?1204508006 It may be hard for you to try to ID a cause with your diverse symptoms. I have very specific, consistent symptoms and the GE can't nail down the cause of my pain. Just stay as informed as possible and push those doctors to go the extra mile for you. Good luck, let us know what you find and how you're doing!!
Avatar n tn m with her in thinking pancreatic symptoms...they cause back pain and a mutiple of other symptoms. I assume they have done a scan of her liver as well??? Any history of fibroid tumors? I don't like the way you say she gets a "yellowish tinge" does this happen in her eyes as well? And have any blood work been done in regards to her liver and function? you could do a search on chronic pancreatitis and see what that turns up. Unfortunately today I find you almost have to dx yourself...

Avatar n tn I would love to know if you have found anything on your symptoms? My husband has the same symptoms but his has gotten worse in the last few weeks. I have researched Ulcerative Colitis and he has all the signs so I thought. After reading your symptoms he has the same ones even the excessive sweating. This is really scaring me because he says he feels like he is dying. So, if we get a diagnosis I will let you know.
Avatar n tn I've had some gastric trouble over the years that I am trying to solve right now, and these symptoms are new. Usually I get an 'attack' of upper gastric pain and vomiting, can't keep down water and eventually need to be hospitalised before dehydration makes it worse. The pain can persist through morphine, maxalon, tropisetron, pantoprazole, buscopan and stematil for hours. Usually it takes a minimum of 4 hours to bring the pain under control.
Avatar n tn An ERCP is good, too, but the patient needs to be aware that it is an invasive procedure and can actually cause a pancreatitis attack. The symptoms of CP are very similar to what you describe, some people have pain on the right where the head of the pancreas and main duct is, others in the middle or on the left, it just depends where the problem is. Back pain, nausea and vomiting often accompany this also. Too many people get misdiagnosed with IBS.
673049 tn?1225921298 Okay. So here's the deal. My mom is sick. Really sick. Here are some of her symptoms: -Hypomagnesia (I'll explain this one) -forgetfullness -trouble thinking clearly -fatigue & lethargy -depression -severe back pain -muscular issues The hypomagnesia is the worst of her symptoms. Her body doesn't take in magnesium like it should, and so she has to get intravenous infusions every week.
Avatar n tn Seems the pain is at the same place, almost feels like ulcers but doesn't go away or get worst when I eat. What are the classic symptoms for chronic pancreatitis and are they always severe?
Avatar n tn There is nothing worse than a pain you can't seem to treat or get an answer about. I can totally sympathize. There are so many causes of pain on the upper left side of a persons abdomen.
Avatar f tn There are many causes of elevated liver enzymes Quoted from Mayo clinic Many diseases and conditions can contribute to elevated liver enzymes. Your doctor determines the specific cause of your elevated liver enzymes by reviewing your medications, your signs and symptoms and, in some cases, other tests and procedures.
Avatar f tn I know its right behind the stomach on the left, and I heard that after having gall stones that cause pancreatitis, it could damage the pancreas. My surgeon had said that every time I had my gall stone attacks, the pain was mostly caused by the pacreatits because of the blocked bile duct. Could this have caused permanent damage to my pancreas? If so, what could I do?
1126279 tn?1311898642 Im wondering if you can really live without your pancreas?I have chronic pancreatitis and I take pancreas mt20 which helped a great deal but now it is getting to the point where its not working...Does this mean that there is no hope ? Avatar n tn HISTORY - She has been on high dose steroids (3mg/kg prednisone) for about 4 months due to hemangiomas in her airway. Had a surgical resection at 2 mo old, then resumed steroids when symptoms reappeared. Airway is currently stable. SYMPTOMS - Began having diarrhea which became progressively worse and was eventually accompanied by intermittent vomiting. We took her to our local Childrens' Hospital where she has received all her treatment, since she could not miss her steroids.
Avatar n tn The university had all my records and I was again showing all the classic symptoms of pancreatitis. Do what you have to do to get your son well. Don't stop seeking medical attention because a dr. said it was all in his head. If he is still having pain after all this time, it's my bet he will eventually be diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Write if you want more info and good luck to your son.
Avatar f tn His doctor could not find a reason for his pain until this summer when the pain got so bad he went into the emergency room and was diagnosed with pancreatitis. At that time gallstones were found so 2 weeks later his gallbladder was removed. He had some short lived relief for about 2 weeks then the pain returned and the nausea and vomiting continued. He was hospitalized again with pancreatitis and is now home on pain meds with no relief of the symptoms.
Avatar n tn One doctor suggested pancreatitis and a second opinion said no pancreatitis. I remained with symptoms of incessant fatigue, bowel changes, abdominal pain. The last few months I have had a weird "vibration" feeling in my abdomen. I have even reached for my cell phone thinking it was vibrating but realize no phone in pocket. It is more and more constant now when I am busy and when I am rest. What could this be?
