Pacemaker treadmill

Common Questions and Answers about Pacemaker treadmill

pacemaker

Avatar f tn My v-tach started after he took me off the treadmill. My first EP said exercise on treadmill should be decreased... very... slowly if I do it at home. Of course, he doesn't want me to walk too fast. Ya think!! I guess I am beating my head against a wall. I can't get my mind off it. I don't know why the doctor stopped it because of couplets.
Avatar f tn Do you have a pacemaker? The best is to check with your doctor or pacemaker technician. I don't know what can it cause the heart functioning abnormality if you have the inverted T waves? Anyone knows? It also depends if you're a pacemaker dependent or not. I'm not a pacemaker depend. I go well with the equipment which marks "Pacemaker user caution". If I found my heart beats abnormally, then I stop using it and try again after the heart settle.
Avatar f tn Thank yu so much for answering,, i know what u mean,, i'm so sick of having to TRY all the time,, even try to talk and walk.. ugh! Doctors all said i have to get a pacemaker,, all except one,, he said i can still live the way i do and we'll install a pacemaker once i'm married.. but that was before these results came in.. im seeing him in a week again =) how about yu though? what solves yur problem ??
Avatar f tn I HAVE A PACEMAKER SINCE ABOUT JUNE OF 1998 OR 1999. I HAVE HAD SOME PROBLEMS OFF AND ON OVER THE YEARS EVEN SINCE I HAD IT PUT IN WITH FATIQUE AND SHORTNESS OF BREATH. LAST AUGUST I HAD A PACEMAKER CHECK AND MY CARDIOLOGIST HAD SOMEONE CALL AND TELL ME TO COME DOWN TO HAVE IT CHECKED AT THE OFFICE. APPARENTLY SOMETHING SHOWED IN THE PHONE CHECK THAT WAS NOT QUITE RIGHT. I WENT AND THE TECHNICIAN FROM ST JUDE'S ADJUSTED IT.
Avatar m tn The 2nd EP and he says does the cardio side as well said pretty much the same thing. Where i stand The pacemaker/defib is what they would place in me. to get the heart to pump at the same time and if ever needed the defib is a incase for the worst. I have been feeling better about it still worried but not like i have been. I did My treadmill walk today at 3.
Avatar m tn Are you saying the pacemaker is not pacing properly when rates go over 100? That sounds like a problem with the pacemaker then.
Avatar f tn I worked out 5 hours per day and was in great shape but could never tolerate running or any activity requiring endurance because my heart rate got to high. (HR of 202 at 2 minutes on m my treadmill stress echo) When I was pregnant with my daughter I wore my first holter which showed at rest, sinus tach at 143bpm on average. I had a sinus node modification ablation for IST in January of 2007, and afterward I felt fantastic for about 3 weeks. Then it came back.
Avatar n tn I had slow heartbeat and when I was eight and in 1994 they implanted a permanent minuet pacemaker. I have the same pacemaker today (I'm currently 21 and about to be 22, female). I had to change from a children's doctor to another medical center because of my age. So, where I am now is relatively new. My old physician told me that my heart was slightly enlarged. Recently, they found a blood clot on one of my leads in my right atrium and have put me on Coumadin.
Avatar f tn I have also had a dual chamber pacemaker implanted. Several years ago I had a stress chemical induced test and ran into problems on the treadmill. Went directly to cath lab for stents but did not have a heart attack. I must say that the heart attack frightened me quite a bit and then the treadmill episode added to my fears. My cardiologist wants to do another stress test next month and I am terrified. I already have been down two bad roads and do not want to go again.
967168 tn?1477584489 I am not entirely famiiar with the technology of a pacemaker-mediated tachycardia but it can be defined as any condition in which a pacemaker paces the ventricles at rates that are fast walking, shopping, etc. and should not envoke a rate response unless there is a medical problem. Or it can be a rate response setting that is too sensitive, or some outside interference to the elcetrical mechanism, etc. It may be a good idea to have the unit checked and reprogrammed if necessary.
Avatar m tn Will a pacemaker completely eliminate death as a result of a SA attack? I realize that the pacemaker itself is a fairly simple procedure, however, as I am only 38, I will definitely need replacement leads over time, and the risk factor of lead removal surgery has me quite frightened. Most of the data available for CCHB is either old or hard to find. It seems that pacing is suggested in nearly every case especially with increasing age.
Avatar f tn I was in sinus rhythm for 3 days after my ablation, and began walking on the treadmill on the 4th day. That afternoon I began feeling out of sync heart beats and my heart rate was irregular. I've been in and out ever since. My BP runs low, 85/60 into the 50's. When my heart rate jumping into the high 80s or 90's, and my chest pounds, I get so upset worrying that the ablation hasn't cured my atrial flutter. My heart issues are from chemo from breast cancer in 2006.
Avatar m tn I've been having these shooting arm pains and aches for the past month and my PVC's have been getting worse the past 2 days, and a couple nights ago my PVC's started up and after they were done I got this pulsating pain in my right armpit, i've had a stress echo and everything was normal except my high heart rate. I'm getting worried now about the arm pain, especially since it has happend twice after my PVC's got real bad. 1.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a question about something my doctors can seem to answer. When I exert myself hard, like sudden stair climbing for at least a couple flights, I develop pain in my lower jaw (both sides), tight chest and a blood-like taste in my mouth, though I can't see any blood. I stop my activity and those symptoms are gone within a few minutes, but then get a productive cough that lingers for some time.
Avatar f tn 8 years ago I had a stress test with chemicals and ran into problems on treadmill. That day I was stented but doctor assured me it was not the chemical that caused the problem and was not a heart attack. I now have a pacemaker. They want me to do another nuclear stress test and after all I have read about the dangers of the nuclear stress test ie. heart attacks I am absolutely frozen with fear to do another one.
Avatar m tn The fainting/racing heart episodes did not co-incide with the low heart rate at all, her heart was normal during the documented fainting/racing heart episodes, and she had a traedmill test which showed her heart to function normally during physical activity, She continues to play sports, Track, Soccer, Snowboarding, Wakeboarding with no ill effects. The Cardiologist is talking Pacemaker to regulate her heart during sleep. Any input?
Avatar f tn At times my heart rate has dropped to 33-35, I have been through tests such as the tilt test, echo, and treadmill. I just recently also had a heart cath. The doctor said that all the tests came back without no significant change. I do have a leaky valve that is mild. I have noticed that when my Blood Pressure is elevated my heart rate drops and when my BP is low, my heart rate is up. When my heart rate goes above 65, I feel like my heart is racing and I get real light headed and dizzy.
Avatar n tn I was curious to know your thoughts on a) do people with an 20% EF and but are improving gradually via rehab . i.e. treadmill. (Currently I am at 2mph on the treadmill for 12min, followed by the Scwin bike for 10min, and again the treadmill for 8 min at 2mph. After these 30minutes I am pretty muched exhausted. My dypsnea (sp?) is about 2 to 3 on a 1 to 5 scale (5 being the worst situation). After 30min I have pretty much out of breath.)....seem likely to work again..
Avatar n tn He also walks on a treadmill for 45 minutes everyday. He went to his cardioligist because he was experiencing a lot of palpitations, they suggested a difibulatir/pace maker. He had a very slow heart beat so they sped it up and he feels a lot better, except he still had the palpitations. Anyone know what could be causing this?
1806609 tn?1374545828 Certain systemic disorders like anemia, diabetes, vitamin deficiencies and thyroid disorders can cause these symptoms. So please consult your primary care physician who may ask for an EKG or a treadmill test to rule out a cardiac cause for the symptoms. He may even ask for blood tests and an X ray chest. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am now being reffered to a cardiologist , and I am in hope I may get the test , treadmill stress test , as I get extremely breathless walking upstairs & hills , my question is , I have heard the rate + slope goes up at 3 minute periods of time , but how many times does it go up ?

Avatar n tn after the completion of around 12 months i developed bradycardia resulting in the installation of a pace maker in end july 2008. Ever since the fixing of the pacemaker my pulse rates are now regulairized between 70 and 130 . since installation of the pacemaker I am continously suffering from a heavy head 24 X 7 with a nausea feeling and discomfort in the head and shoulder region. I am also feeling very week and lethargic. if any one can provide an answer to my problem i will be obliged.
Avatar n tn My mother-in-law will be 90 in April. Her doctor wants to put in a pacemaker to stabilize her heart. She has lung cancer, quite a large mass but apparently not very fast-growing. She has diabetes, which might mean amputation in her future, and she has Alzheimers that is no long mild but not very advanced. She often recognizes my husband. Some days she seems to really enjoy life. I cannot understand the doctor's recommendation.
