925243 tn?1251483645 The other day, after my shirt had been digging in to my armpit in that same spot myself, the area began to feel a little bit tender. Upon further inspection yesterday, I noticed that it is indeed very tender to the touch, warm, swollen (mostly after I had been fussing with the little lump and the area), and that there is a very small lump in the fatty tissue and the area of skin above it is pink and raised.

Avatar n tn Hello, Doctor-- Within the past four weeks, I have engaged in protected sex with two women who have numerous sexual partners (escorts). I'm not writing to discuss the relative risk involved, but I have been worried about a lump under my right armpit that I found today. I found it accidentally when showering. I wanted to ask about "armpit lymph node swelling.
Avatar f tn I am 47 year old female and noticed a small lump in my armpit was sore and decided that it was a bug bit however I now have another one in almost the exact same area under my other armpit. Should I be concerned?
Avatar n tn During the ultrasound, the technician focused on a spot in the lower area of my left breast - the same side with the lump in the armpit. Are these related? The information on the internet about lymphoma scares me because I get night sweats too. At my next appointment I intend to insist that my doctor arrange to have fluid drawn from this lump and tested. Any input?
Avatar f tn HI, I'm a 23 year old female. I have had a small pea-sized lump in my left armpit for... a long time. I really can't remember for how long I've had it now, it could be as much as a year, or as little as 4 months. At first I though it was just an ingrown hair from shaving/waxing and as I do for other bumps of this kind, I've been waiting for a sign of the hair to surface or a 'whitehead' so to speak, to form so that I could clear it out with a needle if it didn't go on it's own.
Avatar n tn I woke up this morning with several painful lumps in my left armpit. They are slightly red and hard to the touch. I know it is not from shaving considering I have not shaved for a few days and I have not taken any antibiotics for several years. What on earth could this be? I am only 20 so I'm pretty sure it's not breast cancer. All the same though, it's rather painful and I would like to know what's going on. Thank you!
Avatar n tn Got blood drawn and he said to come back in two weeks after thanksgiving. When I returned he examed the lymphnoid in the armpit and said it felt more defined and larger, I thought it felt a bit smaller and had noticed less pain.He went over blood test results and said I was neg for mono and my white blood was alittle elevated (possibly due to small area on hand or cold poss?
Avatar f tn A little over a month ago, a lump started growing in my left armpit. It was hot, tender, painful, and eventually about the width of a quarter. About a week later, it started decreasing in size, until it shrunk to about the size of a dime. By then it was no longer hot or painful, barely noticeable. Then at about 3 weeks it began growing again, not painful, but noticeably larger. After a few days, it started shrinking again. As of right now, it is currently increasing in size, but not extremely.
Avatar m tn Doesn't change a thing.
Avatar n tn A few days ago, I noticed a small lump under my right arm (on my right armpit). It wasn't painful at that time, but when I touched it while taking a bath, it started getting painful after that. Right now there are 2 lumps, one above the other on my right armpit, about 1.7cm by 1.3 cm, oval-shaped. The top one is slightly smaller than the bottom one. They are causing me pain whenever I move my arm, lean on my right side or lift my arm.
Avatar n tn Then it finally opened a little and pus started to come out, so it leaked out and i thought it was done but it came back again and swelled again like 2 months later, now, i released most of the pus but now there is a small hole in my armpit and there is a small piece/lump of tissue it looks like that is sticking out of my armpit, approx 1mm in diameter is the hole and I don't know what I should do, will it heal by itself , is the skin going to grow over it? Do i need stitches?
Avatar f tn Hi, Usually a painful lump in the armpit is not indicative of breast cancer. It could be something as simple as a cyst or inflamed hair follicle. For the time being, avoid antiperspirant ,apply warm compresses, use an antibacterial soap and see how it goes in a few days. In case the symptoms persist, please consult your health care provider or a dermatologist because lumps under the armpit that don't go away is concerning since lymph nodes are also present in this area and should be evaluated.
Avatar m tn hi! i have a little pea sized lump in my armpit. for about a months or 2, can't remember exactly. it is close to where the arm joines the chest but in the armpit. it is not painful, maybe when i touch it too much it becomes sensitive. i am 19 weeks pregnant as well. went to gp who felt it and said it is probably cyst asked me to come back in 1 month if it grows bigger. but i am still worried, could it be cancer? it is close to the surface of the skin, but there is nothing on the skin surface.
Avatar n tn Last month i noticed a painful lump under my left arm pit, I didn't take much notice. The pain went away and the lump got smaller. Now 3 weeks later the pain is back. It feel like I pulled a muscle in my left shoulder and there is a pinching pain under my left arm. If you could advise me in anyway it would be appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone. I have a few questions about a lump in my left armpit. I noticed it a week ago and at first it was very long actually. It was the length of my index and middle fingers next to each other in width if that makes sense. It was also very painful. Now it has shrunk in size and has gotten more round. Its less than an inch in size when at first it was larger than an inch.
Avatar n tn Hi. The painful lumps in your right armpit could be a beginning localized infection like an abscess. There is a condition known as hidradenitis suppurativa where the infection commonly starts around hair follicles and sweat glands, resulting in multiple lumps and abscess formation. Most commonly affected areas are the axilla and inguinal areas. It would be best to consult your doctor for proper evaluation and management. Take care.
Avatar n tn I am a 46 y/o woman with a painful lump under my left armpit too. I have very deep pain in this area if any one hugs me on my left side or I palpate the area. I have had a mammogram, and they are doing an mri because I do have some swelling of my lymph tissue, any body else experience anything like this?
Avatar n tn Doctor, I'm 38 yrs and noticed the small 'ball bearing' lump in my left armpit (since >10 yrs ago) has grown bigger (around 0.8cm) and irregular in shape (to the touch and visible). When I press it, I feel a numbing sensation down the left arm. My left nipple retracted after my 2nd child was born (she's 9 yrs now). The left breast feels heavier and lumpier than the right side, too, and is a little painful when pressed. I do monthly breast examination but cannot feel lumps in that breast.
Avatar f tn Hi Allergic reactions seldom present with enlarged lymph nodes unless the allergies are drug induced or is simply associated with an underlying infectious process. The lump in the armpit and the groin may suggest that you need to have nearby areas of the body assessed. The enlarged node in the armpit may suggest infections in the chest especially in the areas of the breast and the arms. An enlarged node in the groin requires a complete pelvic examination.
Avatar f tn Today, the right side had little white bumps that i popped and they kind of oozed. The right one also has a lump in it, at least pea sized. The left side feels very hard..but not a lump like the right side has. It looks like rashes on both arms but i'm just not sure with the way the lumps are present. Please help!
