A major magazine (Woman's Day) had an article about them and the editor had bought some jewelry and said it was amazing. Check out the website! It's SilverJewelryClub.
Avatar n tn My mother had placement of a pacemaker 6 months ago. She was told that the battery should last 7-10 years. When she recently had her pacemaker checked the physician told her that she now has only 2 1/2 years of battery life left. Unfortunately, the reason for a loss of battery life was not given even after the question was presented. Can you help us understand what has happend.
Avatar f tn No Known, Minimal, and Special Consideration. Wireless headphones are listed as "Minimal", which, to me, indicates that there is a possibility. http://www.medtronic.com/rhythms/downloads/UC200602918EN.pdf In addition, I would notify your Doctor about the situation. Many units can be interrogated by a doctor or technician to see events that occurred, battery life, etc.

Avatar n tn She believes that my HR or blood pressure could be dropping suddenly causing the fainting spells. She also suggested that a pacemaker might correct the problem. My medications include Advair, Toprol XL, Terazosin and aspirin. What would be the next course of action? Would a pacemaker fix this new problem?
Avatar f tn Kathy Hansen went online to research treatments and found the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where doctors could insert a pacemaker into her stomach. The pacemaker acts similarly to a heart pacemaker, sending signals that cause the stomach muscles to contract at the right times so that Gentrie could eat. Avatar m tn I am no doctor but I have found out that it does not matter how healthy and/or fit you are a heart problem can start at any moment. I was a competitive athlete (triathlons, adventure racing, marathoner) and training for my third Ironman Triathlon when I started have problems (dizziness, shortness of breath). My EKG came back with a Long QT symptom and further tests revealed Ventricular Tachycardia (lower left chamber of heart).

648910 tn?1290663083 //www.vuesoftsite.com/download/download.html What I like about this program is you can set reminders to appear on your comp screen. The lite version is what I have. There is also a vueminder pro you can upgrade to. They have a free 30 day trail for the Pro version and if you decide not to purchase it you can go back to the Lite version without losing any data. I just thought I would share as I have found these to be very useful and I am all about making my life easier.
Avatar m tn my wires/leads stick out under my skin a little more then rest of my pacemaker, but i dont know if this is common since my pacemaker is placed on my right side of chest. shoulder pain and burning sensation with pacemaker kind of work as a team, is there anything that i'm doing wrong? i'm not tugging or pulling on anything just sitting around.
Avatar f tn This device looks like a pacemaker and is implanted at the same position as a pacemaker. One of the possible functions of the ICD is antitachycardia pacing. It is an expensive device. You should discuss with your cardiologist if you would benefit from such a device or that perhaps other treatment options that you have not yet considered might be more beneficial.
678312 tn?1310010574 I just seen a cardiologist today who highly suggested I get a pacemaker and, because of circumstances, may as well go with the defibrillator also. I just finished wearing a monitor for 2 1/2 weeks for bradycardia. My heartrate keeps dropping more all the time and is down around 30-33 most all night now and in the low 40's during the day when I'm at my desk. Since I only exercise an hour a day (20 minutes jogigng and the rest calisthentics), he didn't feel that this is a good bpm.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of any great prenatal workout apps that I can download? I want to find something that has daily/weekly workout plans.
770551 tn?1305578901 s and they have a lot of free Kindle books that you can download into the Kindle app. I just got it today, so I have no idea if I can print just a portion of any of these books, but they have a lot of the old classics, including books for children.
Avatar n tn Hi, am doing some research. please can you explain why an 89yr old with pacemaker kept her 70bpm pulse with a fever of 40 deg.C. Also what were the metabolic implications for her? Many thanks.
Avatar f tn For several weeks I have experienced a discomfort in my chest that often radiates to my throat. I am a 51-year old female with a pacemaker implanted this year. I have also experienced shortness of breath, similar to what I had prior to the pacemaker. The pain comes and goes, sometimes apparent in the night. Ativan can relax me me, but not cause the symptoms to disappear entirely. How concerned should I be? In January, I had various tests from stress to catheritization prior to the pacemaker.
Avatar f tn Do you have a virus scanner/remover on your system...if you are running McAfee or even Symantec (Norton) they sometimes don't always catch them...I recommend getting AVG virus scanner...it's free and very effective..you can download it on CNET.com and search for AVG Free Version..download it and set it up to run every day...I haven't had a virus on my home computer in years.
Avatar n tn My husband had a Medtronic Insync II Marquis pacemaker/defilrillator inplanted in 3/04. Even though he is end-stage & under the care of Hospice, we have been blessed with a pain free illness and would like to keep it that way. Can the defib portion of the pacemaker be turned off so that it does not interfere with a peaceful, painfree death when the time comes?
