Avatar n tn Hi, Hyperlipidemia is increased fats or lipids in the bloodstream. Fatty molecules are transported in a protein capsule, and the density of the lipids and type of protein determines the fate of the particle and its influence on metabolism. This condition may be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease or acute pancreatitis. You can read ore about this through this link: Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn // As I wrote, I have a lack of lactobacillus in the intestines. In this Monday, I noticed that allergic reactions from others were much less than usual. But the next day for some reason reactions from others has increased significantly. At first I could not understand why. But then I realized why, on Sunday, I did not eat cheese and dairy products. The next day, allergic reactions were not so much.

Avatar m tn He was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. In the trauma centre, he kept throwing up due to the extreme pain. The doctors ran many tests and found out that his blood sugar level was very high. They also found out that he had very severe acute pancreatitis. Additionally as they scanned him, they found he had a cyst on his pancreas. He was in hospital for a couple of weeks and got better gradually. Doctors established that he had acute pancreatitis and secondary diabetes. The cyst was drained.

Avatar n tn Triglycerides are normally found in blood and help in transporting fat from one area of the body to another. High triglyerides are linked with development of atherosclerosis and pancreatitis. There may be many causes for the high triglycerides, such as obesity, high sugar diets, diabetes mellitus, excess alcohol intake, familial disposition. However, the most important is Unknown causes which are known as idiopathic factors, such factors which have not been explained as yet.
Avatar m tn I also found out from my doctor today that anomalies in the pancreas are a big cause in pancreatitis. You said that there is something wrong with your pancreas...perhaps this may be the reason?
Avatar n tn I would take special note of the biliary system, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction and pancreatitis. If I were in your shoes, I'd ask for a referral to a Gastroenterologist. Since you've had the upper endoscopy, you may already have one. There are a few less invasive tests such as the Endoscopic Ultrasound and MRCP-S that can image the whole thing including pancreas and ductal system. These might be able to get you the diagnosis you need to get on the healing track.
422425 tn?1307996590 During a CT scan last summer my DR found that I have several masses in both kidneys. After a biopsy I was diagnosed with interstitial nephritis. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this? Does it ever go away? I have large amounts of blood and protein in my urine and my kidney functions are decreased and have been for about 4 years already. I am scheduled with a kidney dr in a few weeks. Because it has been a year I am getting a little concerned.

Avatar f tn Flare-ups have persisted and in April 2007 I became even sicker, which is why I am writing in. I have been to so many doctors and no one is able to diagnose me. The Pancreatitis is very painful. but I can live with it. I know I have given you a lot of information, but the only things I am asking for help with are burning scalp and chronic hair loss. If I can get this pain to stop, I know I can go on and deal with the rest.
Avatar f tn I am at 35 year old female. I started not feeling well in Feb. I had chronic nausea and heartburn. Dr. Put me in nexium . Ultrasound showed a Gallstone. Had surgery and still did not feel better. GI Dr. Did an endoscopy that showed gastritis. Found out I am b12 and vitamin d deficient. When endocronologist did blood work my liver enzymes were slightly elevated. My regular Dr. Repeated the test about a month later and they were still elevated and even more. ast was 45 and alt was 83.
Avatar f tn The difference is that ALT is found predominantly in the liver, with clinically negligible quantities found in the kidneys, heart, and skeletal muscle, while AST is found in the liver, heart (cardiac muscle), skeletal muscle, kidneys, brain, and red blood cells.
Avatar f tn I went from moaning about it to screaming and writhing in pain. My poor parents could only look on in horror as I looked, I'm sure, like a possession case. Finally they scrounged up some Vicoden (Codeine) which did nothing at first. The pain started breaking up from a constant stabbing pain to phasing between incredible pain and excruciating pain. The waves of pain went from short and fast to far apart and slow. The lows and the highs both becoming lesser in magnitude.
Avatar f tn Hofmeister, Cumming, and Dhein (2001) wrote that this behavior in dogs has not been well-researched, and they are currently preparing a study. In a preliminary paper, they write that there are various hypotheses for this behavior in canines, although none have been proven: 1. To obtain attention from their caretakers. 2. From anxiety, stress, or upon being punished for bad behaviors. 3.
Avatar n tn I have probably had more than 6 of them and I never had a problem While AST is considered a liver enzyme AST it is also an enzyme found in high amounts in heart muscle and liver and skeletal muscle cells. It is also found in lesser amounts in other tissues.

2083449 tn?1381358308 Anyone with personal experience with this drug in pill form? I know I probably should ask her these questions, but I didn't start researching until after the phone conversation, plus I felt a little rushed and didn't want to keep her on the phone too long. Also, I would love some advice from people who have had surgery, and are addicts. This is my first time. How do you deal with it? I want to do this the right way, and I'm scared. I'm so scared of having to do this all over again.
Avatar n tn I am 25 y/o male. I am having a problem with diarrhea, and I think it's related in some way to alcohol. On both occassions I had been out the previous night drinking fairly heavily. What I drink doesn't seem to matter but the end result is the same. The next day after the drinking I wake up with what feels like a regular hangover. However, on both occassions I went out and had a big meal a few hours after rising. I feel fine while eating, perhaps a bit bloated.
Avatar f tn Two weeks after surgery I had my gall bladder removed and spent a week in the hospital with dehydration and pancreatitis. I have had that same stomach pain a couple other times since pancreatitis. Last week as I live by myself I had to call an ambulance as the pain in stomach was so severe. They did blood work and said my pancreais enzymes were elevated a little. Gave me pain pills and sent me home. I had a cat scan and endoscopy which did not show anything. Pain radiates to the back.
Avatar n tn Moochy is 3 years old and started vomiting a week ago. She coughed up two big hairballs in that time and wouldn't eat. I took her to the vet on the third day. The vet kept her for five days, did every test available and confirmed she has slight bilirubin and a very low white blood count but he couldn't find any cause. She doesn't have feline HIV or leukemia. He gave her broad spectrum antiobiotics and gave me some to give her now she's back home.
Avatar n tn When I was a little girl I'd get an isolated episode, projectile vomit until the veins in my face broke, and then was ok for a good year or so. The burps then started up again last October and were chronic and occurred 3-5 times a week. They stopped in Feb, and then began again in April. I have never had them last or be a problem for so long at a time. These burps ruin my life. Asides from the disgusting taste -- I have to spend 12 hours in bed or else I vomit.
