Avatar m tn Woke up today noticing pain in my diaphram area when I cough. Pain is limited to instant of coughing. Yes, I am overweight - I think that may have to do with it...but not sure. First time ever experiencing this; 55 y/o, quit smoking 2001. No respiratory symptoms history. Had MRI done a year ago or so - completely normal.
Avatar n tn what causes full head headache - painful pressure - when bending or coughing or having a bowel movement etc? This happened to me a couple of weeks ago, never had it before. My nose is fine (no congestion or apparent sinus problem).
Avatar m tn Hello yes you need to be checked it is possible to break your ribs if coughing is forceful enough. When coughing you can place a pillow up against the abdomen and chest area to help lessen the force the cough places on those areas. You most likely need some antibiotics and possibly a chest x-ray, and breathing treatments to help break the phlegm up so you can get all the infection and mucus out of you body once and for all.

Avatar n tn It's been about two days I am feeling some pain in my left chest when I deeply inhale air, it mildy hurts, im coughing, sometimes I spit yellow sputum when I first wake up in the morning, every time I cough it leaves a weird taste. I refused to go to hospital because of this pandemic and also because I felt this way a few months ago like this time is actually the fifth time I am feeling this and I somewhat knownthat it will be ok in a few days, so.

Avatar f tn This sounds like me, I don’t get periods, have the pain when sneezing or coughing, sometimes laughing too hard or bending in a certain position. I’m 17 and I have PCOS which is polycystic ovarian syndrome, like the earlier answer said it may be ovarian cysts. I had blood work and some ultra sounds done.
Avatar f tn The constant coughing could cause muscle strain and chest pain. Sometimes the pleura, the lining of the chest cavity and lungs can get inflamed causing pain with coughing. Only clinical correlation and other investigations besides X rays can help to narrow down the cause. In the meantime you can take OTC pain medication Ibuprofen. Ensure to take this medication after food to avoid gastritis. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn When I cough I get a sharp pain in the left side of the top of my head. It feels like an extreme headache. Smetimes it goes away after a couple of minutes. Sometimes it stays for a littl bit longer. But it only happens if I am coughing alot. If anyone has any suggestions please let me hear them.
Avatar m tn am just getting over a bad cold or flu - Part of it was a wicked hacking dry cough that hurt badly when coughing. Almost like a bronchitis cough. Its seems to be getting better finally - but yesterday I had one more bad coughing episode during which I actually felt a snap or pop in my right lung/right rib cage area.
492921 tn?1321289896 Oh yes, you get that too. My husband finds my urinating all over myself amusing!! It is so embarrassing though. And it doesn't just happen when I cough. It happens when I sneeze or even laugh!! It's insane...
Avatar m tn When I have a coughing fit, as you do when you accidentally choke on something, I get severe prickly pain on the surface and just under the surface of my breasts. It's not in my chest, but my breasts. I'm 60yo and don't recall this issue when I was younger. A normal cough from a cold does not cause this to happen.
Avatar f tn At the end of the day I can barely turn my head without pain. When it returns to the normal position, I get dizzy and i hear the whooshing sound in my ear. Does standing on your feet all day have an increase symptoms? I am a principal and always pulled here and there.
1891853 tn?1344648442 / ) and when i coughed i got a sharp pain really low in the center, as if i hurt my cervix or something. The pain only lasted a minute but it hurt pretty bad. I didn't experience any bleeding, but is that normal? I was worried i hurt my baby somehow. Im 24 weeks btw. So is this something that just happens or should i be worried?
Avatar f tn I always have awful pain in my back when coughing or sneezing. It drives me nuts! That's why I do everything in my power to stay clear of colds, etc. With me, it has to do with a herniated lumbar disk. Do you have something like that? If not, I wonder if there's something going on in your lungs. I know sometimes the pain in the lungs can feel like its coming from the back. Maybe you should call your Dr and at least tell him the symptoms. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn So tonight I started coughing to the point of throwing up but while I was coughing my arms and chest started to sting/burn. This only last a few moments and was worse when I was coughing. A few hours pass and I sneeze and I get the same burning/stinging sensation. What's is this.
Avatar n tn Pain for me was uncommon, what was common was the discomfort, wheezing, tight cough. I did experience pain after bronchitis or pnemonia with days of coughing, but no pain with asthma, just discomfort. You might have an infection. Don't wait so long to see your physician. There is no need to suffer more than you have to with asthma.
Avatar n tn Any over the counter cough meds do not work. Seems like the only thing that helps this cough is codeine medicine or like percocet pain medicine...in which both is hard to get doctor to give prescription for. Can you help with any suggestions on home remedies that i could try? Please help!
Avatar m tn You are fine. When a person is coughing hard and for a long period of time there is a chance that they could pull a muscle in there chest. That is what it sounds like has happened.
Avatar n tn Hello gkoshland, Does the pain increase while coughing? Or sneezing? Has pain be controlled ever during any point of time? The pain due to hernia would also increase with the bent posture. Answers to these questions would further help.
