Pancreatitis symptoms fever

Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis symptoms fever

Avatar n tn I have had acute pancreatitis and now have chronic pancreatitis, so maybe I can answer some of your questions. Some symptoms of pancreatitis include a swollen and tender abdomen, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, sometimes a fever and rapid pulse. Weight loss is frequent. The nausea, pain and vomiting often follows a meal of some sort, and can be triggered more severely by foods heavy in fats. Often there is pain in the abdomen and between the ribs at the base of the sternum.
Avatar f tn 30 am crying, i asked him what was wrong, he stated he needed to go potty, but could not move his legs to get to the bathroom, by 7:30 am we were admitted into the local hospital. Where specialist after specialist came through my sons hospital room. None could tell me what was wrong with him. The two main symptoms other than the fever were diffuse and colicky belly pain, and joint pain in legs and arms. They did lab testing to discover his CRP came back @15.3 Sed Rate of 100.
Avatar f tn I had another ERCP and ended up in the hosital with abdominal pain and fever. The symptoms disappeared quickly but I had elevated liver enzymes and my WBC was high. My CT scan came back normal. I feel my symptoms sound like pancreatitis. But, could I have a normal CT scan and normal A&L levels and still have pancreatitis?
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed over one year ago. One week after having it removed I began to have abdominal pain that hurt through to my back. It is very painful and nothing helps. I've had multiple tests done and 2 ERCP's. After the first ERCP the pain stayed gone for 2 months and then returned. After 2nd ERCP, I ended up in the hospital with pain and fever. My CT scan was normal and so were my A&L levels.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply, my dr has not ordered the pancreatic enzyme labs yet, she feels it is GERD related. I suppose without any other symptoms of pancreatitis it would be low. I am a very anxious person so it's most likely a mixture of the two (GERD and Anxiety). I have no fever, no vomitting, no jaundice, I am at a loss.
Avatar n tn Feel free to post again if you have any more questions. What are the symptoms of chronic pancreatitis? The symptoms are very variable. Pain occurs in most patients at some stage of the disease. This may vary in intensity from mild to severe. It may last for hours or sometimes days at a time and may require strong painkillers to control it. It often radiates through to the back and can sometimes be relieved by crouching forward.
Avatar n tn How many of these type of bowel movements should I have before I call the doctor. Is this an emergency? (no fever, chill, etc.) The history of my symptoms is below: For a little over a year, i have been experiencing what I thought was just an anxiety symptom. I will urinate and then, by the time I have wiped and am pulling my pants up, I feel like I have to go again, but nothing comes out (maybe a drop or two). I do this up to 3 times.
902019 tn?1249865014 Usually have done well with prednisone for the various flare-ups but with AIP, still recurring symptoms and the elevated IgG4 periodically. Next step may be Imuran. Is there anyone out there who has had good results with Imuran for autoimmune pancreatitis?
Avatar n tn I felt very bloated in the stomach and proceeded to vomit later that evening. I ran a low fever the next day and felt sick but the following day I felt much better. The past few days I have experienced extreme gas & have felt bloated. Today I experienced soft but light colored stools. Is it possible that this is a temporary illnes or do the symptoms suggest something more serious? I did have three successive nights of heavy drinking prior to my ailment.
Avatar n tn severe abdonimal pain moving to the back, fever, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomitting. There may be yellowing of the skin. IBS symptoms are as follows: Diarrhea, and sometimes pain in the lower abdomen. The pain is often stopped by having a bowel movement. Hope this helps a little and good luck!!
Avatar n tn This sounds more like an acute Pancreatitis attack. Chronic Pancreatitis, to my knowledge, does not have the type symptoms you indicate. Acute pancreatitis has high levels of amalase and lipase and is sometimes very critical as this one appears to be. Do a search on the web for acute Pancreatitis for more information than you can read. Then do one on Chronic Pancreatitis and see the differences. Hope things improve.
Avatar f tn OMG I can't believe I'm not the only one dealing with a puppy with pancreatitis...My puppy has been in and out of the vets office more times than I care to count since we got her in May. This little Chessie is just miserable. She will be great for a few days and then within a matter of a few hours she can be in pain and so sick. I am able to do IVs at home if I need to, but my question is what do you get them to eat? Pumpkin she loves...yogurt at times.
Avatar m tn I have only two symptoms of pancreatitis and do not have nausea, headaches, jaundice, fatty stool, vomiting, constipation, low B/P, rapid heart rate, fever, sweats or an inflamed pancreas 4. The pain location minus the banding effect to my back is located directly on top of the location I had a pyloric stenosis surgery (and two consecutive repairs) 5. The pain can start immediately when I eat and at night.
559187 tn?1330786456 Feels like the flu but I don't have a fever, chills or diarreah. Thankfully I still have some antinausea medicine that they gave me last year after my blood patch and it is helping a lot. Only problem is that it makes me sleepy. I hope tonight is a better night as I don't like taking off work especialy right now when everything is starting to gear up again after the holidays. I'll see what my doctor thinks may be going on in the morning. Hope it's no big deal.
Avatar f tn Have they ruled out partial bowel blockage, juvenile polyposis? Severe stomach pain is NOT a symptom of glandular fever! Symptoms are fever, sore throat, headache, nausea, blocked nose and swollen lymph nodes, not severe stomach pain. It also never requires hospitalization, and cures itself within 2 weeks. I am on these blogs because I lost a son and recently a gandson due to medical negligence, and I feel your son deserves better care and diagnosis than he has received from this hospital.
Avatar n tn Hey all, i'm 21 years old and about a month + ago I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. I had my first attack - a really high fever with stomach pain - that had me in the hospital for about 3 days. After being discharged and going back to food, I had the same fever (no stomach pain this time around) 2 days later and that ended up with me sitting in the hospital for a month without food or water.
Avatar f tn I got sick and it has been plaguing me ever since jan 3rd, 2008, have had a non-stop fever along with numerous symptoms. I am currently being monitored by an infectious disease specialist. Ask your doc if it might be a good plan to get a referral to see one.. i think if it was bad enough to get admitted in a hospital then it's worth looking into.. how long has this been going on? few weeks?
Avatar n tn Diagnosing pancreatitis is not straightforward since similar symptoms can be generated by other disease processes as well, and it is necessary to distinguish between these before appropriate treatment can begin. Ultrasound examination of the abdomen and identification of elevated levels of amylase and lipase (enzymes produced by the pancreas) in the mother's blood are usually sufficient to confirm the diagnosis of pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn I had blood work done a few months ago when I didn't have the pain and everything was normal. Someone said, it sounds like Pancreatitis. Now I can't get that out of my head. It keeps me awake at night. I was thinking it was IBS. Does anyone know if it could be Pancreatitis ? Its really got me worried. I use to drink a six pack every night years ago, but now only have a few beers maybe once a month. The next day I wake up running a low grade fever 99.4 and then it goes back to 98.6.

Avatar f tn Had the first episode after running a fever for tens days of 102. The next time happened without any fever. I have had a reoccurring low grade fever for years that run around 99 it happens about every other month or about every third month. The duration time for fever is different every time. When the fever comes on I feel fatigue, nausea, and weak. The blood tests show normal results in platelet count.
Avatar n tn I'm worried about Mike and with a Doctor telling him it's the flu, I want to make sure he knows that it could be other things. Symptoms like lower back pain, fever, fatique and diarrhea just scream gallbladder to me and I don't want him to wait too long before going in.
535089 tn?1400677119 Not only does the right quadrant hurt with a sharp pain but have a low grade fever of 2 weeks that is presistant. Just recently I have been unable to urinate and have had major fluid retention as a result. I was ultimately Catheterized twice in one day at the ER. The fluid retention has since subsided and I am urinating normally. Since an appendicitis had been ruled out, the Doctors thought an ultrasound of the tummy was necessary, That was uneventful.
Avatar f tn Day 5 abdominal pain began to subside, almost gone now (day 8). Fever is also gone. Day 5 when other symptoms subsiding, excruciating headaches began (8or9/10) unable to move or open eyes, nausea, unresponsive to panadol/neurofen. I get migraines about once/yr, they only last a couple of hrs. This pain lasted 2 days. At its worst, pain was worse than a migraine. Imigran brought pain down to 5, but would worsen again after a few hrs. Only a few hrs per day of complete relief.

Avatar f tn For about four years now I've been complaining to my family doctor about various symptoms. Fatigue, headaches, achy hands/knees/neck/back, low grade fever (comes and goes), nausea, abdominal pain, and a rash that comes and goes on my scalp (my hairdresser told me about it) that is not bothersome in ANY way. Any time I go out in the sun my face gets REALLY red, even if I'm out for only a few minutes...and only across my nose and cheeks.
Avatar m tn My wife was brought to the ER 4 weeks ago with stomach flu symptoms (diarrhea and vomiting). They tested her blood and found elevated lipase/amylase levels (600+ u/L). 3 CT scans, EUS, MRCP, MRI, ERCP have revealed nothing. Her enzyme levels have gradually come down, but never to what the doctors consider normal levels (they were bouncing around 140-170).
Avatar n tn Although many people with chronic pancreatitis have diabetes mellitus (sugar diabetes), one can have chronic pancreatitis without diabetes. The specific etiology of your friend's digestive problems can not be gleaned from the information that you provide. It is safe to conclude that the mitral valve prolapse and the fatty liver are NOT the cause of her problems. Because of the symptoms of bloating and pain (?
