Avatar n tn , acute MI, unstable angina, thoracic aortic dissection, tension pneumothorax, esophageal rupture, pulmonary embolism) are immediately life threatening. Some (e.g., angina pectoris, pericarditis, myocarditis, pneumothorax, pneumonia, pancreatitis, various thoracic malignancies) are potentially life threatening.
Avatar n tn no evidence of masses or pancreatitis, the absence of the pancreatic body and tail, no pancreatic ductal dilation, difficulty in visualizing the pancreatic duct, and hypodense areas in both lobes of the liver. A previous ERCP showed pancreas divisum. Liver biopsies showed missing small bile ducts, but the ERCP showed normal major bile ducts. Could these CT results be the source of my daughter's chronic pain? Would an ERCP procedure to correct the pancreas divisum provide relief?
Avatar m tn cardiac diseases, lung cancer, thoracic outlet syndrome, pancreatitis, gall bladder disease(fullness and pain in the right side of abdomen and chest after eating a greasy or fatty meal) and muscle pain[costochondritis(an inflammation of the joints in your chest)]. Try taking some anti inflammatory pain relievers and antacids.Heat compresses may also help. If the pain is still there, pls consult your physician to find out the confirmatory diagnosis. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Trouble was I had a really bad Nicorette habit. Low and behold I have chronic pancreatitis and if I chew the gum--the pancreatic pain skyrockets. I would say "YES" Nicorette either causes, triggers, or aggrevates pancreatitis.
Avatar n tn Lung infections like pneumonia and bronchitis can irritate the diaphragm and cause vomiting. Pancreatitis is another entity diagnosed by blood tests and ultrasound. Renal stones can cause vomiting and pain. The stones may be too small to be picked up by an ultrasound. Inflammatory bowel diseases can also be the culprits. Discuss these options with your doctor when you happen to meet him. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Heart disease can cause pain in the abdomen, as can pneumonia, pancreatitis or an ulcer. Ovulation, menstruation, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy can cause pain. A pregnant woman might experience Braxton Hicks or labor contractions or a placental abruption.

Avatar f tn Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, acidity, pancreatitis, or ectopic pregnancy or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. All the causes except acidity can be serious, and need to be ruled out immediately. Howevere, most likely, you could be having a strong gastric reflux or hiatal hernia—both can cause popping sound with fluid coming up.
Avatar m tn When this muscle shortens, this can press on brachial plexus (bundle of nerves and blood vessels in the armpit) and the subclavian artery and can compress or irritate these structures and cause symptoms such as abnormal sensation, cold extremity, spasms of pain, and lymphedema (swelling of lymph channels causing swelling of arm or leg) in the involved extremity. A chiropractor can help you with this.

Avatar f tn im now being directed to take a gastric emptying study which i already have had done a year ago and those results were normal..my question is...is here a link between pancreatitis and bile reflux? and if so, would it not be indicative of an obstruction (due to the minor dilation) of my pancreatic duct....is there any remedies or speculation around these test results?
Avatar f tn Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, acidity, pancreatitis or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. Since you have Grave’s disease, it can also be a joint related pain. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar n tn We took her back to the vet 2 days ago- they did another x ray and more blood work. They said she doesn’t have pancreatitis, and that her blood seems fine. But from her x rays they think she may have pneumonia. They gave us more antibiotic, and some pills to take the fluid out of the lungs. But at this point I don’t believe anything they say. Please help us!!
Avatar n tn I had hyperparathyroidism and it was my understanding that was separate from my thyroid issue. I'm not sure that is clinically correct though. Hope you get more answers.
Avatar m tn Now its been basically non-stop, confirmed by mri, that it is chronic pancreatitis, and fatty liver. Im being sent to a pain specialist for the pain, and hoping he can offer relief, because Ive been recieving very little help from my doctor with that. Im 5'5", used to be about 138lbs, and now am 162, with gain of 10lbs a month on a low fat diet, no meat, no bread, soft food. I dont understand except unless wieght gain is from thyroid going wrong, im hypothyroid.

Avatar n tn Last November I had a severe pneumonia and sepsis. The pneumonia was in the lower right lobe therefore I have assumed the pain to be scarring but when seeing a chiropractor today he thought the pain was too low down to be from my lungs and wondered if it could be from my liver. Can anytime help me with what typical symtoms are for a liver problem. Apart from the pain I have a lack of appetite, intermittent nausea and fatigue.
Avatar n tn t really given much say in the matter, as the pancreatitis was a nasty attack and I was strongly advised to get my gallbladder out asap after it. It was a straightforward procedure, with no after effects. I can't really say I felt better, because apart from the pancreatitis incident, I never had any problems beforehand! I do sometimes suffer with the "dumping syndrome" which, whilst unpleasant, doesn't worry me too much as I believe it's normal.
Avatar m tn Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, acidity, pancreatitis, or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. So, just like heart causes have been ruled out, other causes will need to be ruled out. Fatty liver and other related liver and gall bladder problems usually cause referred pain to right shoulder and right shoulder blade.

Avatar f tn Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, pancreatitis, or ectopic pregnancy or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. Pain under right shoulder blade is usually due to gall stones, duodenal ulcer and liver infection. Hence an ultrasound, liver function test and an upper GI endoscopy is needed for diagnosis. Liver infection can also cause fatigue and bruising.
