im suffering from back pain now for 3 weeks already. when i cough my upper back is aching and also when i take a deep breath. i don't cough really hard, i only cough when i take deep breath and that also my upper back ache. does my back pain is related with the coughing? do i need to go to my doctor already? my back pain is getting worst especially when i try to lift heavy things. does this mean there's something wrong with my lungs? do i need to have an x-ray?

I have just got over a cold and now when ever i cough or sneeze my lower back hurts really bad. The pain is in the lower part of my spine and if im walking i have to stop and hold onto something to keep from falling due to how painful it is. I was wondering what could cause this and if i should go see a doctor about it. I also have a weird noise sometimes in my breathing.
Woke up today noticing pain in my diaphram area when I cough. Pain is limited to instant of coughing. Yes, I am overweight - I think that may have to do with it...but not sure. First time ever experiencing this; 55 y/o, quit smoking 2001. No respiratory symptoms history. Had MRI done a year ago or so - completely normal.
I always have awful pain in my back when coughing or sneezing. It drives me nuts! That's why I do everything in my power to stay clear of colds, etc.
With me, it has to do with a herniated lumbar disk. Do you have something like that? If not, I wonder if there's something going on in your lungs. I know sometimes the pain in the lungs can feel like its coming from the back. Maybe you should call your Dr and at least tell him the symptoms.

ve been having pain in my lower back and right leg (right leg the pain has been bad since august 2013 , while sneezing and coughing . Though Not much of pain in the back) . I just got an MRI and in the report it says the following :
1. Lumberisation os S1 is seen
2. small marginal anterior osteophytes are seen at all lumber levels
3. No t2 STIR hyperintense focus is seen.
4. Diffuse disc bulge is seen at L5-S1 level indenting the theca and causing bilateral mild neural foraminal senosis.
I am 20 year old i was gyming in my house whithout supporter while after sum time pain started in my testicles when i checked them they was haging lower than normal nd they was looking weak nd after than my penis is not getting harder due to tention or what but everything was fine before 2 days plz help me is there any doctor from give me your no plz reply m in big problem
However, this morning I woke up and stretched my arms, and I got a sharp pain that feels like it’s right under my sternum and in the same place as my upper back. Besides a few lone coughs a couple days ago, I haven’t been coughing for almost two weeks.

The type of pain described by you is more consistent with a mechanical back pain, where in with movements like changes in posture or breathing, coughing and sneezing the pain is aggravated. Cough and sneezing cause the muscles to contract as a protective mechanism around the injured part and hence the pain. This is more common with small fractures or a herniated disc. So, I would advise you to consult your doctor at the earliest to rule out a fracture. A plain x ray may show up a fracture.
this morning was my 3rd day and while I feel somewhat better I still have ache in back of head when bending, rising, coughing etc. I am to be scheduled next week for a physical therapist for head and agonizing mid back pain. I don't really have a question. Guess I'm wondering if there is hope for this agony to end?

Went to chiropractor that morning. Late that day intense pain in back of head when bending forward, coughing, clearing throat. Went online to ask a doctor where I described recent activities but was told it sounded like sinus infection. Next day saw chiropractor again who just gently did range of motion in neck and head and said he had never in 60 years of practice ever seen anything like it.
I just got back from my family doctor. She showed me what the ER sent them via fax. The ER doctor stated that the x-rays were inconclusive for pneumonia and nothing else was found. Then I showed her the papers I received from the ER doctor stating I had "Musculo-Skeletal pain" and showed her the two prescriptions the ER doctor prescribed to me. She ordered another set of x-rays.
unless really necessary. Last night I started getting back pain on my left side, I figured it was just the way i was laying. As the night went on it did not go away. This morning its stilll here, It does not go away but its like a sharp pain more when i inhale than exhale?????? any ideas, should i go to doctors or let it ride out?
I later found that for 4 months I had had pneumonia which caused me to cough every night when I would lie down in bed. It was after a spell of coughing that it felt like my stomach split with a sharp pain at the upper center of my stomach. It burned badly & it felt like what I had just drank was going out that place & I could feel it travelling to the right side of my stomach. This feeling has continued ever since.
