Avatar f tn And sat for awhile. Every time a breathed it was a sharp pain. Hours later, the pain was more in the sides. Now I feel it in the front of my chest. Went to hospital. They did blood test, chest X-ray, EEG, and urine. Everything came back clear but my urine had high glucose/but no high glucose in blood. They said it is pleurisy. But read up on it more...I'm confused because most pleurisy if cause from being sick. I'm not nor haven't been. They gave me 3 shots.

Avatar f tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required.
Avatar m tn Hello my name is jordan and im 15 and im just here to tell you that any time i take a "deep" breath i get a pain in the middle of my chest yet it feels like its in my back. I play basketball and after i got done running i could hardley breath and the pain was defiently there. Do you have any idea what this could be??
Avatar m tn 1) of musculoskeletal origin, such as fractured ribs or sternum, torn cartilage, torn or badly stretched intercostal ligaments; or 2) the result of blunt chest trauma, often seemingly not serious at the time of occurrence. Your pain doesn’t suggest musculoskeletal disease. I hope not to frighten you but there is a possibility that your pain could be due to serious disease of your heart or of the great vessels that enter and leave the heart, most notably the aorta.

Avatar f tn Hi, my name is Fadwa and I am 17 years old. I woke up today feeling sharp pain in my chest/lung area and up through my throat. I am having a lot of trouble breathing in and feel like its an infection somewhere but I can't pinpoint where because it hurts throughout my chest and into my throat. It doesn't hurt when I cough or when I'm in an upright sitting position but it hurts a lot when I lay down probably because of gravity.
Avatar n tn Other possibilities is pericarditis and that is inflammation in the area of the space between the heart and the surrounding sac. A respiratory problem can cause pain when breathing due to blood clots in the pulmonary vessel and or the lungs....that condition causes chest pain. Nevertheless, Emily is correct, and hopefully the information provides an insight that will enable you to discuss the issues in consultation with your doctor.
Avatar f tn This sounds more like a muscular pain, or even pulmonary in nature. Doesn't sound like cardiac pain, as chest pain from the heart wouldn't be any different with deep breaths. I used to have a big problem with pleurisy. But with pleurisy I could feel the pain when I would bend over, and the pain is felt with breathing. You say you don't have it at night and for me when I had pleurisy certain sleep positions made the pain worse.
Avatar n tn I sometimes do experience left shoulder pain along with chest pressure. Sometimes, I feel deep burning like pain in the middle of the chest, but it feels different than heartburn. Sometimes, I just experience discomforting pressure in my chest, all over. What could be causing this? I do not cough.
Avatar n tn Given that your symptom is of recent onset, it would be wise for your doctor to conduct a careful examination of your heart and chest, order an EKG, a simple breathing test called spirometry and a chest x-ray to reassure you that your chest, even with a slight depression of the breast bone, is fine. The two of you might want to talk about any anxiety or worries that you might have and consider the prescription of an anti-anxiety medicine. Good luck.
686899 tn?1227042183 It is usually when I breath deeply, but sometimes even when I am breathing regularly. It feels very deep in my chest and is pretty consistent. Sometimes at night, my fiance says it feels like I am not breathing at all. I have had a sleep study done and it told me that my heart and lungs were being surpressed, but there were no reasons as to why.
1058304 tn?1257042315 I hate to jump to conclusions but I dont want to sit around and have a heart attack. I have searched and all is about chest pain I wouldnt call it pain. But is annoying and is in chest and neck area.
Avatar n tn Any nausea, sweating, breathing difficulty, is it worse when you lie down, is it made worse with deep breathing or exercise (ie walking). It is likely simple heart burn, but depending on your history, symptoms and clinical presentation, your doctor may want to follow up with more tests. I would just make an appoinment with your doctor so you won't worry about this. Let him be the one to make to make the call as to what is really going on. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn I know this stuff happens can happen at random but when it seems that when it happens like this my chest pain is worst or at least more bothersome than other times so I wanted to know anyone else felt the same and could tell me about their experiences.
Avatar f tn In late May I had a horrible, sharp pain in my upper right chest. I thought I had pulled something. The following day the pain was suddenly under my rib cage, on the bottom right side. It felt like some sort of lung spasm, and my right lung would inhale/exhale on its own, without me actually taking a breath. The pain kept getting worse. I went to the doctor two days later and he thought it was my gallbladder. At this point I couldn't lay on my back at all.

Avatar m tn I've been having random breathing problems. I suddenly feel as if I'm not getting enough air, but I know I'm still breathing. I also feel a sudden pain in my chest. I'm thirteen years old, and my parents don't know what it is. Could someone please help?
Avatar n tn I have a heart pain when i breath deep and when i breathing normal i I have some discomfort . My mom has a heart disease . What can i have??
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 23 year old female. Physically healthy, except for the odd bug going around. For the last month or so, I randomly get a pain in my chest. It's like someone is reaching in and squeezing it so I can't breath. There is no consistency to when it happens, although I've mainly noticed it when bending over to get something. The pain only lasts for a second or two, so I'm not overly anxious about it, but maybe others have felt the same?! Thanks!
