Avatar f tn Wally is a rescued greyhound, he's been sick since the day we brought him home however we certainly didn't expect him to be diagnosed with kidney damage in October , and now pancreatitis, unfortunately we don't know a lot of his history other than he ran in 34 races

Avatar f tn I truly feel like the change in diet triggered her pancreatitis which caused her kidney values to shoot through the roof (when we put her in the hospital, they were literally off the chart). We get to pick her up today. I definitely don't want to feed her anymore of the NF food. I checked out some of your recipes which I am more than willing to try, but I want to make sure it doesn't affect her pancreatitis. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn s likely the kidney disease occurred first and the pancreatitis is the result of the kidney failure. However, the pancreatitis may be a chronic condition that has been happening for a long time, in which case it could have affected the kidneys. Has your vet given any indication of which may be the case? The reason for asking is it could be important, because acute pancreatitis can be treated (although any organ damage cannot be undone).
Avatar f tn My dog is 17 1/2 (old I know), and last year he had a bad pancreatitis attack that led to kidney failure. After being put on IV fluids for 3 days, he got much better and the kidney failure actually went away. However the same thing happened yet again a week ago.
Avatar f tn I am struggling with several issues associated with management of kidney disease in my 18 year old terrier mix rescue dog, who was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease 5 weeks ago, on the heels of an episode of acute pancreatitis. He had been on metacam for osteoarthritis (elbow, spine, hips) for about 2 years, so we have been monitoring his blood work at least every 6 months. His creatinine had been creeping up slowly, but entered the abnormal zone at 1.
Avatar f tn My 8 year old dog has late stage chronic kidney failure. She was diagnosed just over three weeks ago. We were shocked to hear this news because she just started showing signs of nausea about a week earlier (no other signs before). BUN 83, Creatinine 6.0, and Phosphorus 8.5 (her levels lowered after 48 hours of IV). She is anemic and has pancreatitis and a UTI as well. She has been struggling with loss of appetite (weight loss) and vomiting.

Avatar f tn With repeated bouts of acute pancreatitis, damage to the pancreas can occur and lead to chronic pancreatitis. Scar tissue may form in the pancreas, causing loss of function. A poorly functioning pancreas can cause digestion problems and diabetes.
Avatar n tn I have looked up information on this med and it states that 1 out of 20 patients could develop liver damage. I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis on 10/14/08. I had never had it in my life. I am afraid this medicine has caused it. I have never ever picked up any type of drink other than diet pepsi and jucie. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am so scared and hurting.
Avatar f tn You more than likely have chronic pancreatitis. Every attack causes damage to your pancreas. Even though you quit drinking the damage has been done. You need to read up on chronic pancreatitis and get more of an understanding.
422425 tn?1307992990 This disease is also caused by other diseases and toxins that damage the kidney. The most serious long term effect is decreased kidney function or kidney failure. The function of the kidneys will return after the harmful drug is not taken anymore, or when the underlying disease is cured by treatment. 793908 tn?1294705109 Hi...Next week. I am starting my beloved 9 yr. old mini Poodle Julie on Trilostane for confirmed Cushings Disease. She is 14 lbs.now & never stops drinking water & has to go outside way too much. Her appetite is immense. All of this is so abnormal with her, along with her "pot belly" & she is very non energetic. She was just diagnosed & I am very stressed about treatments. I know that I will never use Lisodren on her. Trilostane will be my choice.
658828 tn?1225046595 ) I also thought I had pancreatitis...SOD...kidney issues (did I IVP xray..) ...remember if it's celiac or wheat..or some take a good month or so to see improvement so find a safe gluten free vitamin to try or test for celiac in the meantime...
Avatar n tn Within the last two years she has been diagnosed with kidney stones, anemia, pancreatitis, hypokalemia, mixed connective tissue disease, asthma, raynauds disease, mono, bronchitis, pleurisy, pericarditis, chostochondritis, uti's, kidney infections...She has had a fever for weeks...The drs say her potassium is dangerously low and they've given her multiple IV's with potassium, but it hasn't helped make any improvements.
Avatar m tn Recently, had HIDA test and the ejection rate was just below 20% (but no pain). I also had an endoscopy, but nothing looked abnormal (aside from a little tissue damage from the constant vomiting). At work today, I got extremely dizzy, nauseous, started smelling things that weren't there (like a skunk and graham crackers), and vomited multiple times. I started feeling better after about 10-20 minutes but am still really dizzy and nauseous about 12 hours later.
Avatar n tnPancreatitis - also known as inflammation of the pancreas, can cause amylase and lipase levels to be increased up to 3 times normal. Both values should be increased, in order to carry the diagnosis of pancreatitis. •Lipase may be increased in tumors of the pancreas, or stomach certain stomach conditions. These conditions are usually painful. •Gall bladder infection - Inflammation of the gall bladder (cholecystitis), may cause increased lipase levels (hyperlipasemia).
Avatar m tn I'm a 27yr old Male, So in late 2015 I lost my left kidney (Trauma Nephrectomy) due to a bmx accident, I was a pretty big drinker up until the accident and now I drink anywhere between 15-30 standards through out the week, mainly on weekends, I was wondering if this will ever effect me and around what age area and what is likely to happen if something does, my liver is known to be 100%
Avatar f tn I am guilt ridden with not taking her in sooner. I did not know anything about pancreatitis or kidney failure until this happened.I don;t know if this was acute renal injury or acute on developing chronic and a bout of possible pancreatitis triggered her downhill battle? I had been feeding her high quality food from Chuck and Don's called FROMM, and it's made in Wisconsin. I doubt that food had any problems associated.
