Avatar n tn I am having post gallbladder removal problems, and I am concerned that my pain is due to pancreatitis? Had my surgery in June with a lot of problems afterwards. At one point I was diagnosed with a bile leak, and given antibiotics. After that I felt pretty good for several months, but now the pain has started again. I have a lot of pressure under my ribs, both sides. Stomach area is burning. The pain and the burning goes through my back as well.
Avatar n tn I had to put my 11 year old Llhasa apso to sleep yesterday because he was diagnosed with pancreatitis and was in so much pain that they could not guarantee that he would survive even with treatment. It came on suddenly...he was fine Saturday but began throwing up in the middle of the night and continued...he couldn't even hold down water and was very weak. I took him into the veterinary hospital on Sunday and he was too weak to come home.
Avatar n tn and she believes it is very different from pancreatitis or colitis pain. Could this be a kidney problem that is being overlooked? Much, much, appreciation for any feedback.
Avatar f tn My appendix ruptured 2 yrs ago and I have had numerous problems since. I have abdominal distention, squeezing pain that starts in abdomen and moves up my body to my neck, drilling feeling behind lower left ribs, extreme fatigue, pain in abdomen, pain in joints, swelling, etc.. I have "a bunch" of Esophogeal Ulcurs and an inflamed stomach, this issue was addressed. I have been to several Dr.'s that don't seem to CARE about ME as a whole.
Avatar n tn I have had terrible pain in my front right & left ribs & in my sides that wraps about midways in my back somethime under both shoulderblades on both sides for the last 2 years after eating with weight loss that has leveled off some. I have had one mild elevation of Amylase around 135 at the beggining of 2006. I had high triglycerides which are now normal.I have had continual elevations of Lipase around 320 throughout the last 2 years.
Avatar f tn I truly feel like the change in diet triggered her pancreatitis which caused her kidney values to shoot through the roof (when we put her in the hospital, they were literally off the chart). We get to pick her up today. I definitely don't want to feed her anymore of the NF food. I checked out some of your recipes which I am more than willing to try, but I want to make sure it doesn't affect her pancreatitis. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I recently had a bout of acute pancreatitis that resolved in about 2-3 days. I had been eating a pretty high fat diet for a few days and was taking tylenol 3 for a dental procedure. AP was verified via CT w/contrast but my panc enzymes remained normal throughout the attack. I am concerened that the attack may be a sign of a cronic conditon due to my previous history of alchohol. The CT scan did not show anything other than the hazy pancreas, impression pancreatitis.
Avatar n tn I am overweight, have hypothyroidism, and PCOS. I originally posted this in the kidney forum, as my family doctor felt I may have a kidney stone. However, I visited a urologist today who does not feel that I have a kidney stone and prescribed antibiotics for a possible urinary tract infection. However, I am still experiencing intermittent left side pain and have had three bowel movements today that were narrow and gray (almost colorless).
10821430 tn?1439584483 I should also add his Creatinine was 0.8 and Phosphorus level was 3.9...I was worried about kidney problems but the vet said the BUN could be higher due to intestine inflamation and a Yorkie can run a little higher "as normal" they have found over years...he had no conserns about kidney functions.
902019 tn?1249865014 I was diagnosed 2 years ago with AIP, have a 25 year history of autoimmune disorders (eosinophilic vasculitis, mild Sjogren's). Usually have done well with prednisone for the various flare-ups but with AIP, still recurring symptoms and the elevated IgG4 periodically. Next step may be Imuran. Is there anyone out there who has had good results with Imuran for autoimmune pancreatitis?
Avatar m tn I am a 32 yo male who took an ultrasound test after having GERD like symptoms and the Md said that i have a kidney mass 2.3cm on my left kidney. I had problems with urination frequency but no blood and inflammation on pelvis and side/front of abdomen. I am scheduled for CAT in a week and I am just really concerned and stressed because I am worried about the chances of being a kidney cancer. What is the likelihood this can lead to cancer?
2215501 tn?1339495927 5 years old Jack(Tri-Colour) and Sam(Sable) Both boys have recently been diagnosed with early stages of Kidney Failure. Jack's blood results are higher than Sam's I have been looking on the internet for some info on this disease to see how it progresses. I seem to be going round in circles getting no where. I am looking for some info from fellow dog owners. Jack has vets on wednesday for more blood tests....
658828 tn?1225050195 She tested my urine for a kidney infection b/c of the back pain but there was nothing indicative of an infection. I do not have any symptoms of kidney or liver problems (believe I have read about them!) No jaundice, edema, loss of appetite. I have gained weight not lost it! If I feel down below my rib cage on my back, it is tender to the touch. My kidney area and upper back hurts badly and it feels kind of like a burning sensation, even my shoulder blades hurt.
Avatar f tn You are having pancreatitis attacks. With chronic pancreatitis, amylase and lipase levels may not elevate. It is common for them to only elevate in an acute attack. Often, enzyme levels will rise in the first few hours and then come back down. Since doctors think that elevated amylase and lipase levels are the only indicators of pancreatitis, they will not diagnose you if the enzymes are not elevated. The best thing advice that I can give you is watch your fat content and pray.
Avatar n tn Would you at least tell me what you think it would be. I also don't have my Gallbladder any longer. I also have my left kidney to small and also a Hypo-Thyroid problem.
793908 tn?1294708709 Hi...Next week. I am starting my beloved 9 yr. old mini Poodle Julie on Trilostane for confirmed Cushings Disease. She is 14 lbs.now & never stops drinking water & has to go outside way too much. Her appetite is immense. All of this is so abnormal with her, along with her "pot belly" & she is very non energetic. She was just diagnosed & I am very stressed about treatments. I know that I will never use Lisodren on her. Trilostane will be my choice.
Avatar f tn He is right my common-law just died and had some kidney problems for eating to much sugar. It goes like that when you are diabetic sugar is addicting take some Free Form L-Glutamine it will stop your sugar cravings. When you are told by doctor to stop eating it you want it even more.Google: What L-Glutamines does for craving sugar. Google also how much to take I take 3 500 Mg a day on empty stomach. It is good to take Vitamin B-12 also I take the Sublingual B-12 10,000 Mcg daily with it.
Avatar f tn High concentrations of GGT are found in the liver, bile ducts, and the kidney. Hence kidney and urinary problems could be causing the high GGT level. Greater-than-normal levels of GGT may indicate: congestive heart failure, cholestasis (congestion of the bile ducts), cirrhosis, hepatitis, liver ischemia (blood flow deficiency), liver necrosis, liver tumor, high alcohol intake, use of hepatotoxic drugs (drugs toxic to liver).
Avatar m tn it is a fact that the present tools DVM use to detect Kidney function problems are antiquated whereby detection is MUCH TOO LATE. Hoping against hope, this SDMA test in near future will help, hopefully, BUT, I question whether or not a 'High Triglyceride reading is ALSO a 'Prenotice' of bad kidneys? Tony, have you ever had anyone write in on this forum and state that their dogs ALSO had a triglyceride problem, or have you personally seen such??
6839387 tn?1385681693 I told them he was healthy. I did not know he had kidney problems. And the first time they mentioned elective bloodwork, I said there was no need because he was not sick. I did tell them the morning of the surgery to go ahead and do bloodwork if they saw any reason to. Thank God I did that! But I don't think they did the tests until later.
82861 tn?1333457511 Bacterial infections like leptospirosis can destroy kidney tissue along with toxins, tumors or even congenital problems. The Chinese haven't helped either since they've been poisoning our pets with melamine for some time before it was detected. The melamine caused kidney failure in many cats and dogs that ate it, and it even turned up in my cockatiel's food. I didn't learn about the recall until it was too late. He's still alive, but not doing well at all.
Avatar f tn I did look up the medications and don't see any red flags other then Pepcid should be used with caution in dogs with kidney and liver problems. I doubt your Vet would prescribe this if he felt it was not appropriate. Myself and many people I know, my kids included, have often used this with no adverse effects. My daughter's little dog, younger than yours, has chronic pancreatitis problems and has been at the Vet's at least 3 times with flare ups and whopping Vet bills.
Avatar n tn 4 months ago I had my gallbladder removed after being hospitalized for 3 days with a severe attack which turned into pancreatitis. I also have kidney disease which was diagnosed 15 years ago. Since my surgery I have suffered from severe heartburn, nausea and diarrhea. Often waking up in the middle of the night to vomit. My stools are either black or often green usually no more that liquid. Is there anything I can do to eliminate the need to stay close to home after eating a meal?
15945427 tn?1444239993 Thank you I will talk to the vet today, It is labeled Lactated Ringers but the ingredients are Sodium Chloride, Sodium Lactate....
Avatar m tn I'm a 27yr old Male, So in late 2015 I lost my left kidney (Trauma Nephrectomy) due to a bmx accident, I was a pretty big drinker up until the accident and now I drink anywhere between 15-30 standards through out the week, mainly on weekends, I was wondering if this will ever effect me and around what age area and what is likely to happen if something does, my liver is known to be 100%
Avatar n tn 8 percent at 10 years and 4 percent at 20 years, independent of the type of pancreatitis in one study. I have not touched upon autoimmune pancreatitis and the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pancreatitis. I hope that you can understand that I am limited in the amount of time I spend on each question in this forum. Please feel free to ask these points again at the next opportunity, or you can utilize my fee-based medical information service.
Avatar f tn This is one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with. My beloved Gypsy is dying of kidney failure. Gypsy is a Jack Russell Terrier and she turned 18...yes 18...on Christmas Day. It's just so hard to know when it is "time." I prayed and prayed that she would give us one final parting gift and die on her own in her sleep...but she is SUCH a fighter and refused to surrender to this thing.
1832268 tn?1326819610 We brought him home and did twice daily under skin fluids plus standard recommended meds and kidney diet. We then took him to a kidney specialist who was trying to determine at what stage of Kidney disease he was at. Got his levels down a little more a week little later, things were looking promising and his energy levels were increasing dramatically. Less than a week later, he completely stopped eating. Took him to specialist after 2 days of not eating.
1916673 tn?1420236870 One word of caution ... if you have a dog that has pancreatitis, don't use these recipes, as they are high fat/meat content. Always check with your vet beforehand. I hope some of you find these ideas useful in the battle to get your dog to eat. If your dog is eating a manufactured renal diet without problems, I would stick with it, and then use home cooking if and when he/she starts refusing their regular food.
Avatar f tn First they thought female problems, then kidney stone, then pancreatitis. It turned out to be my gallbladder. I had it out Monday and feel so much better. The surgeon said the thing has been inflamed for years looking at all the scarring.
