For the past week there has been this flaming pain on the right side of my back between my spine & shoulder blade. It hurts to make sudden moves or breath in deeply. I'm only 21 years of age. & I'm scared.
Avatar n tn I have mild back pain mostly on the left side but it does go across the mid back when taking a deep breath. The pain the worse when my lungs are fully expanded. i have been experiencing increased burping and have some tightness in the upper chest area. I do experience panic attacks, but control with medication upon need.
Avatar n tn also sometimes when i breath heavy or take a deep breath..the pain is anywhere from right below my rib cage to the shoulder blade on my left side back!! Im only 17 and i had went to the dr and i had UTI took all my meds but im still having the problem..I sleep only on my left side so i thought it could be sleeping on it wrong..or just the anxiety that i suffer from..or maybe nerves considering i have been under alot of stress.. Avatar f tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain and referred pain to left shoulder. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Chances are that you could be having gastro esophageal reflux (GERD), where the food in your stomach is thrown up into your food pipe or esophagus. This also causes burning sensation or discomfort in the chest area.
Avatar n tn I know exactly what heart burn and thinking you're having a heart attack feels like. This chest pain started about 3 pm yesterday. I can't take a deep breath without pain. I can't lay down without extreme chest pain. If I get up and sit back down my jaw and face have extreme pain. I also have a headache and my chest has a deep ache with every heartbeat. My upper back has pain and I have'nt lifted anything heavy. I took aspirin but hasn't helped. What do you make of this?

1218873 tn?1300091216 I also have periods of weeks or months with inflammation in my intercostal muscles which can cause pain in my central chest both back and front. I also have RA so this can cause some problems. I have tried to find information on the subject of breathing issues and MS previously and I know there are people out there experiencing the issues but I am yet to see much on the MS Society pages about this. I guess just knowing your not alone is of some comfort sometimes.
Avatar m tn For the past 3 and a half weeks. I have had pain in my back that getting progressively worse. It's difficult for me to sleep, I cannot lie on my back or left side without bein gin excruiating pain. The pain is also in my chest at times. I can'y walk but a few feet outside before feeling short of breath. I have asthma but I know this is something more. Scared becasue I don't know what's wrong with me. Avatar m tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. However all these conditions cause other symptoms too like fever, cough, breathlessness etc. Hope this helps. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required.
Avatar f tn After I have been sleeping for the night and I wake up, I have chest pain in my sternum area. It hurts when I move my arms to stretch my chest. It hurts when I breath deep breaths. This happens every morning when I wake up. Should I be worried? Is this common? Any possible explanations?

Avatar f tn I was thinking maybe if you could take deep breaths while in different positions maybe this could tell you something?

Avatar n tn But anyway it suddenly disappeared but them came shortness of breath and severe upper back and mid back pain while moving or breathing as well as this im feeling extremly tired and run down and at times dizzy and have loss of appetite.. Any suggestions as to what it could be???
Avatar f tn I have pain in my left arm and shoulder with numbness, and pain in my right arm. The chest pain is still the same. I have pain in my jaw, back, neck, and upper ribs. I also get tingling in my fingers on my right hand. I don't know if these are signs of a heart attack or the symptoms of what my doctor still thinks it is Costochondritis?
Avatar f tn However, when there is chest pain when taking a deep breath can be due to costochondritis....pulled muscle in the chest wall, inflammation of cartilage of chest wall, good be irritation of lung lining, etc. other pulomonary issues. You may want to get physical evaluation, as a heart problem can't be ruled out, and/or pulmonary malady.
Avatar f tn I have been having a bad pain in the right upper part of my chest when I rub it it hurts all the way to the bone. It doesn't move I feel like I'm short of breath or gonna pass out. I have tried muscle rub and relaxers but no relief. Bending over and taking deep breaths makes it hurt worse. It's not a constant pain either. I have severe anxiety so I always think the worse.
Avatar f tn The inflammation around the joint area gives sharp pain on taking a breath. This can also cause tenderness on pressing the area which pains. An orthopedic doctor can diagnose this for you. Generally there is no cause. However it can be due to infection, blow, injury, or fibromyalgia. It usually goes away on its own. Otherwise it can be treated with muscle relaxants, and non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
Avatar f tn If your cardiologist can not find organic causes for the chest pain, one possible cause of chest pain is the referred pain from myofascial trigger point of scalene muscles.Seeing a health professional who is familiar with myofascial trigger pont pathology is advised.
Avatar n tn I am 20 years old, weigh 125. I have been having random chest pain and when it starts hurting , it hurts to take a deep breath. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does it is really distracting.
