ve avoided all carbs and sugar on the advice of dr google, I started to suspect it could be Pancreatitis as a side effect of the hand foot mouth virus. This diet seems to help, I barely feel the pain now, it comes and goes. I have also been peeing a lot, but I've been drinking a lot of water. Not necessarily because I'm super thirsty, but when I'm not feeling well, I try to drink a lot of water.

Last year was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Am again suffering from similiar symptoms. Hospital told me not to eat till I saw family doctor. He told me not to eat for 3 days, drink water only. Symptoms got better starting eating carbs after that. 8months later and similiar symptoms, fatigue, bloating. Shall I assume the liquid diet for a few days? Not sure what the doctor or hospital will do other than tell me that and don't want to waste 12 hours in the ER again, let alone the cost.

My mother has been suffering from Pancreatitis for the past 4months. She has been in hospital three times with severe pain, vomitting, and fluid in the abdominal. In that time she has lots over 25kg. I dont know if it was the chicken breast or maybe the overactivity but ended up in the hospital a couple of weeks ago with elevated amylase and lipase. The removal of the gallbladder really set things off for me.

Hello Everyone, My Wiz had a dental/extraction and ultrasound today. The us showed significant kidney changes… as well as an enlarged or hardened pancreatic node I think. We are putting him on a bp med and maybe some chinese herbs eventually. One of his kidney values was very mildly elevated so I wanted to do the ultrasound and he has had vomiting on and off… it seemed to be hairball related, I treated that and it seems to help and sometimes food related.

In general, most docs tell patients who have acute pancreatitis to follow a liquid diet for a period of time then slowly transition to a soft diet that is very low in fat. That can be followed up by changing back to a 'regular' low fat diet. The digestive enzymes - Creon - will be used to help to digest the food you take in.

Thanks for the reply, my dr has not ordered the pancreatic enzyme labs yet, she feels it is GERD related. I suppose without any other symptoms of pancreatitis it would be low. I am a very anxious person so it's most likely a mixture of the two (GERD and Anxiety). I have no fever, no vomitting, no jaundice, I am at a loss.

Can the medicine Zanaflex cause Pancreatitis? I have looked up information on this med and it states that 1 out of 20 patients could develop liver damage. I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis on 10/14/08. I had never had it in my life. I am afraid this medicine has caused it. I have never ever picked up any type of drink other than diet pepsi and jucie. stomach problems (stomach burning), mild diarrhoea (which i've had for some years already on and off. Its specifically notable that i still have it now because I take lots of fibre on my diet). Fibre seems to be helping but stool is still 'softish' a few days per week, stool colour normal, brownish. Bowel movement once a day or once every 2 days.

Hi, I saw a post of a case similar to mine where the liver was affected as well as the pancreas with wieght gain instead of loss on a low fat diet. Im wondering what causes that especially in pancreatitis? I loss alot of weight a year ago, was real sick with abnormal bruising and weakness, falling down, ect, this was before pancreas started acting up again, prior to that I had only one acute episode of pancreatitis.

I have him on home made very low fat diet, and tummy symptoms are relieved by pepcid. He has also taken carafate, not sure if that has done anything. But pepcid always helps.

i am so glad I finally found someone with the same problem as I have, chronic pancreatitis. I have been going on a trial and error diet and don't want to get the pain and misery again! I did broil some chicken breast and had no problems. Also can eat about 2 ounces of tuna packed in water. As the pancreatitis has caused me to be diabetic that also causes problems. I am eating several small meals each day. Wouold be glad of any suggestions that have worked for some body else.

So, I had the classic sx of nausea vomiting post meals RUQ pain, shoulder pain/scapula pain that started March of 09, after a numerous amount of test and 1-2 episode of pancreatitis I was suggested to have my Gallbladder remove. Which was done Sep 09. I continued with my symptoms despite the cholectomy. I was sent to a specialist that performed a an ERCP and manometry and stated that my pressures were high. My muscle was extremly tight so he cut it and placed a temporary stent in my pancrease.
