Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis and urinary

Avatar n tn However, I am still experiencing intermittent left side pain and have had three bowel movements today that were narrow and gray (almost colorless). I am concerned that this may be a sign of pancreatic problems, but I don't want to overreact. How many of these type of bowel movements should I have before I call the doctor. Is this an emergency? (no fever, chill, etc.
Avatar f tn We rushed him to the ER where they diagnosed him with food bloat. Within 2 days he developed pancreatitis and started to show significant signs of improvement (more energy, more appetite, drinking water, no more swelling, not tender, etc). They allowed us to treat him at home as long as he was eating and drinking and getting better every day, which he had been. We brought him back to the vet twice for extra fluids.
902019 tn?1249865014 The symptoms of autoimmune pancreatitis for me were weight loss, pale stools, gallbladder-like attacks (but longer-lasting) and elevated liver function tests - which initially were thought to be a bile duct obstruction complicated by blockage of gallbladder sludge. Stenting the common bile duct and later removal of gallbladder (which was in bad shape) still didn't solve the problems. See my response (above) to DT10 for further info.
Avatar f tn I'm wondering if you think he may have pancreatitis. I want to do an ipl test and I'm wondering what treatments to do if so. His dvm recommended famatodine possibly also for nausea but I'm not sure if he needs this since he isn't vomiting all the time. It is sporadic.

Avatar n tn If the pain is in the left lumbar region (see the quadrants of abdomen—a google image should get you this), then this could be due to stomach issues (like acidity), it may be due to pancreatitis, or spleen issues or kidney stones or kidney infection or due to urinary infection or colitis. An ultrasound of the abdomen followed by urine and stool examination may help clinch the diagnosis. You may need additional tests like CT scan of abdomen, serum amylase, lipase etc.
Avatar n tn Severe pain and no rest , she collapsed on the floor and the ambulance picked her up and took her to a different hospital. They placed a urinary catheter and she filled the urine bag to 2000 ml's. They are doing x-rays and CT scan. She is in emergency and we are waiting on results. Boy are we at a loss for what is going on. If anyone has ever had similiar problems would sure appreciate some imput. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Two times with bad hangovers I had episodes of significant pain and bloating in RUQ that subsided within a day or so. 10 weeks ago, after another period of heavy drinking I got the same RUQ discomfort but this time it has not stopped (I've since stopped drinking). Here's some info about my symptoms. - Pain - dullish ache in RUQ under by ribcage, 5-7/10, not debilitating, sometimes accompanied by a bloating sensation in the area. - Doesn't seem to be associated with the type of food I eat.
Avatar n tn I would recommend that you have this evaluated by your doctor for proper diagnosis and management. A complete medical history and physical examination are important to reach a diagnosis. A description of the pain, the quality, severity, exact location, timing or onset are important factors that you should tell your doctor. As for the browning around the eyes, this could be a separate hamless condition. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I went on a liquid diet after seeing the Dr. and was found to have a urinary tract infection, and what they thought to be pancreas problems. The pain decreased and I went home. A day or two later my stomach began to hurt and every time I would eat it would go away until I laid down or about an hour or two after eating. Then gurgling would start in my stomach and work its way down, its painful and very sensitive.
Avatar m tn High concentrations of GGT are found in the liver, bile ducts, and the kidney. Hence kidney and urinary problems could be causing the high GGT level. Greater-than-normal levels of GGT may indicate: congestive heart failure , cholestasis (congestion of the bile ducts) , cirrhosis, hepatitis , liver ischemia (blood flow deficiency), liver necrosis, liver tumor, high alcohol intake, use of hepatotoxic drugs (drugs toxic to liver).
Avatar n tn I have a e coli urinary track iffection and my pancreas showed elevated levels.
Avatar f tn A very strong urine can also indicate a urinary infection. I suggest you make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible and take a morning mid stream sample of your urine so that the doctor can check this out to see if you now have a urinary tract infection. It is very important for you to drink plenty of fluids and especially water. Try and drink at least 2 litres (4 pints) during the day. The colour of your urine should look a light straw colour.
Avatar f tn He is a very sensitive, nervous cat. His labs indicate that he does not have pancreatitis, and overall his lab work looks good. He had a full senior work up, as well as urinanalysis and the test for the pancreatitis (negative). He has been dehydrated, not eating well, nauseated and vomiting. Is the next step to do an ultrasound?
Avatar n tn I have been told, and believe this, that once you have pancreatitis (and you said you were diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis, meaning irreversible damage) that it never goes away. It is not unheard of to go through MANY years with little or no pain, just to have it all come back in a blaze of glory. I just went to a different doctor in Febuary for insurance reasons. I have been treated at Stanford and UCSF. Both places confirmed my diagnosis.
Avatar f tn The doctor did many tests but did not find anything. Throughout the week the pain seemed to have gotten worse and shifted to my left mid to lower back and side. I feel a lot of pressure. I have not been having any urination problems so I don't think it involoves my kidneys but not sure. Along with this pain I have been very nausiated and feeling fatigued. I have also had episodes of disorientation at times.
Avatar n tn This did wonders for the withdraw feelings, but the anxiety is over-whelming. I was burning out my skin, shaking, fearful thoughts and feelings raced, and a buzzed feeling has taken over my body. My question to you is, do you think that this anxiety will pass after a couple of weeks or do you think perhaps 20mg is too much for my anxiety? How long of a chance do you give it? You advice has been right on thus far, hope you can help me through the end.
Avatar n tn I am off all anti-depressants and pain medications and feel like I'm slowly waking from a nightmare of doubt and un-certainty that was probably being caused by the drugs.
Avatar n tn The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infection, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections. It could also be due to diverticulitis, Chron's disease, ulcerative colitis and parasitic infections. If your CT scan did not reveal anything you may have to go for blood tests and urine analysis. Discuss these options with your consulting doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
2026744 tn?1527710327 They also recommend treating patients with normal B12, but elevated urinary methylmalonic acid (MMA), homocysteine and/or holotranscobalamin (other markers of B12 deficiency). In Japan and Europe, the lower limit for B12 is between 500-550 pg/mL, the level associated with psychological and behavioral manifestations such as cognitive decline, dementia and memory loss.

931217 tn?1283484935 Spayed females had an increased risk for urinary tract stones, urinary tract infections, and urinary tract tumor, but not other causes of FLUTD. Intact females had a decreased risk for most causes.[122] While most cases of FLUTD are treatable and not life-threatening, urinary tract obstruction in males is a very serious condition. This occurred in about 12% of cats with FLUTD symptoms, and the risk is higher in castrated males cats.
Avatar n tn Other diseases that may cause increased levels of CA-125 include pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), endometriosis, liver disease (hepatitis or cirrhosis), pancreatitis, and lupus. Pregnancy and menstruation can cause elevated blood levels of CA-125. Here is some more information about Ovarian Cancer. You haven't mentioned any of these: There are no obvious symptoms until the disease has advanced.
Avatar f tn Also, In 2005 everything changed and I became ill with what was then diagnosed as Pancreatitis. I do not drink any alcohol and my gallbladder ( healthy) was removed. Flare-ups have persisted and in April 2007 I became even sicker, which is why I am writing in. I have been to so many doctors and no one is able to diagnose me. The Pancreatitis is very painful. but I can live with it.
Avatar n tn I have a male golden retriever, he is 11 years old and I'm extremely worried. My dog hasn't been eating properly for the past few weeks, he refuses to eat his normal food so we've been cooking him rice/eggs/meat/liver etc. Then after a while he doesn't eat himself unless we feed him by hands..and now he doesn't eat at all. Though he does eat some type of snacks. Now, he doesn't seem to have the energy to get up. He would try to get up but his legs seems to be weak or something.
Avatar n tn Have you considered actute pancreatitis or chrnic pancreatitis? Look up their symptoms and if you think that is what you have then the first thing to do is to ask your doctor for blood work and an ultrasound.
