1. Steroids, mumps, Epstein Barr Virus and Cytomegalovirus, Lupus and other immune diseases, very high calcium, lipids and triglycerides, drugs: sulfa drugs, steroids, NSAID use, diuretics, duodenal ulcer, diabetic drugs especially Byetta. The drugs could be a problem for both the pancrease and liver too. If you have been taking Byetta for diabetis it is very important to get treatment for that right away. I would say there is cause for concern but you are getting it checked out.

I have been to a Rheumatologist (wasnt that impressed with him) he checked ccp Igg, is this the samething?I dont think he was looking for Autoimmune pancreatitis , I think he was looking for lupus or or something. What was your treatment?. Was your ANA elevated to? Mine has been normal some also.

When I was diagnosed with the Sarc I was prescribed Azathioprine which I found out over the three years I took it has damaged my pancreas and I am left with debilitating chronic pancreatitis. My liver enzymes over the years have been elevated off and on but no jaundice just fatty liver. Because my ANA is so high and I tested positive for the RA they went ahead and tested me for lupus.

Hello everyone. Well I was just diagnosed with SS piggy back to Lupus. I was just wondering how long it will take for my lip to heal. I had the biopsy on Thursday and it is still very sore and numb. I feel like I have been to the dentist. I really hope it is gone before Christmas and I can't start the predisone until my biopsy site is healed. Any info would be great....

What are they actually treating and what symptoms do you have other than high liver enzymes. Do you have Lupus or Autoimmune Pancreatitis/Hepatitis where the immune system is going haywire?

I have had both gallbladder and appendix removed about 20 years ago. About six months ago I started experiencing pain in my right upper quadrant, just below the ribs. The first time I experienced it, I was turning over in bed and something caught inside me like the muscle in my abdomen was ripping loose. When I released the strain of turning over the pain went away.

ve been diagnosed with Discoid Lupus. My hair is falling out. The rheumatologist said that interferon treatment is known to trigger lupus, but the Hep C itself could also. I just know that during and after the interferon, I started having psoriasis, boils on my face, other skin problems, along with arthritis (at 47 years), and now Lupus? I am really really regretting taking the doctors advice and doing the interferon. I should have waited for the better methods of treatment.

my IgA level came back at 25 (limit is from 0-20). Could this indicate lupus or is my level too low? Also, can anyone think of any other autoimmune disorder that would cause this slight elevation? If anyone can please help me understand this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

He is now in a Lupus Research Study from Lupus Foundation in OK. I read somewhere that the DoD is having research done. I hope this group my hubby is in is part of this DoD one. My suggestion, is look for a research group from whatever your illness is.

Hello. I am new to this forum and looking for some answers. During a CT scan last summer my DR found that I have several masses in both kidneys. After a biopsy I was diagnosed with interstitial nephritis. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this? Does it ever go away? I have large amounts of blood and protein in my urine and my kidney functions are decreased and have been for about 4 years already. I am scheduled with a kidney dr in a few weeks.

This test is a flourescent procedure that assists in differentiating among various connective tissue diseases. Antinuclear antibody testing is not diagnostic of all of the variety of diseases.

Started as abdominal pain, got worse over 5 days. Pain severe (7-8/10) when breathing deeply, pressing centre upper abdomen or lying on side. Pain sharp/stabbing in the centre &radiates to right&back. Pain a constant 2-3/10 when lying/standing in comfortable position and breathing into upper chest. Also fever occurred daily (~5h/day) reaching 38.5 accompanied by chills &muscle weakness, usually occurring in afternoon followed by drenching night sweats.

In 2002, Dr. Bailey at Duke Univ. made three attempts in a period of nine months to access the bile duct and measure the pressure inside my liver. He was unable to do the manometry and I developed a severe case of pancreatitis.

To post an update, I was just diagnosed with non-systemic lupus. The ICD9 code given is 695.4 which is discoid lupus. Looking at pictures from http://dermnetnz.org/immune/cutaneous-lupus.html it appears that lupus profundus is more accurate. I have started another thread in regards to the question of the type, but I wanted to conclude this thread with the diagnosis.

Hi all ! Can someone please tell me about pancreatitis and the mortality rate when your cat gets it ? My Kaci cat whom I just love so much is old (about 161/2 ) and I have been taking her to the Vet to get hydrated about every 4 days . She is not really eating well and I am really worried . The endoscopy found mild gastritis. All other test are normal.The pancreatic specialist did not mention pancreatitis at the time and only prescribed nexium and sulcrafate for the gastritis. I am 67, and never had a previous bout with pancreatitis. Moderate beer drinker. How should I be treated?

I had to put my 11 year old Llhasa apso to sleep yesterday because he was diagnosed with pancreatitis and was in so much pain that they could not guarantee that he would survive even with treatment. Hi .. I have the same thing ... started a year or so ago with mild spasms in left back and front area .. now its pretty much constant and it's in my left hip and left shoulder. Sometimes my ribs and side is tender to touch and I get gas and discomfort as well as low back ache. I had one bad lot of pain one night that I thought might be pancreatitis but nothing since and I carried on drinking heavily (I had a drink problem but have stopped now) for several months after and no more attacks.

My mother has been suffering from Pancreatitis for the past 4months. She has been in hospital three times with severe pain, vomitting, and fluid in the abdominal. In that time she has lots over 25kg. She is 60 years old but since loosing so much weight she looks like 80 years old. She no longer drinks but continues to smoke. What worries me the most is that she eats very tiny amount of food, she vomitts everyday and she is just not getting any better.

I was diagnosed yesterday in the ER. They found through an abdominal ultra sound the tail is enlarged. I have a family history of pancreatic cancer. They request I do further testing. Is pancreatitis something you can get rid of or is it something that kind of hangs around and "flares up"?

Ask your doctor to do a blood test for amylase & lipase levels.

Anyone else out there suffering from Chronic (and acute) pancreatitis and/or sphincter of Oddi dysfunction? Would love to chat about how to manage these disorders.
