Avatar m tn I have been having stiffness/weakness in my upper arms for about a year now. It comes and goes, changing sometimes in the course of the day. The only findings a year ago were high thyroid antibodies (but normal thyroid function), low vitamin D and fluctuating cortisol levels. My upper arms particularly are bad, but sometimes I have a general stiffness/crampiness in my calves. I generally do not feel well. Is there any explanation for this?
Avatar f tn I also notice that I have a painful tugging feeling when I try to look down in the same area of my upper back. Last night in my sleep I woke up with a chest pain right in my breastbone area. It felt like a heavy burning tingling burning pain. I just rolled over onto my chest with my arms tucked in under my chest and waited it for it to pass. This morning when I woke up I felt very tired and my muscles in my arms felt weak. Anyone that can help me with this?
Avatar m tn About 8 weeks ago I started to wake up after an hour or two with pain in my chest, arms, shoulders and neck. Saw a cardiologist for the chest pain and heart/lung problem was ruled out. By 5 AM onward, the pain begins to fade and is gone by the time I get up. There is no relief with changing positions, Tylenol, Advil, but getting up and walking around or sitting straight up helps. Sometimes I try Yoga stretches and that helps but when I lay down it comes back.
Avatar m tn I'm having major pains in my upper, center part of my chest hurts to push off anything.. really to use my arms at first i thought maybe a muscle strain but its deeper then that! like a broke bone.
Avatar f tn have u had an endoscopy done to see if you have gastritis? Sounds a lot like it... I suffer from it... Wine can be a common trigger for some people. It is different for everyone. Everyone should keep a diary of what works and what doesn't in their specific case.
Avatar m tn For 5 years I have suffered with Chest pain that radiates into my back and down both arms during excertion. I have had stress test, heart cathorization, throat and stomach scoped. I've been tested to see if I am having spasms in my esophagus. I went to an orthopedic doctor who performed an mri of my neck and upper back. I did have two disc buldges in my neck but he said that would not cause the pain. The pain stops when I stop the excertion.
Avatar f tn I am in so much pain in my upper arms and can't stand the pain. From my elbow to my shoulder. When i lift my arm it hurts alot....
1210142 tn?1266077031 Two stents were placed there, 3 months later were 99% blocked and I ended up with another one placed inside those two. Since then I have been expirienced a lot of pain in both of my arms/mostly the upper part/. The pain moves to my shoulders, upper back and sometimes in the middle of the chest, but mostly is located in the arms. My cardiologist is certain that it is not cardiac related- ANY IDEA what this could be? Has someone expirienced something similar. Thank you in advance for your help.
Avatar f tn liver pain and gall bladder pain can radiate through abdomen, back, chest, shoulders arms & neck. ALWAYS get checked out.
Avatar m tn Mostly the pain is in the left upper abdomen. nowadays i can feel the pain around the chest. I did urea breathe test to check for bacteria and there is no bacteria now but still i feel the pain in left upper abdomen which also radiates around my chest. The doctor said that the gastric is still there which is giving this pain. But the pain is continuous. I dont feel the pain only when i lie down flat. I also dont have any prblm while sleeping.
Avatar f tn It just freaks me out and makes me think I am going to have a heart attack or Stroke. When the chest pain occurs i can also feel the pain in my back area. It seems like my arms always seem to have a "discomfort" feeling along with a numbness that doesn't seem to go away. But it's always just one side at a time. I guess I just need some reassurance that I am not having a heart attack or nothing of that sort. I will say that my anxiety is BAD and my stress level.
Avatar f tn Rhonda, I have to agree with everyone that has posted. Please see a GI specialist. I've had my gallbladder removed which caused horrible pain in my chest and my throat and just recently I've had a lot of chest discomfort and pain in my belly and they did a scope and found out that I have a hernia. With your symptoms that you're having it would definitely be a good thing for them to look at you. Best of luck and I hope they figure it out soon!
Avatar f tn Hello, I was recently in hospital for initiation of new drugs for my inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The drugs (Ivabradine and Nebivolol) were successful while I was in hospital but since coming home I've been having complications.
Avatar f tn Ive had chest pain on and off radiating sometimes to both upper arms. also shortness of breath at times and fatigue. also some flu like symptoms. when I rest I get much better. but it doesn't go away completely and in the last few days it has been worse than ever. I woke up with heartburn which is strange because I never get indigestion. I am not sleeping well which is also unusual. I have normal blood pressure and I am not overweight. My total cholesterol is in the low 200s.
906759 tn?1275957620 That has progressed into pain in arms and hands, with very little tingling. This comes and goes. My neck, upper back, shoulders are also stiff and painful at times. I still have chest pains and upper abdomen pains. Also have had short infrequent headaches for the past two weeks. Now for the last couple of days my throat has been sore. I have been refered to a pysical therapist and he is suspecting some herniated disks. I am at the very least frustrated with this.
212633 tn?1277307127 In the minds of many people, chest pain equals heart pain. And while many other conditions can cause chest pain, cardiac disease is so common – and so dangerous – that the symptom of chest pain should never be dismissed out of hand as being insignificant. “Chest pain” is an imprecise term. It is often used to describe any pain, pressure, squeezing, choking, numbness or any other discomfort in the chest, neck, or upper abdomen, and is often associated with pain in the jaw, head, or arms.

Avatar n tn Hi.. I also have the same feelings of bruised upper arms, chest, back & neck the day or two after I drink alcohol. I know you said avoiding alcohol is the main treatment, but is it ok to drink alcohol occasionally? Are there any long term effects from this acute alcoholic myopathy?? Is it ok to drink one or 2 drinks?? Ive never had any other health problems & I get regular physicals where everything has seemed to be fine. Is there anything else I should know about this myopathy??
Avatar n tn there is no pain as long as i keep still but as soon as i make a movement with my arms or try to turn my upper body , i get gripping pains in the way i described. I have no other symptoms other than very loose stools which has been going on for some time and become noticable and a bit unusually tired quite early in the day. the pains tend to shoot from my right side and up my back. Could it be muscular or otherwise? Breathing shallow or deep does not produce the pains.
Avatar n tn About 6 months ago I started having pain in my upper arms and across the back of my neck and shoulders. It was like a really bad stiff neck. Approx. 3 months ago the same type pain has occurred in my upper legs as well. In both areas, I am experiencing muscle weakness. If I try to lift or pick up something over my head, it is very difficult. After sitting or sleeping, the pain and stiffness is very bad. After walking the pain and stiffness decrease. I am a 55 year old female.
Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago I got some left sided chest pain. It radiated down my left and right arms and especially radiated to my upper left back. It hasnt gotten worse, but hasnt gotten much better. Some days I dont have the pain at all. Some days I have the pain intermittently, some days I have the pain all day. It also hurts my left upper chest when I take a deep breath and my heart hurts when my stomach acid regurgitates.
Avatar m tn OK so for years I have been having pain in my mid sternum-pins and needles down my arms-I get very short of breath-so I got chest xrays that were negative last one was last may-my primary listens to my lungs and does not seem to think this is it-he said I would have been dead by now-but now the last 2 weeks my fingers on both sides are numb-no discoloration-and it seems like the pain in through to my back upper back-also shoots to by right side at times-also now it seems as though the top of my
Avatar m tn Well after a year and a half, and a few posts on this forum, i still have no closure. Still have left and center chest pain, not upon movement and not upon exertion. The pain is like a quick jab, about a 7 on the scale. Sometimes these jabs come in a series of 4 or five in a row. Lasts less than a minute total. I also get left arm pain, left shoulder pain, and left jaw pain. Sometimes at the same time, sometimes just shoulder and left arm pain but no chest pain.
Avatar m tn One can not rule out a chest-pain heart event, but the pain can be the result uncontrolled contraction of the chest muscle. It can produce intense pain and muscle cramps can develop in any muscle in the body although they most often occur in the calf or foot. Muscle cramps usually happen while lying in bed or playing sports or exercising. Overuse, injury, muscle strain, or staying in the same position for a long time can produce cramping.
Avatar n tn They find nothing. Well 6 months later I feel horrible. Pain in neck and under arms and chest and upper back. And the thing on my jaw bone. I also went to dentist to rule out that. I’m very tired and very worried it’s lymphoma. I am waiting on blood work as of now. I just think it’s lymphoma from this thing on my jaw line. I don’t even know if the ct scan looked that high up on my jaw line. The fatigue is the worst. The pains in arms and upper back are not muscle pains.
