Pacemaker questions ask

Common Questions and Answers about Pacemaker questions ask

pacemaker

Avatar f tn I'd ask him why not just put in the pacemaker and skip the rest. I just put a question on the forum myself about something similar. I have no problem with getting a pacemaker. I really can't see messing with ablation which may or may not work when I know a pacemaker will work and stop messing around with tests. Maybe pacemakers are as good as I think they are, but my mother lived a very long life because of one. She sure felt better too.
Avatar m tn I'm a 54 yo female who needed a pacemaker 10 years ago due to idiopathic 3rd degree heart block, I take no medications for my heart. My battery (now 10 years old) needs replacing. I've had 4 episodes of 5 second or less V-tach (according to the pacemakers computer) in the last 18 months and the doctors are wanting to do an Electrophysiology study to see if they can find out why I've had these episodes, since the echo and nuclear stress test preformed last week, were all normal.
Avatar n tn i had 3 open heart surgery and on my 2nd. pacemaker.. my first pacemaker last me for 18yrs. and just got my 2nd. pacemaker Dec.2006.. my pacemaker was implanted in my upper chest on the right side.. only thing i hate the surgery doctor told me he would use the same cut as the other pacemaker but when i woke up he cut me in another spot.. well i can say.. ask your doctor his he using the same cut as the first pacemaker was in..
Avatar m tn Thanks for your question and I hope your mother the best. Take care and if you have any followup questions you are welcome to ask.
Avatar n tn d really like to know so we can ask the correct questions for his new cardiologist. Thank you Sandra B.
Avatar n tn RBBB usually present no symptons but yet I live with these symptons, and its gettign annoying. What questions should I ask my doctor. Also the cardiologist that read the echo stated in his impression statement that other then having RBBB with ? late contractility, he said clinical correlation advised.....what does that mean?
Avatar f tn s own pacemaker does not work. Would I be out of line to ask them for a pacemaker replacement instead of just having more checks?
Avatar f tn If you don't think the doctor is giving you the best advice, go for a second opinion with a different doctor. Don't be afraid to ask them all the questions you have. Did you ask them what would happen if he didn't get the pacemaker?
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any idea what this is or what I should ask my doctor? I want to be a well informed patient so that I can ask questions and look up everything before I go to another appointment. Thank you very much for all of your help.
1603392 tn?1391186672 You will get a better response if you post on the Expert forum. The All Experts website also has a cardiology forim where you can ask a heart doctor questions.
Avatar m tn You should ask your doctor if the sinus pauses are related to sleep apnea or the Maze procedure. You should also ask your doctor what the cause of your atrial fibrillation was. A pause of 3 seconds during sleep is borderline to normal but 6 seconds is quite long. I don't think you'll get the answer on your pacemaker questions on this forum :) That's something you need to decide through discussions with your cardiologist.
Avatar m tn When this happens, it seems to also make me feel tired. My questions are would my pacemaker pick up these events?
754751 tn?1241304207 you can also read patient information over at some of the companies that maufacture the pacemakers themselves sites like biotronik , medtronic , st jude medical etc their patient information pages are very readable the one who decides if you get a pacemaker is your cardiologist after many tests and evaluation and sometimes your heart surgeon that is if you had one he can also say you need a pacemaker , is many people have pacemakers and/or ICD for various medical heart conditions
Avatar m tn t forthcoming in explaining things to you then find a doctor who will take the time to properly care for you. My doctor is very receptive to any questions I ask. You deserve to be informed. Take care and hopefully someone will jump on who can answer your questions in more detail.
341190 tn?1295467125 Hi All, I had a pacemaker fitted last april since then i have been really tired, i have had a few problems along the way, my lung collapsed then i had water on it now i have blood on it, but it,s the tiredness i cant cope with even if i sleep for over 12 hours, im wondering if anyone else has been through this.
Avatar n tn If it were me, I would prob get a second op and also ask all of these excellent questions of the doctor. I usually make notes to take with me so that I remember everything that I want to ask and ask I do!!! I do not leave the office until I understand what the doctor is telling me. For me, my cardiologist has never been able to tell me why I have an electrical prob with my heart. I guess there are some things that even they don't have answers to which is v frustrating for me.
Avatar f tn Help ease my mind on what I should do and also any questions I can add to my list to ask my EP the next time I see him. Thanks!!
Avatar m tn I agree with itdood about asking lots of questions. I think I'd also ask what the doctor what s/he thinks the prognosis would be if your father-in-law does NOT have the surgery? How long does he think it would be before symptoms get worse? Overall, based on his experience with other patients of like age and state of health, how likely is it that your FIL could be kept comfortable if he chose not to have the surgery?
Avatar n tn can I keep my leads stay intact, with the high-voltage lead in my right ventricle simply being used as a second pacemaker lead? Obviously I'm hoping I won't need a new lead, & am trying to avoid an added lead in the vein or (ouch) extracting & replacing the RV lead. I've looked & looked and read about generator changes, but can't find this, and I'm not scheduled to see an EP for a looong time.
Avatar m tn He feels he does not need a pacemaker because he can work steady, is not dizzy nor faint and lives a normal life. After seeing the good results of my 93yr old mom receiving a pacemaker, I , as his wife, would love for him to consider getting one. I fear his heart will just stop one day...it scares me. How can I encourage him to consider this procedure, or , if he seems fine without one, should he not worry about it?
Avatar n tn My mothers first PM was rejected to to infection and her second is threatening to do the same. She goes in tomorrow for IV antibiotics. What are some questions I can ask the Dr? What are her options?. The Dr. doesn't have high hopes of success in regard to the antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I lost my health insurance so I didn't go back, but the last dr's appt I had in April 2010 they said I would. I have new insurance starting Jan 1st so I'm anxious to ask a new dr questions and see if the leads moved - there was no reason for the leads moving and the dr's were stumped why they did.
Avatar f tn I worry about clot as swelling is sign of blood not flowing normally through the arm. Remember, their are not stupid question. Ask questions, don't demand. WE all have thing go wrong through no fault of our own. Dr. are same way. Maybe one lead had rough spot witch caused fluid retention. Biggest thing is not to have a blood clot that can bust loose and go to lungs, brain, etc. Outcome not good when this happens. Thanks for sharing.
