Avatar n tn x-ray shows 7mm nodular versus nipple shadow versus superimpostion of shadows at the left lung base. Is this anything 2 be concerned about?
Avatar f tn d love to have the question answered that it is likely gas in the X-part of colon or X part of my system and that this is common or less common, etc.?
Avatar f tn i had my one week check up yesterday and it looks as though one of the leads has moved. they did an x ray which shows the same as the x ray taken at the hospital the day after the pacemaker was put in. but i go back in 2 weeks to do the test again as they say the ex ray does not pick up micro changes. my question is. is this normal? and my dr. if so adamet about me not lifting my arm above my head after surgery for 2 weeks. but the ex ray tech.
Avatar m tn Foolishly and naively i accepted to have another Panoramic X-ray for my teeth( i think that he asked me to do another X-ray because he lost or didn't save the original image on his computer). So now that you read my worry, am i going crazy here to worry about it and am i exaggerating?? Are there any side-effects? Please i want an answer cause am a person who is stressed all the time.
Avatar m tn Was the panoramic machine a digital x-ray or a traditional film x-ray? I'm going to assume it was digital since he just recently installed it. The older film x-rays tend to require more radiation than the newer digital x-ray systems. I will have to look up the exact radiation dosage for the panoramic x-ray but I believe its equivalent to taking 4 of the smaller regular x-rays. A regular digital x-ray is equivalent to about 5-10 mins in the sunlight.
Avatar n tn He went for a checkup recently (not his regular cardiologist) and had a chest x-ray done. Results showed some fluid. He was told to double up on his Lasix. What could be causing this fluid build up and is it safe to increase Lasix? My concern is that he saw his regular cardiologist approx 1 month ago. He told my Dad that he did hear a "girgle" when he listened with his stethascope, but never recommended that he increase his Lasix and didn't recommend a chest x-ray.
Avatar n tn Has he had a chest x-ray to rule out fluid in the lungs? Coughing most of the time is associated with fluid in the lungs due to heart failure. It can also be associated with ace inhibitors.
Avatar f tn The x-ray showed nothing out of the ordinary, whereas the CT showrd a huge 14mm stone in my left kidney urerter. The x-ray today shows nothing just like the last x-ray so why waste my husband taking time off work, unpaid, to take an image which isn't going to show anything anyway????????????????
Avatar n tn The answer is "yes", with qualifications. Every x-ray causes tissue damage and danger. That being said the x-ray represented a quantum leap in medicine. Before the x-ray thousand of people died because a physician could not look inside and make a diagnosis. Having an x-ray taken represents a risk-benefit situation. Most times taking the x-ray to diagnose a potentially life-threatening problem outweighs the additional risk of a malignancy.

Avatar m tn s Fracture, which demonstrates reduction in joint space between C1 and C2 articular process, displacement of Lateral masses of C1 fracture of atlas which needs to be evaluated on lateral X-ray of cervical spine and also with CT with coronal reconstruction in multi planar or multi axial view would confirm the extent of the fracture. Neurological deficit must be assessed and see what is extension of injury. Have a CT scan done and reevaluate to correlate clinically.
Avatar f tn Nerve damage can not be identified by x-Ray or image studies.however, peripheral or central nerve dysfunction can be suspected by clinical exam or tests.
948996 tn?1245949077 My grandma is 87 years old, she recently had a heart attack and she has a pacemaker in... before she had her heart attack she broke both her ankles and when she went for an x-ray the doctor also told her he wanted to replace her pacemaker it had been 5-6 years but it wouldnt be for awhile, wait to replace it because he didnt want to cut her back open with her weight only being 80lbs....now when she had the heart attack and went to the hospital the doctor replaced the pacemaker....
Avatar m tn Husband had "widow maker" heart attack 6 yrs ago. Annual physical chest x-Ray showed "There is tortuosity thoracic aorta & increased prominence of the aortic arch region which could be due to vascular dilatation or possibility of mass cannot be excluded." Chest CT recommended. Can anyone put this in layman' terms?

Avatar f tn Orthopedic doctor did not see anything in the hip X-rays, but did extensive back X-Rays in his office. He showed me a large spot on the X-Ray that was completely whited out. He pointed out the spine and next to the spine was the aorta artery where the large spot was completely white? He stated that it is definitely a vascular issue. I have had people inform me that he would not be able to tell by a standard x-ray that there is any sort of blockage issue?
Avatar f tn I have a dental appointment tomorrow and I know they may try to give me an x-ray. I'm 16 weeks now and this is my first pregnancy. I went to the dentist earlier this year and they didn't want to do an x-ray because I was in my 1st trimester. Is it really safe to have one done now?
Avatar n tn I have a daughter who doesn't live with me and she has lice will it show up in an x-ray
