Pacemaker high availability

Common Questions and Answers about Pacemaker high availability

pacemaker

Avatar m tn There is a thread going on the forum now about the projected cost of Telaprevir in Europe, and how that will affect availability. Its no that led to a discussion of healthcare systems, with comparisons of the US system and various socialized medicine systems in place overseas. Some posts are pretty passionate and I wonder if the thread will go away if it gets too political. I'm interested in what people think about how we can pay for PIs.
Avatar m tn Now that Symfony is FDA approved, is there any information about when it will actually become available for U.S. patients? For me, the question isn't just academic. I'm scheduled for measurements Aug. 1, then eye one a week later, and eye 2 about a week after that. On my last visit, a week ago, just days before the FDA announcement, I discussed Symfony in passing with my ophthalmologist. The conversation went something like this: "Sounds like great option.
Avatar m tn It failed. I need to have another treatment.Tests show high viral load. My doctor says we will have a re- treatment with Pegintron, RBV and Telaprevir. Is Telaprevir available in India. If not where in the Asian countries can i have the treatment.
326176 tn?1239515689 Presently I am advised Electrophysiological study and pacemaker implantation, followed by CAG cath. The irregualarity in heart rhythm is not troubling me much except when I lie down to sleep in the night. My question : Do I have to submit myself to the above mentioned procedures on an emergency basis OR Will I be able to postpone it further.(for obvious reasons including lack of funds).?
Avatar f tn Ur welcome ; ) my uncle has the same symptoms( though no pacemaker) and his bp is crazy high with the nosebleeds ... Ur baby's father may want to buy a bp monitor for home use and monitor his bp frequently through the day and record so he can tell his dr ..
Avatar n tn My normal pulse rate with out pacemaker is 54 ppm. My dual lead pacemaker is set at 70 ppm, some people with pacemakers have the pacemaker rate set below their normal heart Resting rate Ex. normal rate 50 ppm Pacemaker set at 45 ppm. What determines the optimun pulse rate for the pacemaker? My Doctor is willing to set it at any rrrrrrrrrrate I choose. I am 86 years old in good physical shape, play tennis do nautilis and swim several times a week.
Avatar f tn We have had a EEG, CAT Scan done and nothing has shown up. Where do we go from here? I was also wondering can the pacemaker be set to high they have it set at 60 bpm.? They are trying to tell us that it might be her inner ear I do not believe it.
550432 tn?1215133317 The problem can be neurological (anxiety, etc.), or a problem can orginate with SA node (natural pacemaker). A beta blocker medication can reduce the heart rate...a heart rate above 100 at rest is problematic and should be treated.
Avatar f tn My blood pressure has been running low around 80/60 and heart rate 93 I get a dizzy feeling when this happens and my heart feels like it is going to pop out of my chest. Could this because they have my pacemaker set so high, before the pacemaker my heart rate was in the 40's.
Avatar n tn In August this year I had a pacemaker implanted (3 lead MEDTRONIC C2TRO1) The rate was set at 90 and although relieved that I would not go out of sinus I did not feel well, suffering insomnia, short of breath with almost any sort of exercise. I went last week for my 6 weeks check up and the rate was set at 75. This has improved my awareness of the heart beating but I do not sleep much better, am very tired and a small flight of stairs means that I an beating around 87. Can the rate be lowered?
Avatar m tn In 2013 I had an AV Node ablation. I am pacer dependent. In 2015 my pacemaker was upgraded to a Bi-V due to "pacemaker syndrome". Since that time I have periods of extremely irregular heartbeats. These can last up to 8 hours. Various medical professionals have checked my pulse during these periods and confirm what I already knew. I do not understand why the pacemaker does not prevent these periods of IHB.
Avatar n tn She has to be careful to know what to avoid with having a pacemaker. High power lines can actually cause the pacemaker to stop working and then she would need to get another one.
Avatar m tn Q: Did any one experience high fluctuations and big increases in BP after the pacemaker (St Jude PM2210) implant? - I am 74 yr old diabetic with hi-BP. I got my first pacemaker installed around mid Sept, '11. After getting the pacemaker, my BP readings have been progressively worst week by week.
Avatar f tn My grandmother had her pacemaker implanted 1 week ago. Is it normal for the area to be bruised, a purple color? She is also experiencing a burning sensation around the area. She is 84 years old and before she had the surgery she was able to walk fine and now she walks a little and she feels very tired and she says she feels like her heart is beating really fast and it might even come out.
Avatar m tn I'm not a doctor... just an afib patient who has done a lot of reading. I'll try to answer your questions but you should also get answers directly from your cardiologist (or a second opinion from another doctor). 1) Your wife's cardiologist has proposed a reasonable treatment approach. You haven't mentioned wheteher your wife is in persistent afib or sporadic.
Avatar m tn To add to what already has been said a pacemaker is needed when the system's natural pacemaker (sinus node in the right atrium) may be irregular. Your medication helps control high blood pressure and probably would be prescribed without a pacemaker.
Avatar m tn now have a pacemaker set for 60bpm. Medication is flecanaide with the idea of reducing the HR so the pacemaker controls the rate. After 3 years being OK I am now getting rapid heart rate at night & sometimes during the day wirh a subsequent feeling of exhaustion. I also have light headed spells. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn I have had numerous surgeries including the Fontan in 1987 with a revision of the Fontan in 2006, where at that time I also had a Medtronic Enrhythym Pacemaker install. 3 weeks ago I had a Pacemaker replacement due to the fact my battery on my Pacemaker was running low. The new Pacemaker installed is a Medtronic Adapta. Since the new pacemaker my Heart beat has been all over the place. My 1st Enrhythym was paced at 80 bpm, and it pretty much stayed like that for 5.
Avatar n tn Hello i am concerned as i am only 18 and have found out i am pregnant, and bekoz i have a pacemaker bekoz i had an irregular heart beat i am just wondering if the pacemaker would affect me when i am ready to give birth? I am highly concerned and would really be appreciated for the answer i am given thank you.
Avatar n tn I've had a pacemaker for 28 years now. And because of the amount of time I have had my pacer I have gone into heart failure. My doctor is planing on putting a bivent. pacer in me in about a month. My pacemakers normally have lasted me 7-8 years. I was just wondering how long is the life expectancy of the new pacemaker.
1698792 tn?1306863919 I would definitely call your doctor and have it checked, that is too high. Normally, the cardiac surgeon will "set" the pacemaker to what pace the heart should be beating, so, this all needs to be checked, and ASAP.
Avatar m tn The medical problem as presented by report is the right side of the heart has an increased right ventricle enlargement as well as the upper right chamber and is consistant with a high (marginally) of right ventricle systole (pumping phase) pressure (RVSP). Moderate tricuspid valve regurgitation should be watched...mitral valve's mild leakeage is considered medically insignificant. To evaluate for a pacemaker: Does the heart pump too slowly?
Avatar f tn no. 84 is not high, it's only generally if it gets to over 100 at rest that tachycardia is diagnosed. As long as his heart rate is stable and there are no rhythm problems, then there is certainly no requirement for a pacemaker.
Avatar m tn Yes my concern is a defective pacemaker. It seem to b running fine from Nov 24 to Dec 31st. Then by accident someone hit my pacemaker real hard. I had some immediate pain and then I started having chest pains. That evenyually resulted in afib...not sure what to think...
Avatar n tn In June was feeling tired and decided to get a physical exam. BP was 135/75, cholestoral was just a bit high. General Dr. discovered my heart rate was 38 bmp. Referred to Cardio Doc. He ordered an Echo, Stress Eco and holster monitor. The echo and stress eco were normal according to the Cardio Doc. Holster Monitor (2 Days) showed an avg beat of 44, low 35 and high of 50. If I cannot exercise I feel tired and lightheaded, but I have not passed out yet.
