Pancreatitis symptoms early

Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis symptoms early

pancreatitis

Avatar f tn I'm interested in this because while lipase and amylase are supposed to increase, I was reading some stuff and it seems that may be more from late stage chronic pancreatitis. What if you have early stage? Isn't that more difficult to determine?
Avatar m tn My cat was DX w pancreatitius & met all symptoms for a few weeks / the meds worked but it got bad. Then a big turn happened. He started eating & now won't stop! His constant meowing is driving me crazy.he lost weight whwhen really sick. He is still underweight but why does he demand food 24/7? I'm so stressed out I can't think straight. Upset too if his DX was wrong we spent so much $$ on labs/meds. Now I'm not sure/don't think he has it! Help.
Avatar m tn i am a 27 yr old female, with more pancreatitis attacks then i can count in the last year and a half. ive been accused of a frivilious life style which is so far from the truth. ive had every test known for this condition. in the last 2 months i was put on a protien suppliment to replace my emzymes that my pancreas produces. in the first 2 wks i lost 20 lbs, had no appetite, liquid bowel movements, dizziness, fatique, discoloring of the skin, and more symptoms i can even list.
Avatar n tn In July of 2011 I became very sick. "Out of it", lethargic, sterrorhea, and one particular episode where I had an electric shock feeling in my mid abdemon for several seconds. After this moment, I felt horrible with moderate left side discomfort and generally feeling like I had the flu. Having an MRI which didn't reveal anything significant, I later went for EUS. Doctor indicated CP and life began with Creon. I have taken max levels of Creon 24K x 8/meal and sterrorhea remains.
Avatar n tn (We manage it very well with diet and Vetsulin but it takes dedication, a rigid feeding schedule and 2 shots a day.) Keep an eye out for the symptoms once your pal is well. Early symptoms include increased drinking, iurinating more (accidents may be a sign), weight loss, increased appetite, dehydration and sudden cataract formation.
Avatar n tn Feel free to post again if you have any more questions. What are the symptoms of chronic pancreatitis? The symptoms are very variable. Pain occurs in most patients at some stage of the disease. This may vary in intensity from mild to severe. It may last for hours or sometimes days at a time and may require strong painkillers to control it. It often radiates through to the back and can sometimes be relieved by crouching forward.
Avatar f tn Since then I have had severe RUQ pain, resulting in an ERCP, and my doctor cut my sphincter during this procedure, I was then admitted to the hospital for pancreatitis after the surgery. I spent 4 days in the hospital and was discharged. I am starting to have pain again. Is this normal. Did it happen to anyone else?
902019 tn?1249865014 Usually have done well with prednisone for the various flare-ups but with AIP, still recurring symptoms and the elevated IgG4 periodically. Next step may be Imuran. Is there anyone out there who has had good results with Imuran for autoimmune pancreatitis?
Avatar n tn Other than that her symptoms go more with pancreatitis. Pain above her left ribcage that goes to her back - pain about her shoulder blades. When we saw the Dr.he had a complete blood work report in his hand and it showed raised amylase (131) and lipase levels (718) which I always thought showed pancreatitis. When I questioned him he said some people just have high levels and it is normal for them. I don't buy that.
Avatar n tn This sounds more like an acute Pancreatitis attack. Chronic Pancreatitis, to my knowledge, does not have the type symptoms you indicate. Acute pancreatitis has high levels of amalase and lipase and is sometimes very critical as this one appears to be. Do a search on the web for acute Pancreatitis for more information than you can read. Then do one on Chronic Pancreatitis and see the differences. Hope things improve.
Avatar f tn SYMPTOMS: early satiety, nausea, trapped gas, and bloating, constipation and diarrhea. A battery of tests were done, including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy (hiatal hernia) esophageal motility (muscle doesn't work well), stomach emptying. All normal. I've been hospitalized with pancreatitis twice in the last 2 years. I have type2 diabetes, I'm overweight. I am a 60 year old African American female. DIAGNOSIS: My gastroenterologist came up with nothing Murilax and Amitiza.

Avatar m tn My aunt had a mini-schnauzer who had an acute attack early in life. She had chronic pancreatitis for the rest of her life with a handful of acute attacks thrown in. BUT, she lived to be 18. I'm praying for that kind of outcome for your little girl. Do keep us posted on her progress.
Avatar n tn aI'm posting this under general gastroenterology instead of Pancreatitis because I don't want something to get missed because of a myopic approach. In 1994, when I was 34 yrs old, I was diagnosed at Duke University Med. with pancreatitis. Pancreatitic and liver enzymes were all above 3000's. Since then I have fought chronic pancreatitis on an almost daily basis. It was considered unknown causes. I don't smoke or drink alcohol or take illicit drugs.
Avatar f tn My Sheltie, Sadie was DX'd with early stage CKF in Sept. She is a rescue dog, so I am unsure of her age. Likely, she is between 11 and 12. at this time, we had a mass that developed very quickly, removed from her toe, which ended up being a toe amputation due to getting margins to close it. It was then that we found the kidney function was abnormal in her pre-op bloodwork. Her bloodwork had been checked 10 months before in a senior screen, where it was in the upper level of normal.
Avatar n tn It can manifest itself early with those tingling, vibration type symptoms. Also side effects of some medications can do that as well. If you take anything, for anxiety stuff, check that out. Don't stress over it and don't read too much into the internet, it can drive you nuts!!
Avatar f tn Many of the early symptoms of methanol poisoning are non-specific eg. headache, dizziness, malaise, generalized weakness, altered sensorium, acute mania, and paresthesias.
Avatar m tn Extensive or invasive evaluation is usually not recommended in those with a single episode of pancreatitis who are younger than 40 but some reports recommend endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) even after one attack if the cause is not clear to look for pancreatic ductal abnormalities, small tumors at or near the ampulla, microlithiasis in the gallbladder or bile duct, and early chronic pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn Im posting on here today because of these on going symptoms that have persisted for about 3 weeks now.. My story is I had unprotected vaginal sex with someone who I think is very sexually active. It was rough sex and a little blood was involved.. My concerns: About 3 weeks post encounter I started to get abdominal pains not in any specific area, but if I had to pinpoint it, I would say upper right, but also upper left and lower abdominal..
Avatar f tn For about four years now I've been complaining to my family doctor about various symptoms. Fatigue, headaches, achy hands/knees/neck/back, low grade fever (comes and goes), nausea, abdominal pain, and a rash that comes and goes on my scalp (my hairdresser told me about it) that is not bothersome in ANY way. Any time I go out in the sun my face gets REALLY red, even if I'm out for only a few minutes...and only across my nose and cheeks.
Avatar n tn I am listing all of these symptoms as I wanted you to know the full picture and I do not know if they are connected somehow or not. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn My doctor put me on Xanax, and it seems to have lessened my worrying and maybe the intensity of the symptoms, but the symptoms still seem to be there. Basically, I'm wondering if the tests that I had done a month ago and my background should be satisfying me that the problem isn't with my heart?
Avatar f tn chronic abdominal pain, Chronic nausea that would occur from eating (now it doesn't even matter what kind of food, it just happens, also vomited only once because it does not help), sharp chest pains (which began happening all of the sudden), low grade fevers, nausea that gets worse late at night to early morning, dry heaving, cramping, and lost about 15 pounds, fatigue, absolutely no energy anymore (i'm about 23 years old).
Avatar n tn I'm having withdrawal symptoms I didn't expect. Light headedness, the runs, blood pressure going up, and general fatigue. Lots of fatigue. And some irritability. I am hoping that these symptoms begin to decrease soon. Well, they have gotten better than it was in the first 2 days. I am still wondering how long I can expect to have these side effects of withdrawal?
439682 tn?1207686578 Has anyone that has PCOS and/or is Insulin Resistant have the following symptoms?? Once in a while I get a really bad stomach ache, it's a burning sensation in the pit of my stomach and I get very bloated and also get back pains. One time I had it so bad that I also had vomitting. It can last anywhere from 1 day to 3 days. I've been getting this lately and I have had all sorts of tests done and everything comes back negative. Blood tests, Ultrasounds, CT Scans, MRI, you name it!
Avatar n tn Every time I try to get off the zyprexa I get the same wierd physical symptoms, in addition to regular anxiety symptoms that I can recognize. This time I took 3/4 of the 2.5mg for 1 week, and went down to 1/2 for a week, and then dropped it.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing a number of symptoms: I'll try my best to explain everything. I have mucous in my stools every time I have a bowel movement. Sometimes, I am very constipated and may not have a bowel movement for 4 days. Then, sometimes, I have very severe cramping (like I'm going to have diarrhea) but I don't have any diarrhea with this. A lot of times, I have sharp pains right below my rib cage in the middle. I have spit up bright red blood before, but not in awhile.
Avatar n tn My liver panel was also normal. Please, please...if anyone is experiencing the same symptoms or has in the past, I would be ever so grateful for some insight into what is wrong with me!! Thanks!
Avatar m tn I'm a 27 year old male, and have been having an increasing number of symptoms over the last 3 months. I don't know what I should do next or even if my symptoms are all caused by the same thing. Initially I had what felt like bad indigestion after eating lunch, with pain at the top of my stomach and in the left side of my chest (particularly in a small spot just inside and above my left nipple). I could feel my pulse on the left side of my chest just in the area that was hurting.
