Common Questions and Answers about Pacemaker kind

pacemaker

Avatar f tn Do you have a pacemaker? The best is to check with your doctor or pacemaker technician. I don't know what can it cause the heart functioning abnormality if you have the inverted T waves? Anyone knows? It also depends if you're a pacemaker dependent or not. I'm not a pacemaker depend. I go well with the equipment which marks "Pacemaker user caution". If I found my heart beats abnormally, then I stop using it and try again after the heart settle.
Avatar m tn i have an adapta DR pacemaker, and was implanted little over 3 years ago. from time to time i get a burning sensation around my lead and pacemaker connection, with this i will have a pain from that area to my shoulder. my wires/leads stick out under my skin a little more then rest of my pacemaker, but i dont know if this is common since my pacemaker is placed on my right side of chest.
Avatar n tn My husband had a Medtronic Insync II Marquis pacemaker/defilrillator inplanted in 3/04. Even though he is end-stage & under the care of Hospice, we have been blessed with a pain free illness and would like to keep it that way. Can the defib portion of the pacemaker be turned off so that it does not interfere with a peaceful, painfree death when the time comes?

Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old female with arrythmias, sinus tachycardia my heart rate at rest is 110 I am scheduled to see an electrophysiologist on the 8 of july I think after everything I read I would rather have a pacemaker than a catheter ablation what do you think? I can not take beta blockers because of my blood pressure being too low and I need to get my heart slowed down because I have a rare lung disease and for me to have the open lung bypass my heart must be fixed first.
2073485 tn?1331662298 Sometimes i can be watching tv, or laying down or just standing and i get this shock like pain near my left breast (which is wear the pacemaker is). Is it possible to feel the pacemaker sending electrical signals to the heart? Does anybody else experience this? Thank you!!
Avatar n tn If people have side effects to the medications, sometimes the best option is to place a pacemaker and do a simple procedure (AV node ablation) that makes you pacemaker dependent. That why the pacemaker is in full control of the heart rate and the medication doses can be decreased. I have noticed that older women are often the ones that have the most medications side effects with atrial fibrillation and are more frequently the patients that end up with a pacemaker.
1590367 tn?1297051666 Is it some kind of composite curing device? used to harden something you've applied to your teeth?, if so, then no. http://www.med-college.net/de/wiki/artikel.php?
Avatar f tn It is my understanding that the answer in both cases is: depends. If a pacemaker user has no other clot forming risks, I'd guess no thinner is needed, likewise, an ablation that stops the arrhythmia would allow the patient to get off of all medications. An aspirin might be prescribed just-in-case. Arrhythmia has a bad habit of coming back.
Avatar f tn If the docs wont operate then they wont put in a pacemaker. A pacemaker does not seem to be needed. Your uncle's problem comes from clogged arteries due to high cholesterol (either from diet or genetics or both). The arteries supply blood and nutrients to the heart muscle itself to keep it alive. When the heart can't get it's blood supply you have a heart attack. Looks like they put stents in the artery years ago which keeps the artery open.

Avatar f tn what kind of a case do I have if my doctor does not give me a option of getting my defibrillator placed under the skin or under the muscle? It has not shifted and causing a lot of discomfort and has needs to put under the muscle.
Avatar f tn But during the recording of these pauses he did not suffer from any syncope, he has not had any syncope from january 2017. Our cardio told us that he requires a pacemaker (DDDR) to act as a safety mechanism if any further syncopes occur. We (family) and he is totally unwilling of the procedure. Is it totally necessary? Or will he die without the pacemaker?
696415 tn?1228229959 s electrical activity, it is sometimes called the primary pacemaker, the natural pacemaker. If this is what was damaged during your ASD repair, than a pacmaker would be a decent option to keep your heart rate from becoming bradycardic. Unfortunately, there are no medications to increase your rate. I imagine that you are always feeling fatigued from such a low HR. Hainvg the pacemaker implanted would definitely help you feel more energetic.
Avatar n tn My mother-in-law had a pacemaker put in about 6 months ago and told me last evening, that her doctor said that she should avoid green vegetables. I just thought that was very odd that shes suppose to avoid healthy food. Can someone answer my question?
Avatar n tn can I keep my leads stay intact, with the high-voltage lead in my right ventricle simply being used as a second pacemaker lead? Obviously I'm hoping I won't need a new lead, & am trying to avoid an added lead in the vein or (ouch) extracting & replacing the RV lead. I've looked & looked and read about generator changes, but can't find this, and I'm not scheduled to see an EP for a looong time.
Avatar m tn Could the brand of pacemaker have something to do with your problem? I had a St. Jude pacemaker for 10 years before the unit had to be changed and never had a problem with it the entire time. I am 100 % pacemaker dependent. It was set to beat from 60 to 120 times per minute. My new one is set from 60 to 130 but I cannot tell any difference. The only prescription I take is Armour thyroid. for a low thyroid condition.
