Avatar n tn All medications have potential side effects. Diflucan is a very good and safe medication even when used at doses MUCH higher than what you are taking, but that is not to say you could not be having an adverse reaction from the medication. Diflucan can cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and elevation of liver blood tests. That is not to say that is what is causing your pain. I am doubtful that you could have such symptoms from a single dose. Ultra sound in January was normal . . .
Avatar f tn I am pleased your daughter is in remission without drugs, as the drugs themselves can cause serious side effects, but for those of us with intractable Crohn's, severe rectal haemorrhages requiring blood transfusions, IV steroids etc. an immuno-suppressant seems to be the only way to keep the disease in remission. Hope your daughter continues to do well and thrive.
Avatar n tn Lyrica does not commonly cause the mentioned side effects, though very rarely issues like pancreatitis, rhabdomyolysis may be associated. 902019 tn?1249865014 Some people do excellently on Imuran side effectswise, many do not, a whole litany of miserable side effects - including pancreatic tumors. There is very little data or studies re Imuran's effectiveness with AIP but it does have good results on autoimmune hepatitis. I'm so fed up with prednisone - messed up sleep, moon face, wild monster in stomach yelling for FOOD 24/7 and the fact that it has NOT as yet eradicated the AIP.
Avatar m tn He's also extremely hungry and thirsty. I've read that all of these are possible phenobarbital side effects. How long do these usually last before the dog gets used to the medication? I'm hoping that these are not signs that something else is wrong, though I am aware of the possibilities.
Avatar n tn She was like a guinea pig and now, 8 years after, she is living with side effects that have never gone : hypotension (around 8), fainding every day, unbearable headaches, kidney pyelonephritis every months, and an exhausting fatigue that keep her in her bed sometimes several days, where she can hardly eat alone. Before that, she was so full of life, making car races, flying planes, being a model for photographes, and photographer herself.
Avatar f tn But it's possible some dogs might have side effects. I don't know.... It's no good the vet being 'obtuse' about the diet food if the dog simply won't eat it! They are going to have to come up with suggestions. However, he may begin to eat it if something could kick-start his appetite a little more. Has the vet tried appetite stimulants? Or anti-nausea medication? Anti-nausea meds can be given as an injection. In fact, I don't see why his antibiotic can't be given that way, just for a few days.
Avatar n tn On the other hand, malignant strictures don't get better, they get steadily worse. Cancer is highly unlikely here. The after-effects of pancreatitis can linger for a long time. His course is more prolonged than average, but not startlingly so. It's likely that his stricture will improve further. Given the severity and length of his illness, one would consider removing the gallbladder even if stones aren't proven, if no other source becomes known.

Avatar n tn Dear Willy: While pancreatitis is not a common or listed side effect of chemotherapy, it is known that some medications do contribute to its development. I would not be too quick to diagnose yourself, however. There are specific blood tests that can be done to assist in making this diagnosis. I would leave this to the specialist.
Avatar f tn Hey April! These are likely to be the post-effects of pancreatitis related to exocrine function of the pancreas and associated malsorption. Typically a low fat and low carbohydrate diet is advised following an episode of pancreatitis along with medications that would help in digestion and symptomatic pain relief. Avatar f tn My endocrinologist thinks my pain will get better as the medication for insulin resistance starts working. Digestive enzymes don't have side effects and if you have a lot of gas or stomach discomfort then you need to take them. Give it a try, it's worth a shot, instead of taking medication that could hurt your body down the road.

Avatar n tn Hello. I am a 35 yr old female. I had my gallbladder removed at age 26, and that's when all the problems started. I went from a size 1 to a size 9 over the next year and I am currently a size 14. I had been very skinny my whole life and could eat anything I wanted with no worries.
Avatar f tn I'm told that they won't do any harm so really - unless you have side effects - there's not a downside to trying them. Your Doc might even have samples. This is something you can do now and with an enlarged pancreas, it might be a great idea. It helps to keep a journal or a blog and your welcome to read mine if you want but I write a lot (can you tell).
Avatar f tn I've seen a couple references to post-treatment side effects. Thereis nothing in the reference material that was given to my husband about post tx issues so the logical assumption is that once you stop the pills and shots the **** stuff is over. What are some of the lingering issues that have cropped up and how long are they around? Are there physical issues that are determined to be the direct result of the treatment?
Avatar f tn These symptoms could be SO many things including microscopic sludge/stones in the common bile duct, gallbladder problems, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction, Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth, acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, autoimmune pancreatitis, mininal change chronic pancreatitis, etc., etc., etc. Pancreatic and ductal pain is among the most horrendous pain there is. If you cannot manage your pain, talk to your primary care physician and ask for some medication!
1132657 tn?1260557669 I think possibly the medication you are on could be casuing a lot of side effects, I am not a doctor however I am very sensitive to medication and get all kinds of side effects not the least of which can be swelling. In addition it takes the body at least 1 year to recover from having anethestia in the body and to recover from surgery. I am a huge advocate of looking at the whole picture. Having had fibromyaglia since 1992 I've had to.

All of them have really bad side effects, which I know alot of medications do, but one of these can cause lymphoma(sp) cancer, pancreatitis(sp) and all sorts of things. 483733 tn?1326802046 Hi, There are two phases in the treatment of ulcerative colitis - the induction therapy and the maintenance therapy. During induction therapy, the disease is brought under control. Depending on the severity , 5ASA, imuran or steroids are used for induction. Once the disease is brought under control, it has to be maintained like that by giving medications. This is called the maintenance therapy. Maintenance therapy medications include 5ASA and imuran.

Side effects can include: headache, withdrawal symptoms, body pain, nausea, insomnia, sweating, constipation, and stomach pain. Let your doctor know if you experience these before or during your treatment with Suboxone. He or she may be able to treat some of these symptoms. There are limited studies to support the use of Suboxone in pregnant women.
