Avatar m tn * When to Seek Medical Care A doctor should be seen after any symptoms of chest pain are experienced, because of the possibility of other equally or more serious causes of chest pain. After blunt trauma to the chest, such as a fall on the ribs, a doctor should be seen if you have any shortness of breath or pain associated with breathing.
Avatar n tn I often sneeze and get alot of pain in my body. They can be from my groin area to my chest and neck areas like maybe from the huge release of pressure when I sneeze. Is this abnormal. Addtionally, I have a pain in my chest occasionally towards the left side directly adjacent to my breast bone in the middle. I was a chronic drinker and just quit drinking. Do I have problems. I have no family doctor.
Avatar n tn I have had the same pain in my chest and arms, but mine didnt come when I was ill. I was also wondering the same thing if it is serious or not? It is mostly my arms that hurt. I have had this for over 2 years now.
Avatar n tn The chest pain seems musculature because it gets worse when I sneeze or move quickly to the left. I have also experienced back pain similar to the one I get when I have severe heartburn. Is this something I should be concerned with?
Avatar n tn I am pretty sure that it is just the muscles, sometimes it only hurts when I sneeze and other times the pain lingers. Usually the pain only lasts a couple of hours or or I don't really notice it until I sneeze again but sometimes I notice that my chest is sore and I haven't sneezed in like a day...does anyone know what this is, if anything at all? and if I have to just put up with having pain everytime I sneeze?
Avatar f tn I had a pain in my left chest area, either caused by pulling something or gas, so when it came to sneezing or yawn, I would try to stop it. Now that the pain is gone, I get the sensation of a sneeze or yawn, but I cannot. Why can't I?
Avatar n tn I am a 21 year old male, and I seem to have injured myself while at the gym while lying on a flat bench, and pressing a dumbbell from behind my head to over my chest. I felt a distinct "pop" and now I have pain when breathing in or out deeply, or putting any pressure on the left side of my chest directly or indirectly. This same "pop" happens when I sneeze, or throw something hard. This has persisted for over two months now.
Avatar n tn For the past week or two I have been having chronic pain in my chest. It is at the top part of my sternum. It gets worse when I cough, sneeze, or if I stretch or move my right arm towards the left side of my body. I would like to know what these symptoms lead to or what these symptoms are of. If anyone has any answers for me that may be helpful, I would greatly appreciate it.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been suffering now for almost two weeks with chest pain on left hand side. I am generally very healthy. I do body pump and body combat classes regularly. The last time I did a pump class I didn't feel anything pull, but the morning after I could not sit up in bed for the pain. I went to my GP who ruled out any lung or heart problems and just advised pain killers and to stop weight lifting for 2 weeks. It's very difficult to use ice packs as pain is directly under my left breast.
Avatar f tn I had a URI (upper respiratory infection), was put on antibiotics, got better for awhile, but then it all came back with dizziness, shortness of breath, some pain in my chest and lungs when I took a deep breath and some chest pain, plus I was literally drained, totally exhausted! Avatar m tn I get the sensation to sneeze but that goes away quickly and brings in discomfort. When I am unable to sneeze, I get heaviness in my chest and an distressing feeling of pain and discomfort which goes down from my neck to the spine below. The other symtoms I am experiencing are: 1. Constant left eye twitching 2. Watering of the left eye (lacrimation) 3. Feeling of nausea 4. Brain fog 5. General body ache and joint pain. Has anyone ever experienced these symptoms before ?
Avatar m tn Today I joined this web site to try to get some help for this pain i'm having in my chest area. It isn't like anything I've felt before it is kind of scary. Do I have something serious or could it be from menopause? I couldn't sleep last night for more than a few short naps. I cn't thonk of anything I did to cause it but it feels like someone hit me. The pain is right in the middle of my breastbone and it sure hurts, especially when I bend down or burp or sneeze. What could it be?
Avatar f tn The constant coughing could cause muscle strain and chest pain. Sometimes the pleura, the lining of the chest cavity and lungs can get inflamed causing pain with coughing. Only clinical correlation and other investigations besides X rays can help to narrow down the cause. In the meantime you can take OTC pain medication Ibuprofen. Ensure to take this medication after food to avoid gastritis. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Kindly email me at neil991 (at) gmail (dot) com.... I will appreciate it. My inability to sneeze started after a physical injury on my neck when I did a back flip in the swimming pool last month. Apparently many people are going through this matter since years and are in good health. But just in case, if you have any information, please let me know.
Avatar f tn I was convinced I was dying of some awful disease. I had chest xrays, EKG, the works. All normal. The cough lasted months but it DID GO AWAY. When you take opiates for a long time, it suppresses your cough reflex. When you stop, that reflex "wakes up" and dam.n. it takes its own sweet time going away. I really sympathize with what you're going through. Have faith it WILL get better.
Avatar f tn I am 29 year old female and this morning i woke up with chest pain. When i breathe in deeply, cough, and sneeze my chest hurts. I have never had this happen to me before, can someone please help me figure out what this pain is?
Avatar f tn But now that pain is completely and 100% gone. But now I am unable to sneeze after this incident. I get the sensation but no follow up automatic reflex. I feel in perfect health ... I'm 29years old. Just this inability to sneeze is bugging me. Read somewhere that it could be a damaged nerve which can take a long time to heal....and asked to eat super foods like Rasberries, blue berries, carrots and drink green tea with ginger as they help in nerve repair.
Avatar m tn I have tackacardia, cornary stint, highblood pressure. When i sneeze i suffer from chest pain, pain down both my arms, neck, and jaw. It almost makes me sick to my stomack. Avatar n tn I get a very intense pain in my chest and down both arms when I sneeze. I did find some responses on Google that may help... you might have to copy and paste into your browser: One response by a doctor in there reads: "the symptoms highly suggest pressure on nerves leaving the spinal cord in the neck: at your age, most likely a bulging disc in the vertebrae.
Avatar f tn It can cause those stabbing pains you describe, esp. when you sneeze or cough.
