Pancreatitis in ectopic pancreas

Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis in ectopic pancreas

Avatar n tn the average time from the onset of symptoms until a diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis was 62months,, add or subtract 4 months. The delay in diagnosis is even longer in people without alcoholism, in whom the average time is 81 months from onset of symptoms to diagnosis. The natural history of pain in chronic pancreatitis is highly variable. Most patients experience intermittent attacks of pain at unpredictable intervals, while a minority of patients experience chronic pain.
Avatar m tn Decreased blood and urine amylase levels in a person with pancreatitis symptoms may indicate permanent damage to the amylase-producing cells in the pancreas. Increased blood amylase levels with normal to low urine amylase levels may indicate the presence of a macroamylase, a benign complex of amylase and other proteins that accumulates in the blood. Is there anything else I should know?
Avatar f tn Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, acidity, pancreatitis, or ectopic pregnancy or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. Pain under right shoulder blade is usually due to gall stones, duodenal ulcer and liver infection. Hence an ultrasound, liver function test and an upper GI endoscopy is needed for diagnosis.
Avatar m tn If the pain is under the shoulder blade then it could be due to a problem with the stomach (like acidity, gastric reflux, hiatal hernia) or due to pancreatitis, ectopic pregnancy (ruled out in your case as you are a male) or in the chest like angina or heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, aortic dissection. Since you have heaviness in chest, it could be any of the above conditions. It is difficult to diagnose on net.
Avatar f tn I went into hospital about 10 days ago to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. Whilst in there a large mass was found in my abdomen which, following an ultrasound scan, showed a very large pancreatic cyst from the tail measuring a huge 28cm x 15cm. It is so large it is compromising the pregnancy as there is no room for my uterus to expand! I am currently waiting to see the gastrenterologist (it will hopefully be this coming week).

In those individuals, causes of left sided abdominal pain are actually those causing right side abdominal pain in normal individuals. Here, we will concentrate on causes of left sided abdominal pain in normal setting.
Avatar n tn Even sitting in a car feels uncomfortable in the upper gastro region - near the pancreas, gallbladder, et al. I've had these checked out, and everything came out A-okay. Docs haven't a clue. EdwardRe's repost of commentary from Amollette89 makes me think it's possible all of these symptoms are related.
Avatar n tn Both of which returned little if no information as the upper GI showed mild gastritis and a small amount of fat in the pancreas which the doctor was not concerned about. I took some Prevacid for a while and it went away but has recently returned over the past 4 months. This time I have had another ultrasound, bloodwork, urinalysis, chest xray, and a HIDA Scan with ejection fracture, all of which have returned with no answers, showing absolutely nothing! I have an endoscopy scheduled next.
Avatar n tn Pain under the left shoulder blade can be a signal that there is a problem with the stomach or other abdominal structures (ulcers, pancreatitis, ectopic pregnancy) or in the chest (myocardial infarction [heart attack], pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, aortic dissection)." Has anyone been given a diagnosis related to internal organs are opposed to muscular pain?
