Painful lump on wrist

Common Questions and Answers about Painful lump on wrist

Avatar m tn hello! I have a medium sized lump on the posterior aspect of my right wrist, almost in line with my index finger, it's neither soft, nor hard just somewhere in between. It has been there for about 3 years but never caused any problems before but now sometimes it's painful to lift heavier objects. It usually grows then goes away for a while just to come back even larger.
Avatar f tn I am 14 years old and I have been experiencing pain in my wrist for a little under 5 months. It is a hard lump on my right is located under my pinky side of the wrist and where the bone is. It is bigger and fatter than my left wrists bone. It hurts to twist both ways more clockwise than the other. Recently it has also even aching and hurting when I'm not doing anything with it. I have asked my parents if we should check it but they said no.
Avatar f tn I am an athletic trainer and I had athletes that have wrist trouble all the time. Is the clicking on the radial or ulnar side or the wrist? If on the ulnar side it could be the TFCC which is cartilage that can get irritated or torn and pop and click. You may also have a carpal bone out of place. An orthopedic doctor should be able to help you out pretty easily! If you aren't having tingling, numbness or anything like that I wouldn't chalk it up to carpal tunnel just yet!
Avatar f tn The wrist pain has a lump in the area of my radial artery on my right side. My neck is stiff and also has a painful lump in the area of my external jugular vein. I don't know if they have anything to do with eachother, are serious, or whether I am just being paranoid. Can you help?
Avatar n tn Most of the time they show up on top of a persons wrist but they are also often found on top of ones knuckles. This is very common. It can be very bothersome especially on top of a joint that is constantly in motion. The only sure fire way to remove it is to have it surgically removed because as long as the cyst sack stays intact, the cyst will continue to refill. It's a very easy quick surgery done in office. However, this may not even be what is going on with you.
Avatar n tn I have a lump on my right wrist the posing question this a form of varicose veins? the reason i suspect that it may be is that it comes and goes, the lump is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in dia. it occasionally itches and is blueish in color. I have been able to keep the itching to a minimum by wearing an ace bandage snugly around my wrist but not so tight as to cause additional problems. also i tried using the top of a childs sock(elastic) and this seemed to control the lump too.
Avatar f tn No i haven't, im hoping to go to the physio or have ultra sound treatment on my hands and wrist. The lump on my hand isnt painful, from what you have said mine doesnt sound like a ganglion. The doctor felt the lump but just said it was inflammed. I was back at work today, my wrists dont hurt more when im typing just flexing, like answering the phone, so im not sure if ive just over stretched them because i moved my desk around last week changing my posture. Bad move i have changed back now.
206807 tn?1331939784 Today I noticed a knot about the size of a small grape has formed on the side of my wrist. As some of you know, I have just recently started tx. My question is, could this be a tx side that I haven’t heard about, or just a coincidence?
Avatar f tn Thanks for using the forum. I am not sure what is causing the painful bump you have on your wrist. It is possible that you have strained it or done some damage to a ligament. I would recommend that you ice it and try to rest the wrist . Avoid any repetitive motion with that wrist if possible as it heals. If it continues to bother you, I recommend that you have it checked by a doctor to make sure that there is not an injury that needs treatment.
Avatar n tn I've had exactly the same condition develop over the past 2-3 weeks on a large vein on my left wrist. It's not extremely painful but a little sore if touched. Any feedback would be helpful if you've found a resolution. Thanks!

Avatar n tn Hard painful lum noted on top left hand below wrist and in line with index and middle finger. Very painful when bumped and with flexion. Avatar f tn my husband has a smooth painless lump on his forearm above the wrist to the right side. you can't notice the bump unless you look deeply but when i touch it you feel it and it's not hard at all. what is this?
Avatar m tn I just found a lump on my left forearm, about an inch above my wrist. It's about 1.5 inches long, oblong, flat on top, and painless. It feels rubbery with a softer spot in the center, where I notice it looks a bit yellow or pale, and I can move it slightly. I'm making an appointment with my doctor, but would be grateful for any insight or impressions. It seemed to appear suddenly...unless I somehow missed it, which is unlikely.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've had a lump on my forearm between my elbow and wrist for over a year now. It doesn't seem to be getting any bigger and when I first got it my intern doct. told me not to worry about it. It seems to be able to be moved around and looks horrible. What type of doctor should I go see about it? I think I would like it removed. Who should I call.
Avatar n tn It is not visible but I can feel the lump when I press doen on the area. It's been there for a year or more but the pain is increasing. If I do certain things that involve the left hand, like using tools or bending it in a certain way, I get substantial pain beginning where the lump is and spreading through that area of my hand and down the wrist. The area continually stays sore and the situation is getting old.
1027575 tn?1390964018 Just make sure your therapist doesn't push all your scar tissue into one spot like mine did. I have a lump on my wrist of scar tissue. Any ways, let us know how things are going. Oh yeah I had a few questions. Your original surgery for the small Tfcc but then you had more surgeries, what were those surgeries if you don't mind me asking?

Avatar f tn It does not sound like shingles to me which presents as painful itchy blisters on the chest and back. It is characterized by round bump or rash appearing on the joints or back of hands. No treatment is required and it may go on its own. Severe cases may need steroids, non-steroid topical anti-inflammatory creams such as tacrolimus, cryotherapy, laser treatment or UV light therapy. Consultation of a dermatologist will be the best in your case.
Avatar f tn The lump began to grow and then it became painful. It's always been hard and moveable. Last year, the bump began to sweat when my forehead sweats. When I get a hot flash, and my head sweats - only the bump is sweating too. Last week, I began to get pulsing shooting paint through the bump. What could this bump be?

Avatar m tn After a recent heavy-lifting right hand strain with pain, I now have wrist-crease and adjacent forearm pain on the ulnar side, mostly with is done when throwing a football. this has persisted since approximately 5/11/2013.
