Avatar f tn I am going thru menopause and have not had sex in about 3 years (no lobito), anyway I had sex recently and it was very painful... like my vagina had closed up for business!!! It felt very constricted and as I said was extremely painful. What vaginal conditions can cause these types of symptoms? Has anyone else experienced this?
463897 tn?1468013750 estrogen deficiency, sex after menopause, erectile dysfunction, …to name a few. Please be sure your question is complete and clear before you click on POST. Thanks and welcome to the forum!
Avatar n tn I am a 60-year-old in reasonably good health, who, since menopause about 6 years ago, has experienced sharp deep painful 'muscle' spasms at orgasm. They subside within a few minutes to a half hour, but, needless to say, put a damper on my sex life with my husband of 30 years. My gynocologist termed it 'tenting' and suggested i take ibuprofren before sex. Hasn't helped.
Avatar f tn I am almost 61 and I miss sex. Problem is I have vaginal dryness and it seems like everything is getting smaller in my vaginal area. What can I do?
Avatar n tn Sex is very painful at the minute, I've been to see all medical professionals see if I can get some help but nothing is getting sorted, I've been for externals, internals, swabs, tests, no one can find anything wrong, it's quite frustrating and me and my partner are frustrated to say the least.
Avatar f tn I've been having some vaginal irritation burning, itching, painful intercourse for many months now. I'm a 56 year old menopausal woman. I've been going to see my ob/gyn about this problem for years now. He tells me that the vaginal walls are thinning because of my age and the menopause, so he prescribed Premarin. I started using it then I stopped because it didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference at first.
Avatar f tn Hi, this is a forum for sexually transmitted infections, is this a concern? Painful sex could be anything. Do you have any sores in the genital area?
707563 tn?1626361905 But the new study shows that the reasons many women stop wanting sex, enjoying sex and having sex are far more complex. While women traditionally have been blamed when sex wanes in a relationship, the research shows that, often, it’s the health of a woman’s partner that determines whether she remains sexually active and satisfied with her sex life. (Most studies have focused entirely on heterosexual women, so less is known about same-sex couples after menopause.
Avatar f tn I am 51, going through menopause and hadn't had sex in 3 1/2 years. I attempted to have sex yesterday. I couldn't get wet, we tried lube. I expected some dryness bcuz I'm mid-menopausal. He is somewhat large. It hurt worse than I remember losing my virginity hurting. Will sex always be painful now?
254689 tn?1251180040 Dear Doctor: I'm so confused. I just turned 46 and I had a baby 15 months ago. Since then, my periods have been so strange - irregular & now I haven't had one in 3 months (I'm not pregnant - tubes tied). My sex drive is completely gone which is horrible for me because it's always been pretty high. I've put on weight - after my pregnancy, I lost all of my baby weight only to gain it back a couple of months later.
Avatar f tn Age and sex? I need more info......
Avatar f tn m just going to have to come to terms with the fact that penetrative sex is painful, so I should just stick to oral sex and mutual masturbation. I find this to be an unsatisfactory answer. I have also been told to "learn how to have pain free sex," with no further explanation. I do have vaginal endo, I had an exam to see if the tendons around my vagina have hardened, which is the most common cause of this type of pain. As it turns out they have not hardened or become tight.

Avatar f tn Hi Im 51 and always have had painful heavy periods every month , but for three months now im having painful periods every week and bleed after sex , I have polpys fibroids and a mass on my left tube ,which im having no treatment for, could this be menopause or something else.
Avatar f tn If you are close to your period it can cause your period to start sooner and cause more painful cramps before your period starts. There has also been some link between more painful cramping in women who are closer to menopause or in menopause. A warm compress or heating pad should help. Endometriosis, fibroids and UTIs can also cause pain after orgasm so its best if you see a doctor to rule those things out. Good luck.
Avatar f tn The lubrication will certainly help as those of us of a certain age find out that after menopause and as we continue to age, we simply run out of juice, so to speak. If you are not embarrassed to ask your pharmacist, have him/her recommend a lubricant for older women. They DO exist. Also, your husband needs to proceed VERY slowly...........penetrating further only if there is no SEVERE pain.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know wha I could do to make sex less painful and more enjoyable? Please help! Im open to ALL suggestions.
Avatar n tn Also since I started having sex again I notice it is painful slowly getting less painful but I think the first time we had sex he ripped something inside me at least it felt that way how can I make it not painfull anymore?
Avatar n tn I do still crave intercourse, but the shere though of what I experience is to much to bare, and what starts out in my head as what will be enjoyable, is excruciatingly painful, to thye point that my sex life is not there. I know there are of course other ways to satisfy ones self , but would love to have pleasurable intercourse again. My uterous lining is also as thin as it can get too.
1713674 tn?1308576562 s problem, she might want to use the cream for general purposes, and maybe this would also rekindle her interest in sex. Be sympathetic, nothing is a turn-off like painful sex. If that is it, however, she might be convinced to try some solutions rather than give up on sex entirely.
698780 tn?1229365163 I looked at lot for symptoms of menopause, but mostly found ads for pills. My mom was no help..just said she never had any symptoms; she just stopped bleeding. So my thoughts were:1) you get some kind of heat wave but everyone described it differently, 2)you stop bleeding (yay!!) 3) your body dries up, must use WD40 for lubrication b4 sex, and you dint want it anyway because you're old, wrinkly and tired.
Avatar f tn Dear BCLady2009: It is very difficult to know whether a menstrual cycle will return after chemotherapy. In general, the closer a woman is to her natural menopause, the more likely that chemotherapy will induce menopause. We always caution women not to assume that no menstruation means no fertility. You never know when or if menstruation may return and becoming pregnant while on chemotherapy (herceptin) would not be recommended.
Avatar f tn It was extremely painful. I have been having regular hot flashes, tender breasts, painful sex, and no period for four months. (and I have always been very regular, unless I'm nursing.) The hot flashes started a week after my last period so, I'm pretty sure I'm beginning the change and I'm only 28. It can happen. The doctors often don't know for sure either, but at least they can tell you if it is something else.
Avatar f tn Hi jojo, Why not come visit us on the Ovarian Cyst Forum. This forum is primarily for Ovarian Cancer and there probably will be more folks replying to you on the "cyst" forum. You could also check out the Hysterectomy Forum. I had my ovary removed when I had the cyst removed but I'm also post menopausal so it really isn't the same as it is for you.. Pop on over to the Ovarian Cyst forum and post this over there..
Avatar n tn I was fully in menopause, hot flashes, atrophic tissue, painful intercourse, FSH being 61 (over 40 indicates menopause). Recently I had exam because I felt like I had pms and was told my tissue was healthy, my FSH was down to 14.9, my hot flashes have stopped, sex was enjoyable again and now I am having a regular period. I was wondering how many women experience this. I heard you have to go 1 year to be in menopause, I haven't had one since May 2006.
1444053 tn?1365456815 I have a follow up with the gyneacologist to check a cyst seen on ovary and will definatly ask about this but I now found out the tablets I am on for acid reflux may actually be the cause of the dryness and nothing to do with the novasure, and it hasnt caused menopause the periods could return 12months or more after novasure was done, I dont have any other menopause symptoms right now.
1354741 tn?1277181242 t seem concerned so much because I am of menopause age. Most recently I saw him because of a blister type lesion that appeared on my labia. Diagnostic culture ruled out herpes but I still have this discharge. He recommended that I return should the blister return. Is it normal for me to have this discharge if I am pre-menopausal. I've also had some light spotting.
Avatar n tn m growing black facial hair, which has never happened. My menstrual cycles are usually heavy and painful. I'm tired all the time. I went to the doctor in May when I realized the weight was starting. All the T3, T4 tests came back normal. Even a metabolism test came back normal. I have no children. My mother has hypothyroidism, but apparently I don't. I wondered if it could relate to an autoimmune disease, since I had breast augmentation 2 years ago.
