Avatar n tn He said that he believes that I have developed a fibrosis throughout my body because of the the problems I've developed with my lungs and heart and because I have just had pulmonary phlebitis in my left arm, the pancreatitis and pneumonia. He has scheduled me for a hydrascan and gastric emptying study. He is also going to do an ERCP after he looks at the original films that were done a few months ago. He increased the amount of pancreatic enzymes to double what I was taking before.
Avatar n tn Furthermore, without the actual radiographs, I cannot comment on the location of the fluid and the association with pneumonia. I am also not clear that a CT scan of her chest was done to help identify the issues of the fluid. This may be more helpful than the x-rays. Finally, an acute aspiration event can cause a "shadow" on the lung and then clear unless a patient is chronically aspirating.

Avatar f tn Each time before the Pancreaitis episode started he was on Omnicef due to Pneumonia. His enzymes are both high and the high numbers are even higher with each Pancreatitis. Resolving the Pancreatitis is taking longer as well. He has no gall stones, he is on gtube feedings (so no alcohol), his MRCP was normal. He did get Pancreatitis in 2009, but he was on Augmentin and Prednisone that time. I don't give him Augmentin after that time since it kills his stomach. My son is nonverbal.

Avatar n tn She was hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia five years ago, and has declined even moderate exercise since then, due to shortness of breath which makes exercise difficult and strenuous activity impossible. She has not seen a doctor since her release from the hospital, with the cause of the pneumonia still unknown. She has been suffering from the vomiting/adominal pain episodes for some two or three years now.
Avatar f tn Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, pancreatitis, or ectopic pregnancy (unlikely in her case but one has to be sure) or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. Pain under right shoulder blade is usually due to gall stones, duodenal ulcer and liver infection. Hence an ultrasound, liver function test and an upper GI endoscopy is needed for diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Lung infections like pneumonia and bronchitis can irritate the diaphragm and cause vomiting. Pancreatitis is another entity diagnosed by blood tests and ultrasound. Renal stones can cause vomiting and pain. The stones may be too small to be picked up by an ultrasound. Inflammatory bowel diseases can also be the culprits. Discuss these options with your doctor when you happen to meet him. In the meantime give her oral fluids like soups and broth as tolerated to keep her hydrated. Regards.
Avatar m tn Last October, I woke up with severe pain right next to my right scapula. I have been to doctors and even the E.R. I was given x-rays, bone scan and blood work. Everything was "fine". I have been seeing 2 different chiropractors. I get adjustments and many exercises to do. I was feeling better a few weeks ago, but today, my right scapula really hurts bad along with pain in my neck. I was self massaging my scapula where the pain is, but then after a while, the same pain returns.

All these are generally diagnosed by endoscopies and colonoscopies.

Avatar n tn it is a pretty dangerous med though - risk of acute pancreatitis and of carcinoma too. more often, risk of low red blood cells. luckily I had NONE of those problems. it is recommended to check your blood values very often at the beginning, even once a week (I did it once every two weeks, then slowed down). pred made me feel dizzy and confused and gave me ear ringing that is still there now that I'm 5 months off. I never missed a day on work, even if it has been hard.

Avatar n tn no evidence of masses or pancreatitis, the absence of the pancreatic body and tail, no pancreatic ductal dilation, difficulty in visualizing the pancreatic duct, and hypodense areas in both lobes of the liver. A previous ERCP showed pancreas divisum. Liver biopsies showed missing small bile ducts, but the ERCP showed normal major bile ducts. Could these CT results be the source of my daughter's chronic pain? Would an ERCP procedure to correct the pancreas divisum provide relief?
710547 tn?1295449630 They can't be sure, but the pancreas itself, as well as my liver are both enlarged, and I had two pancreatitis attacks while there. The lung nodule seems stable, but there's a new ovoid growth at the base where I have atelectasis bilaterally in the bases, and scarring throughout. My blood work is bad, bad, bad - and I truly didn't think it could get any worse. My Dr. doesn't think I have very long to live and I find myself rather frightened.
Avatar f tn Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, acidity, pancreatitis, or ectopic pregnancy or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection. All the causes except acidity can be serious, and need to be ruled out immediately. Howevere, most likely, you could be having a strong gastric reflux or hiatal hernia—both can cause popping sound with fluid coming up.
Avatar f tn I am a 29-year-old female recently diagnosed with Addison's Disease, hypothyroidism, pancreatitis, possible hypoparathyroidism and ovarian failure, and allergies to over 40 foods. I have not been tested for environmental allergies yet. My doctors believe there is a vascular component underlying all of these endocrine problems, and have collectively suggested Churg-Strauss vasculitis.
Avatar n tn There are many listervs with migraine sufferers and epileptics mourning hair loss and topomax---and their neurologists' denial of the relationship. I located a PDR, and it does list alopecia as a "less common side effect". I decided to pursue expert neurologists at a research university 3 hours away from me for help---and a medication switch. They denied my hair loss could be due to the topomax, flatly, and recommended I use Head and Shoulders.

Avatar f tn Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Walking around also helps clear gas. Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP to run tests and examination to clinch a diagnosis. Take care!
Avatar n tn This did wonders for the withdraw feelings, but the anxiety is over-whelming. I was burning out my skin, shaking, fearful thoughts and feelings raced, and a buzzed feeling has taken over my body. My question to you is, do you think that this anxiety will pass after a couple of weeks or do you think perhaps 20mg is too much for my anxiety? How long of a chance do you give it? You advice has been right on thus far, hope you can help me through the end.
Avatar n tn I am off all anti-depressants and pain medications and feel like I'm slowly waking from a nightmare of doubt and un-certainty that was probably being caused by the drugs.
Avatar n tn These pains are horrible, and I don't want to go anywhere, because I don't want to risk being somewhere else when I get them, because I want to scream and cry so much and loud when I get them! I can't eat because I get these pains almost everytime, and I don't know if the food is the cause of this. I don't eat any milk products or bread! Please, please help me! I'm getting really hopeless here, and sometimes I think it would be easier if I just died!
Avatar n tn Just curious if Pancreatitis has been ruled out. I had it and was sick as a dog and throwing up a LOT. It turned out to be gall stones and they removed my gall bladder because my pancreas kept getting inflamed. Then I got pneumonia while I was in the hospital so they had to keep rescheduling the surgery. I was in there for 2 1/2 weeks!
