Avatar f tn I am going thru menopause and have not had sex in about 3 years (no lobito), anyway I had sex recently and it was very painful... like my vagina had closed up for business!!! It felt very constricted and as I said was extremely painful. What vaginal conditions can cause these types of symptoms? Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar n tn I am a 60-year-old in reasonably good health, who, since menopause about 6 years ago, has experienced sharp deep painful 'muscle' spasms at orgasm. They subside within a few minutes to a half hour, but, needless to say, put a damper on my sex life with my husband of 30 years. My gynocologist termed it 'tenting' and suggested i take ibuprofren before sex. Hasn't helped.
1713674 tn?1308576562 s problem, she might want to use the cream for general purposes, and maybe this would also rekindle her interest in sex. Be sympathetic, nothing is a turn-off like painful sex. If that is it, however, she might be convinced to try some solutions rather than give up on sex entirely.
Avatar f tn I am almost 61 and I miss sex. Problem is I have vaginal dryness and it seems like everything is getting smaller in my vaginal area. What can I do?
707563 tn?1626361905 But the new study shows that the reasons many women stop wanting sex, enjoying sex and having sex are far more complex. While women traditionally have been blamed when sex wanes in a relationship, the research shows that, often, it’s the health of a woman’s partner that determines whether she remains sexually active and satisfied with her sex life. (Most studies have focused entirely on heterosexual women, so less is known about same-sex couples after menopause.
Avatar f tn I am 51, going through menopause and hadn't had sex in 3 1/2 years. I attempted to have sex yesterday. I couldn't get wet, we tried lube. I expected some dryness bcuz I'm mid-menopausal. He is somewhat large. It hurt worse than I remember losing my virginity hurting. Will sex always be painful now?
Avatar f tn just recently in the past couple of months it has become painful to have intercourse without any lubrication applied. it almost feels like i am being scraped inside at the time. what should i do or what can relieve this situation.
Avatar f tn I skipped the month of June. In July I had 4 periods, with only a week break in between. Each lasted for two weeks long and were heavy and very watery. I bled twice in August. And just had a period from August 30th to Sep 5th which was very heavy and watery. So far I have had no more bleeding this month....yet.
Avatar f tn Sorry off track anyway he biopsy showed that I have liched sclerosis which basic causes everything in that area to narrow causeing very painful sex especially on penetetration. So i had to put steriod cream on twice a day for two week and then twice a week forever. But since then it has helped so much. I also was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis. I am preachin on that like its no bodys business. Because since I started treatement I feel like a new person.
Avatar f tn There has also been some link between more painful cramping in women who are closer to menopause or in menopause. A warm compress or heating pad should help. Endometriosis, fibroids and UTIs can also cause pain after orgasm so its best if you see a doctor to rule those things out. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Hi Im 51 and always have had painful heavy periods every month , but for three months now im having painful periods every week and bleed after sex , I have polpys fibroids and a mass on my left tube ,which im having no treatment for, could this be menopause or something else.
Avatar n tn Also since I started having sex again I notice it is painful slowly getting less painful but I think the first time we had sex he ripped something inside me at least it felt that way how can I make it not painfull anymore?
Avatar n tn I heard that as more we age the vagina walls become thinner but I also heard that if you want your vagina to be heatlhy in that tricky age as if you are above 40´there are several changes in your female organs and yourself, it helps to have sex often to make your vagina like more active in some way Is that true and why is that?
Avatar f tn I've been having some vaginal irritation burning, itching, painful intercourse for many months now. I'm a 56 year old menopausal woman. I've been going to see my ob/gyn about this problem for years now. He tells me that the vaginal walls are thinning because of my age and the menopause, so he prescribed Premarin. I started using it then I stopped because it didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference at first.
Avatar f tn Please could someone tell me who I can turn to for help.
Avatar n tn Has this happened to any of you? I was fully in menopause, hot flashes, atrophic tissue, painful intercourse, FSH being 61 (over 40 indicates menopause). Recently I had exam because I felt like I had pms and was told my tissue was healthy, my FSH was down to 14.9, my hot flashes have stopped, sex was enjoyable again and now I am having a regular period. I was wondering how many women experience this. I heard you have to go 1 year to be in menopause, I haven't had one since May 2006.
Avatar m tn My libido had been next to non-existent since menopause and now I am in overdrive. My husband travels a lot, but that has never been an issue. I have no desire for sex with anyone but him, but now I masturbate many times during the day and my "toy" is with me whenever I am home. My husband hasn't been home since this started, and I don't want to kill him when he gets home. This started literally overnight about a week ago. Please help!!!!!
Avatar f tn It was extremely painful. I have been having regular hot flashes, tender breasts, painful sex, and no period for four months. (and I have always been very regular, unless I'm nursing.) The hot flashes started a week after my last period so, I'm pretty sure I'm beginning the change and I'm only 28. It can happen. The doctors often don't know for sure either, but at least they can tell you if it is something else.
1354741 tn?1277181242 Hi, Georgilynn-- I'm perimenopausal, too, and about 2 years ago (at 50) started having spotting as well as a weird discharge that sounds kind of like what you're describing. I thought it was just irregular hormones but then occasionally, I had a little cramping with it. (Do you have a cramping sensation?) The weird thing about the discharge is that it changed--sometimes it was bloody like bright to medium red, other times it was beige and sometimes even brownish or burgundy in color.
Avatar f tn husbands sperm burns inside my vagina after he ejaculates, he eats nothing but very spicy foods and after no sex for years due to this problem, what can be done? It's not menopause, because we've had sex since then - for me is was at age 35.
1444053 tn?1365456815 I have a follow up with the gyneacologist to check a cyst seen on ovary and will definatly ask about this but I now found out the tablets I am on for acid reflux may actually be the cause of the dryness and nothing to do with the novasure, and it hasnt caused menopause the periods could return 12months or more after novasure was done, I dont have any other menopause symptoms right now.
Avatar f tn Keep good records of your symptoms - maybe use a period app to do that - and every time you go to the doctor, get it on record that you are having pain, let her (or whatever doctor you see) know how much pain you are in, what your periods are like, if sex is painful, if orgasms are painful, if bowel movements are painful, etc. The better the documentation, the better the chances of you getting what you want when you want it. Good luck!
Avatar n tn The only way to know if you are truly in menopause is by having your hormones tested. Chemo does stop the menstrual cycle but that can be temporary, especially gven your age. Triple negative cancers tend to be quite aggressive and I think for sure you should schedule an appointment with your oncologist to get peace of mind. Don't freak out, your body is just changing again. I suggest you see your doctor to make SURE it's nothing worrisome.
Avatar f tn I am a 56 y/o woman and in menopause. haven't had a period for over a year. When ever I try to have sex with my husband we both end up with actual cuts. We have tried a variety of lubricants- to no avail. I would like to continue our sexual relationship but this is painful for both of us. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn It seems like many women (not all, of course) lose all interest in sex either at or after menopause. I’ve read that some have had success with hormone balancing. Believe it or not, women’s bodies make small amounts of the male hormone Testosterone, which has a significant effect on libido, and some have benefitted from receiving small doses of ‘T’, with a Dr’s supervision, of course. Also, the vaginal tissues tend to thin & sort of ‘dry up’ later in life, making intercourse very painful.
Avatar f tn sounds awesome! congrats on the no boob pain. menopause usually comes between 45 & 55. I would imagine that your hormones start to taper off a bit during that time--esp. estrogen, so could be.
