Avatar f tn BP chief executive Tony Hayward took a day off Saturday to see his 52-foot yacht "Bob" compete in a glitzy race off England's shore, a leisure trip that further infuriated residents of the oil-stained Gulf Coast. While Hayward's pricey ship whipped around the Isle of Wight on a good day for sailing — breezy and about 68 degrees — anger simmered on the steamy Gulf Coast, where crude has been washing in from the still-gushing spill. "Man, that ain't right.

880023 tn?1241744504 I mostly completed my shopping list for the baby, except the travel system. I was wondering, if it worth waiting for the Thanksgiving sale to get it. I never really paid attention if they ever have anything like that on sale for Thanksgiving, but would assume stores like babiesrus would offer some sale. Anyone had experience with it?
Avatar n tn Thanks for your comments. We decided to put in the pacemaker and she will go to rehab later this week. I am feeling hopeful.
Avatar f tn You say you did not pass out from any of the more recent episodes even though you had a long pause? A pacemaker is a big deal for sure but your heart stopping is also a big deal. When it stops blood is not getting to your brain and oxygen depravation can lead to memory loss and loss of overall brain function. How are you tolerating the pauses that aren't causing you to pass out? You do have to keep in mind that if you pass out while driving you may injure yourself or others.
Avatar f tn The pacemaker itself should not be a deterent from having an ablation. I've had a pacemaker for 6 years (because of an ablation actually), and then had another ablation about a year ago. Unfortunately, the ablations don't work for me, but I have IST, not SVT so hopefully they're more effective for that.
Avatar n tn This seems like a very difficult situation for you and your family. The best way to begin addressing this question is to ask your cardiologist whether your mother is "pacemaker dependent" or not. Pacemaker dependent means that the heart is reliant on the pacemaker, and without it, the heart cannot pump fast enough to meet the demands of the body. (There are others who need the pacemaker infrequently as a "back-up", for the rare times when the heart rate slows down).
Avatar n tn I am a 30 yr old mother of 3 with a pacemaker. I have had the pacemaker for 3 years in July. It was originally placed because of a severe problem with fainting. My heart was stopping for nearly 50 seconds(documented) during these syncope episodes. The pacemaker has basically cured this problem. At my last visit they said it was working 25% of the time. Whatever that means. But now the pacemaker unit has shifted for the second time.

In Santa Ana, California, and some other cities, nonviolent offenders can pay for a clean, quiet jail cell, without any non-paying prisoners to disturb them. • Access to the carpool lane while driving solo: $8. Minneapolis, San Diego, Houston, Seattle, and other cities have sought to ease traffic congestion by letting solo drivers pay to drive in carpool lanes, at rates that vary according to traffic.

6644456 tn?1383330685 Hi, a pacemaker is usually advised if the rate and rhythm of AF cannot be controlled with medications. For implanting a pacemaker, you may need ablation of the AV node. And you have added problems of coronary artery blockages. If the blood thinning is not adequate with aspirin and plavix, you will need warfarin to prevent complications like stroke. Its best to try conservative methods first. Regards.
Avatar f tn Hi. I had a pacemaker implanted in August of 2008 due to lower heart rate/dizziness. I am now using it less than 1% of the time. I have experienced very seldom PVCs in the past. However, the last two weeks, they have been increasing to having them almost every 30 seconds and last for hours at a time. I went to my cardio doctor and he put me on a 14 days event monitor.
Avatar f tn BP chief executive Tony Hayward, often criticized for being tone-deaf to U.S. concerns about the worst oil spill in American history, took time off Saturday to attend a glitzy yacht race off England's Isle of Wight. Spokeswoman Sheila Williams said Hayward took a break from overseeing BP efforts to stem the undersea gusher in Gulf of Mexico to watch his boat "Bob" participate in the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race.
Avatar n tn I do not have a pacemaker, but it has been discussed as an option for me in the past. Do you have NCS? Is your specialist considering a pacemaker to help control your symptoms? Depending upon the exact mechanism of the patients symptoms, a pacemaker may help to eliminate some fainting episodes. Though, I wouldn't expect it to eliminate all symptoms. It could, but it won't necessarily because the patients blood pressure could still crash. Dysautonomia Specialists: http://www.
Avatar m tn s ventricle that acts as an extra pacemaker and that can cause a change in the sequence of our normal pacemaker (sinus node). The activity of the extra pacemaker may be increased by different factors like stress, hormones and medications. Now why can we feel these extra beats? Just because the strength of every heart beat depends on the amount of blood that fill the heart before the next contraction.

Avatar n tn I'm curious. If you're having a pacemaker, how do you know there is an A-Fib? Do your pacemaker senses if A-Fib then it'll pace it out? Isn't it during A-Fib, the EKG will show "paced rhythm"? Why the ER doc told me, they can't tell what rhythm that I got during pacing. All he can tell "Paced rhythm"! Do you have 2 leads pacemaker or 1 lead pacemaker? Sorry for asking that, I want to learn my condition.
